My three latest dungeons and interactions in vanilla

Dungeon 1:
Tank+dps:
“Hey can u come tank or heal, item x is reserved!”
-Yeah sure, but only if we do a full questrun.
“Yeah ok np!”
They then proceed to hs right after they get their loot. Disbanding the party since they were tank and 1 dps. And the rest of us are stuck with half-completed quests since they didn’t want to spend the another 15 minutes finishing the dungeon as they had promised.

Dungeon 2:
Same thing, group gets disbanded again since they hs right after their perticular boss is dead.

Dungeon 3 - the grand finale:
Warrior+Rogue:
"Hey can u come heal BRD arena + lavarun?
-Yes sure, if we save princess I can tag along.
“Ok, np!”

“HoJ och SGC hard-reserved”
-Well ok, as long as I can get the princess-quest completed thats ok.

Mage-pug when we are right beside the mc-attune:
Can we kill this pack so I can get attuned for MC?
“No not now, but I promise we can do it after the emperor is dead.”
Mage: “No you wont…”

The warrior asks me if I have any potions - “one” - I answered and he proceeded to trade me and dumb as I was I gave it to him.

He then proceeds to turn on masterlooter against the mages protest and dispite being raid-geared the warrior ninjaloot the item from Magmus. An item he had no use for what so ever but that was a huge upgrade for me. I suppose 1-2g is worth more to him than fellow players getting upgrades.

And as a final gift they proceeded to kill princess so I couldn’t complete my quest… The only reason I joined in the first place.

I am stunned by the experience quite honestly.

And so to my question… Are there seriously no repercussions at all for this kind of behavior? Anything goes these days?

I do know that had I cursed a single time or named anyone of these guys I would get banned real fast…

Is this the kind of interactions people want to have? If so, I can adapt, no worries. What goes around comes around…

Come on bro, just go gdkp and boost like 90% of serwer
With the blizzard blessing ofc

Yeah that is the other thing that hit me as a quite a big surprise since I recently started leveling here. The huge amount of people just buying xp and gear. It seems very strange to me to buy everything instead of playing the game and enjoying it. But after my initial experiences here perhaps it’s not that strange that people prefer to get max-lvl and bis-gear with their mastercard instead of interracting and playing the game like we used to do.

What realm was this on? I’ve had no such problems on EU-Mirage Raceway PvE (grouped with Nethergarde Keep & Pyrewood Village). Were they guilded? Unguilded is usually a red flag for me.

I’ve had the odd greedy so & so rolling need on greens / profession mats because they or their main/alt needs them (lame), but apart from that, people have been very helpful & accomodating when I’ve explained I need ‘x’ quest completing. Good experiences 99%, but there’s a minority muppets everywhere. Seems most of them are on your cluster :frowning:

I started leveling on the EU Firemaw-cluster, the latest and most unpleasant experience (dungeon 3) was from a Swedish guild. I have seen them around so they might be quite a few players. I’m not sure.

Perhaps I just choose the wrong server or have just had bad luck with most of my dungeons but I truly hit a brickwall with these latest interactions. I just rather not play tbh.

I did have one dungeon-run on my journey towards 60 that was fun and where people could behave. So there are rare occations but it’s the exception and not the rule it seems.

I might try out Mirage Raceway instead if I can manage to shred this bad taste I got from classic and if I can get hyped enough to start all over again. Thanks for the advice!

The more the merrier over here. It’s PvE cluster by the way. I don’t PvP at all, so couldn’t tell you what BG’s are like. Sounds like a bunch of selfish guildies just screwing you over. Just avoid them in future if you stay put.

As a Swede I can just say stay away from the Swedish guilds they are usually not the best representations of us

I played on both PVP and PVER server. I started on PVP, but I got kinda sick of the culture there so I decided to try PVE and I never looked back. Sure it was fun to kill people in the open world, but I just didn’t want to deal with the toxicity. Of course there are some bad apples on PVE servers too, but they are few and far between compared to PVP servers. Unless you 100% want to be on the PVP cluster or with your guild, you should transfer. If you are not sure, you can make an alt and check it out first. It’s a cluster so just pick the one where your name is free.

Price of too big servers. Reputation to players not count :frowning:

Update:

Dungeon 4:

Reserved items as per usual…

Tank: We can do my quests but we will skip everyone elses dungeon-quests.
DPS 1: hearthstone as soon as his boss is dead.
DPS 2: hearthstones shortly after as well.

