We are a group of 3 people that have very limited game time. We are able to get together once a week maybe, and we want to do mythic+ dungeons together. Time allows us to do maybe 1–2 runs. Why is there a 5-day depletion of the keystones? This effectively locks us out from doing any keystone past +2. and we won’t even see gear that is useful for us until +7, so there really is zero incentive for us to even engage in this system.
Have I missed something? Is there a way to prolong the depletion of a keystone, and I don’t mean to do a midweek run? For what reason does the keystone even deplete overtime?
Is there any way to allow us to run mythic+ dungeons?
The key doesnt deplete over time. With weekly reset you will get a new key in your vault, this will be same level of key as your highest timed key last week. If you didnt time a key it will be one level under your highest played key.
Thank you for clarifying Saani. It dident make sense that it would disappear after just 5 days. Even tho this is making progress slow we still can make progress on a key of our own and as casual players we dont really mind to much as long as there is some progress. However I can see how this might be a massive pain point for other player. If blizz wants more players in mythic this system should be looked over. Forcing players to play is usually want makes people stop playing mmo’s.
It is a little bit difficult to design a game or gamemode for people who do 1 dungeon run every 2 weeks.
You do not seem to have more time so we are not getting more players in the system anyway. When people are interested and are able to do maybe 2 dungeons a week their key will upgrade. With 1 dungeon per 2 weeks…
What do you mean by ‘forcing’?
They don’t force you they just put a rule in the game where if you complete a +10 and then don’t show up for 7 weeks, your key will drop to +3.
Because Blizzard thinks not playing should be rewarded with a depletion of minus one every week.
Mythic+ is unfortunately very inaccessible, and you only really have three options to climb:
Have a group of friends who can cover all 3 roles. If the three of you are playing tank, healer and damage dealer respectively, then you’ll just need to group together and do several runs a week realistically climb.
Pay other players to boost you with gold. A WoW token currently awards 325,870 gold for the low, low price of £17, so you’ll need to buy several. If you’re wondering why Blizzard haven’t banned this practice, it’s because they get a cut out of you wallet warrioring your way to KSM or Curve.
Pay for boosting via an illicit third-party website, which is against ToS, opens you up to greater risk of being scammed and is something I absolutely cannot condone for these reasons.
M+ is just full of elitist a-holes and is being gatekept to an inaccessible degree. Blizzard don’t care one bit about making the game more accessible, so it’s a case of either adapting or quitting.
If you think it’s ridiculous that you should pay other people to play a game with you that already has a £50 buy-in cost per expansion and costs a £10/month subscription fee to play, then join the club…
Have you even tried to do Mythic or M+ this season, or are you just blowing hot air around?
It’s basically impossible to even get into +2 keys even as a tank or healer because everybody expects to be boosted. Even if you host your own key, you’ll either have to wait hours for a healer and/or tank to actually log on, or deal with players who lack the mental capacity to do more than 400k DPS on a trash pull (minimum should be at least 1.5 to 2 million.)
I have. In a super uber casual way (unlike past seasons where I nerded out the season).
You answered yourself to your own question. You are in a 2+. And according to your statement you find “players to lack mental capacity”.
And you cant find groups because everyone wants to get boosted. But somehow you expect 1.5 to 2M as the minimum.
2+ is the entry level for M+. What kind of people do you expect to find there? Maybe… entry level players? Fortunately a 2+ is so easy 400k DPS is fine to time the key. No need for more.
I mean…
If you talk like a pro, play like a pro. Go to higher key levels. If you talk like a “casual” player, then act like one.
But coming here saying everyone is an elitist jerk in a 2+ while being one yourself is top level hypocrite.
And I have played enough M+ throught the years to know that people that cannot accept the key level they are in are precisely the ones that require boosting to compensate for lack of perspective.
In the meantime we just play without a problem. With friends, pugging and in communities. +2’s are basically free to get in.
Speaking about tanking. I wanted a dungeon for the hero vault and for the weekly worldsoul quest. LFG’ed for +2. Half a minute later i got into the dungeon. https://raider.io/mythic-plus-runs/season-tww-2/6793878-2-the-rookery
GG. Vault settled.
Yeah… fact that I’m being told that 400k DPS on trash packs is plenty for a Mythic+ is reason enough for me to think that you’re all trolling. Apparently taking 15 mins to kill a single boss is a-okay with some people…
The 1st boss of rookery has 300M health. 400k DPS x 3 DPS = 1.2M DPS (with out counting tank/healer dps).
300M / 1.2M = 250 seconds. Or 4 minutes. And that is assuming all 3 DDs do potato DPS.
If just 1 DD does 800k instead of 400k you are looking at 3 minute boss. Which is totally within time and normal.
I dont know where you get those 15 minutes… the math is not on your side. Sorry.
I think YOU are proving to be the troll here.
If I did the math to what you suggest is “normal” of 2M dps : 2M x 3 = 6M. 300M / 6M = 50 seconds to kill a boss in an M2. That is what you “expect” people to do in an M2? REALLY?
No my friend. Bosses in M+ take anywhere between 2 minutes to 4 minutes. Depending on dungeon. At ANY difficulty.
From a DPS perspective, all they have to do is not die and provide enough DPS to kill it within that time frame. And sub 1M DPS is MORE than enough to achieve that goal in a M2.
Same. No idea what he is talking about.
I am running a low weekly key on my prot pala, resto shaman and disc priest, next to my mistweaver main. I got like instant invites.
Anyone doing 2.5M or more DPS is not doing +2s. They are doing higher keys.
People that still have to figure out where the “kick” is are doing +2. Because that is the entry level, and the appropriate difficulty for those type of players.
The 1st boss of rookery has 300M health. 400k DPS x 3 DPS = 1.2M DPS (with out counting tank/healer dps).
300M / 1.2M = 250 seconds. Or 4 minutes. And that is assuming all 3 DDs do potato DPS.

The math (kinda) adds up, except you overlooked two very important details:
“on trash packs” - That’s 400k dps on 4+ target pulls, meaning the damage is even lower on boss encounters, which are generally single-target. My 615 ilvl Warrior in PROT has genuinely been 1st or 2nd on the meters in some of my (failed) groups. I didn’t quote a single target figure but off the top of my head, I’ve seen some DPS output numbers in the ballpark of 200k - 300k ST. These are meant to be quick-fire 3 to 5 boss dungeons completed within a 30 - 45 minute par time. Taking 5+ minutes to kill a boss in a timed run (assuming no wipes/deaths) is pretty much unacceptable.
Mythic+ actually increments boss stats by 8% per level, so a +2 would be 309,928,465 * 1.08 = 334,722,742 (assuming values are rounded to the nearest whole number.) These are figures for Kyrioss, the first boss of The Rookery, taken straight from WoWhead and incremented with some basic maths.
As Arms I can do about 700k - 800k ST, or upwards of 2.5M on large pulls, yet I cannot get into any keys or even regular mythic groups as a DPS, which is infuriating when I see people with vastly superior gear do dog crap numbers.
