Im just a good old salty BM hunter trying to get my wep from +7 SoA. I queue if a premade, we are both dps, both doing decent dps but the last 3 keys have all ended at the first boss because the random dps we invite ( 200ilvl and 400+ RIO) keep dying to simple boss mechanics. Our tanks knows it isn’t gonna work so they leave instantly and damn i don’t blame them at all. So let’s get proving grounds back, blizzard said that too many were unable to complete them so they had to remove them, well those ppl don’t deserve to run mythic + then.
Didn’t M+ use to require Proving grounds before you could get in?
I think you had to complete like silver proving grounds or something.
Proving grounds are still a thing and for m+ if someone is 200 ilvl and his rio is 400 you can bet he doesn’t have knowledge about all mechancis and tricks in dungeon find guild go DS and you will have so much easier m+ experience PUG 7key is harder then 15 in guild group or a friends group.
Here’s where you made a mistake
find a premade dps who knows his stuff
if i remember correctly until wod you needed to have complete silver proving grounds to queue for Heroic Dungeon, and god dammit, for some classes it was a struggle, especially for healer specs.
But from legion and after didnt have any requirement, only item level
Proving grounds would probably be a good thing as a requirement to see m+ groups in LFG
I would happily see Proving Grounds return as a prerequisite to join M+ in LFG. While it used to take a bit of time and was not completely foolproof, I would still trust it over something as unreliable as ilvl. Frankly, I don’t see any downsides to the idea and I really think removing it was a mistake on Blizzard’s part.
For Blizzard m+ is not for pugs. It is premade content. Proving geounds make no sense in that context. It will never happen as long as blizzard refuses to see that m+ is pug content too.
I fail to see how these things relate to each other.
Just because you know mechanic y in proving grounds doesn’t mean mechanic x in the dungeon you don’t know about won’t kill you.
Only tools thinks tools solve all problems…
In WoD you had to complete proving grounds in order to queue in the LFD system.
M+ did not enter the game until legion.
I have gold proving grounds as well as proven assailant title from endless mode, but it doesn’t show when I apply anywhere.
It would be cool to have it re-implemented for mythic+ and raids.
Wanna do M+ keys up to +5 and Normal raid? Get Bronze level in proving grounds.
Wanna do keys up to +10 and Heroic raid? Get Silver level.
Wanna do keys up to +15 and Mythic raid? Get Gold level.
Wanna do keys over +15 for whatever reason? Complete the Endless mode achievement.
Proving grounds won’t prove that the player can do the dungeon, but they prove that the player has a functional brain inside their heads with an IQ that is at least equal to that of a human.
Wow isn’t newbie friendly and never was , they don’t have any sort of help for new players it’s : " learn the hard way " .
They like toxicity I guess and uptime a lot !!!
Blizzard got an abnormal amount of crap for implementing that Silver Proving Grounds Heroic Lock back in the day because people complained that it was a unreasonable requirement.
It really made you think.
Soa is one of those dungeons thats pain on both tyra and fort. And boses hurt there.
Your first issue is u took 400+ (how much realy was he? ) rio dmger, thats like all dungeons timed on 5.
What was his highest Soa timed?
Did u just checked his rio ingame saw number and took him, or u actualy put in effort opened his profile and checked if he ever was in that dungeon on tyra at least +2?
Dont get me wrong, i dont wanna encourage people to demand 1k rio for +5s or something, but u took dmger, that has “low” rio . If i make a group, it doesnt matter what key level it is i can pick 20 dmgers that have rio way higher than whats considered fine for said key, u should have waited.
Also, u wanna some “tool” that shows u know stuff. Its here, its rio. That magic addon everybody mock is actualy working pretty fine once u start using it correctly. Wanna have smooth run with pug ( well aint gona happen, but it at least something better…) then put in effort while forming, check people, if u see someone with soa +6 timed like 5 times on tyra, chances are this one is gotta be better than someone who did it once on +8 fort…
Just make sure to only invite players who have done the content. Possibly multiple times.
My group taken a 900 RIO druid into a halls of atonement before, he’s done it on +10 before apparently… but he didn’t even how to do the jump mechanic on the second boss.
We’re all wondering, how he did a +10 without knowing the mechanic that wipes us.
ITs called a guild and trusted friends
It’s still early in expansion, I get people in +14-15 runs that don’t know some mechanic, but they learn.
Explaining mechanics helps, if you feel like some might be missed, such as that slam on 2nd boss killing adds, plenty of people don’t know that. So just… say it before the boss fight.
But why would I have to explain mechanics on a key above +10, when they’ve already done it before?
I don’t want to wipe, because they join a high key without even knowing the mechanics.
Explaining mechanics in a M+ is a waste of time, especially when it’s timed… you know?