Disband.

This have been my experience in almost every single groupcontent on Firemaw-EU.

I don’t really see any reason to be a part of this cluster. Unless you are a psychopath and enjoy griefing other people. Then you would fit right in. In fact I would discourage anyone from starting a character here.

Thank you everyone for you advice regarding PVE-servers, should my hunger for vanilla return from the dead I will try it out for sure. I’m sure it is as you say, a completely different culture.

Thanks!

As long as we keep all the nonsense out of PvE and let the PvP guys do their thing while we do ours it’s fine.
Trying to avoid all that toxicity here and so far we are doing relatively ok thankfully.
Community should be king.

I regret leveling on this cluster. I could never imagine the behavior prior to playing here. It’s completely beyond me how it’s the rule and not the exception to grief and be so toxic for no reason, not even personal gain. People are just straight up toxic. I will definitely reroll elsewhere.

It hit me today after I lost another int, spirit, + healing item to a dps warrior that this didn’t even register at the time. It’s so baseline and I’m so used to it so I didn’t even react to it.

Well, lets try out a different server at another time…

I’m leveling as a warlock on the same cluster and never had problems with dungeon groups like you describe.
There will always be mean people.
Just join a leveling guild or a casual end game guild and make guild parties.
One of the best aspect of vanilla wow is the social factor.
While it is a cluster server the overall pop is low so once you start adding a-holes into your block list eventually you will have better experience.
And of course never join random groups that HR items - never understood this new mentality.

I think the toxic stuff starts at or around max level.

People on pvp classic server are generally the most elitist toxic player you will ever encounter. I know loads of people that rerolled to a pve server after only a few months after classic 2019 launched.

Sad it’s still true to this day.

Hehe unfortunately my ignore-list was full around lvl 40 or so…

I’m glad you have had better experiences than me though. Hopefully it will stay that way but judging only by my journey to lvl 60 and seeing almost exclusively extremely toxic behavior I do think rerolling is warranted.

I would say this sounds very accurate. I have another example from today in Strat living:

DPS 1 ask if we can kill The Unforgiven when we are passing nearby him. I respond with “no problem at all”!

However, DPS 2 starts analyzing DPS 1 spec and claims that if he is going to raid AQ40 he should respec and thereby we can skip the Unforgiven and 2-3 extra packs of mobs. Thereby saving him the trouble of spending another extra 5 minutes in the dungeon.

This starts a full on verbal war (not a civilized argument) that lasts nonstop until the dungeon is cleared - and we had people flying from booty bay so it lasted a while. Logs where brought out from raids to see who had the biggest… dps… And the namecalling was neverending.

I found it both really sad and quite remarkable that these guys can’t spend a couple of extra minutes to help eachother out and kill a boss in a dungeon that we are clearing anyways. But they see no issues spending 1.5 hours and alot of work digging dirt in logs on eachother.

The irony of it all…

This 100% as a fellow swede my self. It gets very toxic, very extremism quickly - There is ofc a few good out there i am sure of but Very FEW and i would encourage any one to stay away from them, even for any other fellow swede out there. They are usually the worst representation of us.

I only had toxic experience back in Flamelash (PVP), but ever since i moved too Pyrewood Village i had really good time since, My only regret i didnt picked that one during release.

Very sorry that you had some very terrible experience in classic and i hope that you will have a much better one onwards Mivana.

Ah I forgot to mention that the build in ignore is insufficient.
I use an addon called Global Ignore list.
It lets you filter posts containing key words like gdkp, boost or gbid that makes LFG and World chat more readable and ignore players outside of the ingame cap with the option to be it limited to a certain period and adding a note why you ignored them.
Today for example I had a dungeon group in RFK where we killed the last boss and only the escort quest was left.
Everybody except myself had it finished.
1 person left (logged off) but the rest helped me finish it.
It’s always depends on the situation and I hope you find some nice groups soon.

That is great info, thanks alot! Being able to filter out all that “wtb/wts xp and gear” would be very nice. That is something else I don’t want to be a part of. I’m installing it right away no matter where I end up playing. That sounds like a great addon!

That is another thing. GDKP and gold selling is a MUCH smaller problem on the PVE servers. I assume people that go PVE are apparently less likely to buy gold and xp wich means there is more profit setting up your bots and GDKP runs on the PVP servers than on the PVE serveres.

The only viable solution would be to join a guild and run dungeons with your guildmates, pugging can be awful at times.
