My solution to Casual progession

He may be asking for 207 ilvl gear, but it’s more effort to clear Normal than it is to collect Anima. You can literally 1/2 AFK anima farm with a second monitor watching things, you can’t do the same as in raids.

Not to mention, people who only do WQ’s or low keys don’t NEED high level gear. Getting to 200 ilvl should be enough, 197 for most pieces is really good, since it’s only 3 behind normal/10 behind the last 2 bosses.

The progression for casuals is fine, they just want to be Mythic raid quality geared for doing trivial content, and that’s what made the game so bad in BFA.

you will have your upgrades in patch 9.1.

the solution is already there.

If you don’t participate in PvE, you don’t need gear at all. Thus, if you’re just a PvPer, you don’t need gear at all.

Gear for pvpers, the pvp vendor, etc… All that stuff is just some fluff thrown at pvpers because they wanted to have “some fun with gear progression”.

If PvPers can have fun with gear progression, why casuals shouldn’t ?

Also, I know you think +5 is casual. It’s not.

With how slow anima drops? No thanks. Nobody would ever spend 3K anima on a 202 > 207 upgrade. Not even remotely worth it.

Why is that a good thing?

That ‘solution’ is months away.
Maybe April, but likely May. That is simply much too late.
You can’t have a whole part of your playerbase be stuck in limbo for that long.

Meanwhile content available to actually get better gear

207 may be low, but it is high enough for someone who enjoys only questing. At that point cosmetic rewards (like mounts, pets, transmog items and toys) make more sense. And you get a lot of that from open world content.

As a casual LFR hero… I can’t say I care much about my gear now that I have ilvl 196 as long as stuff ded relatively fast I’m fine.

Sure I wouldn’t say no to better gear but its not really a problem or a need for me. But also… Not at the cost of people whom are more dedicated than me losing the feeling of it being worth it. There should be proper pay-off for higher content.

Torghast gives me enough of the feeling of totally overpowerd blowing stuff up fantasy.

Don’t hide behind fancy terms. You’re namecalling.
Reported.

Yes. Stuck.
I can’t have fun doing the content I like to do.

I don’t get people like you.
Your ‘advice’ for someone like me is ‘do content I don’t like’.
Yeah, that’s not going to let me have fun in this game. :weary:

It’s not about the numbers.
It’s about being able to play content you enjoy and have it be worthwhile and relevant.

How does that make sense though? We can already do that content, so no we don’t NEED the gear for that. It’s about getting gear because that’s FUN.

Same reason why Mythic raiders get gear. They don’t need it because they’re already killing the bosses there. If your kind of argument made any sense the last boss of a Mythic raid should not drop ANY loot and only cosmetic stuff. They don’t need the gear when they’ve obviously killed the boss. :man_shrugging:t4:

It’s not about the gear.
It’s about the content. It’s about the content feeling worthwhile and relevant.
Not outdated and unrewarding. THAT is what it’s about.

Ps you say you’re a casual LFR hero… Sorry, but I don’t believe you.
You sound too much like an alt of some tryhard heroic raider.

But no one forces you.

You just want to have your cake and eat it too.

You want to be rewarded like people who do complex content without putting in the effort (and no, doing world quests is not effort).

And you DO get gear from questing. And you get anima to upgrade the covenant set up to 197.

If it is not about the numbers, why isn’t the 197 gear from questing good enough?

Mythic raids has increasing difficulty. First boss is easy, you get gear from that to kill next boss, then the next, etc. Until you kill final boss, but even guilds who kill final boss still find it difficult to oneshot it without any wipes until several weeks pass with higher gear which make it easier.

This is not something existing in questing. It has no increasing difficulty.

If Blizzard adds multiple difficulties of questing content (high double), with some difficulty requiring extreme skill similar to that of Mythic raids, then yeah, some gear rewards would make sense.

Look at my guild, that’s all just me and my partner. The guild leader is my main. Now tell me again: am I still a try-hard heroic raider?

Only times I raided were: vanilla, TBC and WotLK. Since I got back in Legion: all LFR.

Edit: I also don’t see what was ‘heroic try-hard’ about my message can you explain?

No.
I just want to have fun doing the content I like.
How can you call that ‘have your cake and eat it too’. I really don’t get it.

Well, you’re factually wrong. Doing world quests IS effort. That’s a cold, hard fact.
Yes; it’s less effort, but it’s STILL effort.

And as I have been saying MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY times before (but for some reason the same stupid remarks get made again and again and I have to repeat myself again and again):

I don’t expect WQs to just drop high level stuff. I don’t.
I’m talking about things like: A long, long grind of anima to upgrade a piece of the covenant set. Hell, I’d even do a challenging solo quest/instance or something of the sort to earn special tokens you can use to upgrade that gear to something higher.

I AM willing to put in effort.
And yes, grinding many WQs for a month (for example) IS effort. No matter what your opinion about that is, nothing changes the fact that is IS effort.

And I’ve been done with that for quite some time and it’s boring.
I want something to work towards.

BECAUSE I’M DONE WITH THAT.
Because I HAVE BEEN DONE for a long time.
We need more progression in that part of the game too.

So, maybe Blizzard should make special quests that DO have that?
World content deserves more attention.

Sounds great.
Yes, I’m willing to work for gear.

That means nothing; sorry.

I have a hard time anyone referring to themselves as ‘casual LFR hero’ because it’s an insulting term if you truly like that content.
