Mythic raiding is too hard

That’s what heroic is for.

HC gear is good enough

Yes. It’s also not meant for the average player.
So it’s fine.

I second this. I will never grind for Mythic transmogs when the content is current. I am just not the target audience at that time.

I rather wait 2 years.

The fact that Mythic difficulty of raiding is too high is not the problem; the problem is the combined effect of all of the following:

  • Nerfs make it easier, effectively denying players the chance to experience it at the same difficulty as the RTWF guilds at any before legacy buffs kick in 2 expansions down the line.
  • New season invalidates running the old raid because it’s much easier and faster to do the easier modes of the new raid for similar gear.
  • Special rewards from it either become entirely inaccessible or extremely hard/rare to get if attempted at a point when it’s “not relevant content”.

That.
Takes too much time.
This used to be a game. Heroic raiding in wrath was one thing but mythic here is different.
The times when this used to be just a game are gone. Now we have some “pro claimed” guys.

Mythic is too hard for dedicated players too, it’s for the career players who can structure their life around the game, who also play with 19-25 other players of that persuasion, a lot of unemployed and students.

Because it’s not really just about how hard the bosses are, it’s the logistics and time investment. That’s why nobody raids mythic, it’s not about the average players because they suck even too much for Heroic, it’s that the majority of actually good players don’t raid Mythic either.

I’d like the difficulty to keep increasing. Just would love to see it more accessible, like committed raid schedule is not always possible as well as strict 20 man raid roster with every raid buff and tool. Also, not a fan of massive HP bosses like Sylvanas. I would love to see HP of bosses progressively reduced as tier goes by. Not just nerf stuff based on how the developer feels today, but a scheduled programmatic nerf every single reset that would make the clear more accessible. And reward players based on how early in the tier they managed to clear mythic raid. Similar to your star system suggestion, let’s say average raid tier is 12 weeks, give the raid 12 stars and remove one each reset reducing hp, let amount of stars reflect in player achievement and introduce rewards based on those stars or something similar.

Feels like snark from the OP.

But on a serious note, Mythic is too hard. Even for Mythic enjoyers. I will push back on this snark!

How do we know?

We know because Blizzard ends up nerfing the bosses every single week. On some weeks they nerf them by 10-20%.

We know because the amount of gear improvement required to offset the difficulty on top of that is like 40%+ every season.

We know because, if you compare the difficulty of getting the gear to the difficulty of getting M+ 10 gear, the mythic raid is much more difficult.

Difficult raiding is fun. Trust me, I should know. But there is no need to design it only for the top 10 guilds in the world, only to have them complain about it being too difficult and spamming out ridiculous addons and doing raid leading via streams and whatnot. That’s what they did to win, but I doubt that’s how they like playing it, honestly. It’s gone too far.

I consider the difficulty of Mythic appropriate roughly by the end of every season. So just make it like that from the start - that’s my opinion.

For some people it is :man_shrugging:t2:. The feeling of slowly progressing through a raid over time is fun imo. And is for anyone who does more then rf. (not having a go just explaining)

Well Mythic Raid population is close to 1% ? I don’t wanna count the guilds with 1/2 progress kills.
The population of guilds to do a full clear at least this expansion in the last tier was 574 guilds …10 k people killed the last boss ?? From like what 4+? million players…

That’s like? 0.20%-0.25% of total population ??
Not only that but even on media like youtube/twitch or anything related the Mythic Raiding is pretty dead … mythic fyrakk …300k views after 8 months …(One of my videos on youtube has reach 240k …)
People don’t even bother ~~

Mythic raid is a full time job with no pay .where people spend 12-20 hours per week doing progress on wipes…(Amazing gameplay spending wiping entire week on a boss =fun P)

So why people-players(In guilds ) in the last 5 years dropped from 22 k Mythic Guilds to 6.7k Mythic guilds current state ??

Spending 400 hours on average on wipes …progress . Is Fun~

Mythic Raids doesn’t bring almost nothing to this game .

Lowest population -Attendance .
Media-promote and anything is almost zero …
High demand in putting effort-time-preparation for zero benefits

1 or 2 more expansion at this rate Mythic guilds gonna be 2k to 3k Unless they going to nerf the Mythic Raids in order for people to do them .

Are you implying a 9 hour a week guild spends 44 weeks on a tier?

Wow sub numbers declining, wow splitting into classic, sod, etc. Wow dropping out of meta with gaming evolving into shorter gaming sessions.

That is not true players in Liquid/Method/Echo mostly have jobs away from wow and many are young parents as well. What you said might have been true back in the days of Paragon and other guilds but it is not true of todays top 10 most schedule there vacation around the race.

Would this be on another account?

There are tons of mythic raiding guilds that only raid 2 times per week. They’ll be a lot less likely to be in Hall of Fame, and they might not even beat the final boss, but it can still be fun to progress slowly, week by week, with some people you enjoy playing the game with.

With the recruitment pages on raider.io and wowprogress.com (it seems to be offline at the moment), it’s easy to find a guild that fits your schedule. I specifically looked for guilds that raid 2 times per week, and no later than 22:30 (because I need get up early).

WoW turned from game into another job (or IRL) for some people.
Heroic raids in wrath were cool and fun compared to mythic raids now

Of course. I don’t deny that.
But for me that’s not the case. That’s all I meant.

I just find the notion of doing something difficult, when I can do it easier, very strange. It makes no sense to me in my mind. I do like a challenge in a game, but a higher difficulty isn’t the type of challenge I enjoy in general.

It was objectively worse in the old days of WoW.
So, it didn’t ‘turn into’ anything; it always was a ‘second job’ for some.
