Mythic + from a "weekend" player perspective

Hey,

so, how do i begin this topic…

I guess my first question to you, Blizzard, is what is the point of your quest “Cracked keystone”?
Are you trying to lure more players into mythic+ content?
Is that the purpose of this quest?

I’m not doing m+, simply because for me, it is too hard.

And while i understand, for many, it’s fun and everything, i have other priorities in life and i don’t have time to learn mechanics and get much more experiences in dungeons, mythic dungeons and following to m+ content.

So with that in mind, why do i even write this topic right? What is my point?

If you are trying to lure more players into M+, i think great start would be making low keys easier.

I can do mythic dungeons with closed eyes, we don’t really need to know mechanics there, right?
But the difficulty and skill requirement going from Mythic, to Mythic +2, is such a big jump…

I went yesterday and today into M+ only to accomplish this quest “cracked keystone”, but let me tell you, we wiped like 4 times, i spent propably about 2 hours for nothing.
Today, finally i finished my first +2, luckily i had the honor to play with couple of much more experienced players, who guided me through dungeon i never even been through before and we finished in time.

Which leads me to another point.
We propably were there for like 20 minutes? 20 minutes, of INTENSE fighting, like i almost died like 4 times.
Why do i say this?
For all that effort, intensity, fighting, i got 59 gold…
That’s a very bad joke.

So, this is coming from a very casual player.
If you, Blizzard, wants us noobs to play M+ more, first, make it easier from the lower tiers and slowly add difficulty with higher keys.
And, give me some freakin reward after each run!

I have gold, i have all kinds of materials and currency and items and pets from just 1 Delve run, which is much easier!
But only like 60 gold from m+ dungeon? Which is much much harder?

I’m just saying…
It’s your game…
But if you wanna introduce more players into m+, you might wanna make some changes.

Thank you, and have a nice day :v:.

It’s a great mode for all. You can just list a key and do it. I did my own +6 Gambit as tank without ever being in the dungeon ever.

All I did was watch a short boss guide but I didn’t watch it all. I didn’t even know there was a P2 on the final boss.

You just list the key and invite people. I just invited the first people who signed up. It’s the ultimate game mode. Anyone can do it.

The magic is that you never know how it will go.

Or dont do the quest?

The game caters to all kinds, they dont have to make it easier to cater to you.

I mean, I have 1 kid and 4 wives. I pay for 4 houses and I work 18 hours a day, and I still manage to do M+

No one is forcing you to do the quest or participate in any content you don’t like or find hard to play. It’s for wider audience as a game feature for players.

There are also mythic raid difficulties - we’re also not forced to do those. You don’t even have to do LFR if you don’t like raiding scene or being in a group with 20 other people.
I am also not doing PvP quest if they’re weekly for example, nor doing Pet Battles. But that doesn’t mean it’s something that needs to be changed just because I don’t like it.

It’s not like this quest is mandatory for you. It’s up to you what you decide to do in game.

some people just need incentive to try .

its not repeatable so im sure you can suffer through 1 singular +2 if you want that extra crests.

What quest is that?

Yeah, that is pathetic amount of gold.

I’m sure you can google it, it’s called “cracked keystone” as i mentioned.
I got it when i logged in first time in season 3, i guess it’s like an introduction to a new season or something like that.

Not just gold. Give me some item, some piece of equipment for my hard work yk?
It’s overall pathetic reward.

There are quest for pvp, i don’t do pvp so i don’t do the quest. Surely the same would apply if you dont do M+ just don’t do the quest. You could do it on a +2 that is not that taxing. Im not trying to be a d@#k just saying. If you can’t find some one to do it with i’ll happily give you a hand at the weekend.

A +2 is not hard work

Its not hard alto it may be the first time, you memorize all the mechanics rather fast and then it becomes easy all the way to +10 making delves feel like they are just meant to make you burn out.

Don’t do Mythic+. Get out while you still can. Your soul will be crushed, your sanity tested.

You’ll never look at a dungeon the same way again. The derangement in there is not for you. It’s not for anyone sane.

Is it? Afaik it’s just +7% of scaling. Sure, there is the affix to handle but that makes +2 arguably way easier than +0s because the affix is an immense power gain.

The added timer might introduce more stress because you’re under pressure but difficulty wise, I’d argue +2s are easier than +0s.

So the 3 wives are just for fun?

The Great Vault will have a random ilvl694 in its respective line for completing that +2. That is one (delayed) reward for completing it. You also earned 10 Runed Crests.

I know they are not the reward you have been after, but they exist. I am not saying it’s a good system however.

Not everyone has +10 on farm on Week 2.

too late, sanity is gone.
Got dragged screaming and kicking yesterday by two guildies to tank a +6 for them.

The affix is only added at +4 to +11, afaik. So all it is, is a difference of a couple percent in damage and health - which cannot in any form explain the experienced huge gap between M0 and M2.

And Fortified and tyrannical come in at +7 and +10.

Ah, so it only gets added at +4. Might be, never paid too much attention to it.

Yes, according wowhead, a +2 scales with +7%, which isn’t noticable at all.

So I don’t understand where this “huge jump” comes from.

Must be just the perception of someone in a group where nobody interrupts and everybody stands in goo:)

I could imagine it’s a phsycological thing. Unless it’s your own key (and you actually read the pop-up), you just don’t see how much the mobs scale.

In your head M+2 is 2 levels higher than M0 (even though it’s just 1 level higher), so you just expect it to be decently harder than M0.
