I wanted to share my frustration regarding the permanent ban on my second WoW account. The ban claims I was using a third-party program (hacking), which is completely false — I have not used any such programs and have been actively playing my account the entire time.
I strongly believe this ban is the result of spiteful reporting by some angry boosters (the boosting mafia) who may have targeted me out of revenge. They likely mass-reported me in an attempt to get me banned unjustly.
This situation is really disheartening, especially since I’ve always played fairly and within the rules. I’ve contacted Blizzard support to appeal the ban and provide any necessary evidence to clear my name.
Has anyone experienced something similar or has advice on how to handle false reports like this? I’d appreciate any guidance or support.

Okay , my apologies I had no idea this regulation was in place. I am only trying to get in touch with a blizzard employee and discuss the matter at hand. The situation is quite disheartening.
Oh god, he made a thread about mass report abuse from so called “mafias” on a forum that barely have few posts per day.
How could he do it.
Spamming tos copypasta is against rules as well. Don’t apologize to morrons who can’t understand the point of the thread.
Yes, it’s in place so that people don’t see the sorry state Blizzard support is in (it doesn’t exist). Otherwise half this forum would just be complaints about unjust bans. A green poster Sneako will come by eventually, report your thread and it will be auto-removed.
My GM and his wife also got 6 months for supposed bottong, even thought I know them for years and have 0 doubt they never used a bot in their life. It seems having 2 accounts and using them at the same time makes you especially suseptible to this.
They only ever got vague AI replies that weren’t even addressing their appeal, and then warning that if they appeal again they will be banned from submitting tickets also.
I have guildmates regularly being silenced for offering boosts or enchants outside of mafia. I am a raid geared r14 mage with all enchanting recipes except 4stats and I just stopped boosting or offering my enchants all together to preserve my chat privilages. Which I suppose people at large actually want, no boost or enchant spam. What a sad, broken game. Basically just raid-logging until TBC now, and will probably get some outside help with consumes in Naxx, since I am unable to use either of my gold making methods.
This is just the state Blizzard is in now. It won’t get better, nobody will fix it. You either keep paying for a game with fully AI useless support and reporting mafias, or you don’t pay and go private server where the support actually exists, but there are no guarantees Blizzard won’t just sue them eventually to force a shutdown. It is what it is.
Since Blizzard have decided to be extra trigger happy with bans this time around as opposed to basically never banning anyone for anything previously, there really should be a way to speak to an actual human to get clarity as and when required.
I got a 7 day chat ban for the first time in 20 years, didn’t even know it was a thing, and still have no idea why. Got a generic email saying my chat privileges are suspended because I broke the terms of service by “Some examples include abusive chat, advertisement, spamming, or other communication that violates our code of conduct.”.
I wanted to know exactly what I’d said or done, to avoid doing it again in future. Made a ticket, made it extremely clear that I was not appealing the account action but simply asking for the reason for it. Got a bot reply 5 days later saying “yeah we reviewed your case and we’re not removing the restriction, bye” and they closed the ticket. Made a post on the CS forums, got told I’m not allowed to ask there and to go make a ticket.
Absolutely ridiculous garbage service for a paid subscription.
Only thing you have to consider is if you think blizz deserves your cash.
They won’t change or improve customer service’s.
It’s your choice, you are in control here.
If you are a blizz fanboy /wow addict you will take the hit and continue handing them your money…they know this, gamer’s are like junkies that they can treat like crap with impunity.
Would you continue to pay for any other product or service where this could happen?
Most other products and services have a competitors you can go to. What’s a competitor of WoW Classic, realistically speaking? Other MMOs from 2000s? Turtle WoW? That’s getting shut down most likely when Blizz does the Classic+ they just made a survey about.
Blizz behaves like this because they know they have a de-facto monopoly on the nostalgia tripping millenial demographic.
I wonder if there are any private servers for vanilla worth getting into?
For the most part on private servers that I have seen, specially those for Vanilla, seem to be filled with drama at some point and things go down fast after that or simply DOA.
People seem to be very upset about the Blizzard customer support and I agree, it’s a shame how it is for a monthly paid service.
My question has become another since a few moments to this present day, why are you people still paying for this?
I understand that but there’s other games to play, other mmorpg’s, granted not WoW but it is what it is.
My sub runs out soon, I’m notr playing anymore, my dad is going to start playing WoW, he wants to try it out and I get it, he’s retired and he wants to get a taste for this game and see what it was about.
The only way that Blizzard will learn is by people hurting their wallets but I don’t see that happening, people will keep complaining and they always do and yet they keep paying them money on a monthly basis…
