If you want to buy everything from the vendor ~240’000 you have to grind a lot! alone doing the weekly it takes you 40 weeks. then you have around 1500 from world quests and doing the dig event every here and there.

According to wowhead, only the blue recolor can be found in the tomes/looted from endboss (https://www.wowhead.com/item=212638/excavators-work-shirt#contained-in-item). Red recolor needs to be purchased (https://www.wowhead.com/item=212633/historians-fitted-vest). This matches my experience.

yes it is because the event is dead in a couple of weeks and you can never grind that much as you can now. do the fishing event you never will hit legendary 
its the design of all these events in dragonfligh. they dont scale to lower participation. do it now or good luck.
only solution for solo this after 2-3 weeks is doing the world quests on alt army and kill the event boss. the dig event will be not worth anymore.

Actually, i believe the dig part does scale with the number of participants. That’s why it’s so bad when people are AFK - thye don’t contribute, yet their presence makes digging slower.

you dig on a spot and the more people dig in one spot the faster you are. sometimes people have to do tasks that gets you more progress on the “fille the bar”. and after 10min a boss spawnes and you kill it. done. its just klick some icons and wait. until 10min is over. nothing special tbh.

I agree the AFKers are the fail factor. So many over the weekend just stood doing nothing.
Probably because they didn’t know what they were supposed to do. None of the ‘new’ archaeology stuff is obvious (especially when it’s so hard to get the percentage bar to appear).
I think there’s a weekly. I did this standing by Edwarde or whatever his name is and got given 1 task. Whereas others were getting them every few seconds. I guess he doesn’t like me. And then, just like the cooking pot, it’s the race to get a tag on the boss before people kill it. There’s no necessity to attack it with all guns blazing. Just get a tag on it and let others have a chance to do the same.
I also got a quest to do in a river in Ohnahran Plains. I don’t know if that was part of the original chain or if these pop up every so often.

Yeah, many people waiting for tasks not knowing, that they should help digging. Which in large numbers of people is very unproductive, since tasks become rare on particular persons. Sometime I got only one task through all event. And otherwise, some people dig all the time and ignore tasks, but tasks give so much free pages.
The one that costs 20k fragments? You get 5k weekly from the quest for doing the event just once.

I did 10+ event during the weekend, and literally every time people were telling others to help digging while waiting for tasks - to no effect. My experiences make me believe that the people standing around not doing anything are simply afk.
