Mythic+ rewards after finishing high keys overtime

Hello guys, tonight I had some brainstorm ideas that came up to my mind while talking to a friend about frustrating time spent in high m+ keys, many sessions of hours and hours of depleting m+ keys without any reward… Especially for solo players but still basically for anyone that feels like they don’t want to /abandon every key and start all over again the endless search for another key and players…

So basically my idea is to give reward to players that put their time to the high key levels and still failed to time it.

  1. Give each player some low chance to obtain myth quality gear after finishing the key overtime for the effort and time put (without any rating gains of course).For example players on +12 and higher keys would have 20% chance to get mythic quality gear for finishing the key and if they manage to finish it overtime, the chance will drop to 10% for example.
  2. Give players the opportunity to decide if they want to finish overtime for mythic quality loot or /abandon as usually. This would be done by voting either finish for loot or abandon and deplete. If players would choose to finish the dungeon on m+12 and higher keys the chance to obtain mythic quality gear would be significantly lower like I said above for example 10% than if they managed to time it.

I feel like many people like me are getting frustrated by depleting keys one by one, because on higher keys this is usually the way it is if you are playing with pugs.( first pull BL wipe, is basically deplete for high keys, usually…)

Of course the chance to obtain mythic quality gear should be really low so players don’t exploit in some kind of way. I feel like playing this game on higher level is really frustrating and mythic dungeons are very bad tuned in terms of reward to effort ratio that players put in the game…

No thanks. Do it for challenge or score or whatever but rewarding a chance at a mythic item for failing when you don’t even get one for succeeding? Not likely.

If wiping and depleting is frustrating it’ll still be frustrating with a “low chance of M loot”. You aren’t solving anything, if anything you’re adding more frustration since you’re creating an expectation (of loot) that will likely not be fulfilled.

Its not going to work.

Basically… you cant have mythic drops on M+. NONE at all. Because it’s spammable content.

Because of that, there are only bad outcomes. Either that 20% drop chance is too low and people get frustrated and complain. OR, its too high and people simply get full Myth track gear first 2 weeks of the season.

Others have suggested to “cap” the # of items to 1 or 2 per week. But that dosent work either. Because it’s double RNG. 1st RNG is getting the item. 2nd RNG is if its myth track or not. So if you get myth track rings with wrong stats 3 weeks in a row people get really angry.

In the end. M+ myth track gear can ONLY be solved by a hard time gate. ONE item per week. No more, no less.

And the simplest, most streight forward way to do that is with the Vault. But a new version of the vault:

  • You complete 8 +10s and you get 6 tokens. That’s IT.

With these 6 tokens you can upgrade ONE item of your choosing to the next category. So from Champ to Hero. Or from Hero to Myth.

So. You FIRST have to farm said item. In the Heroic Raid. In M+… Delves… whatever. And THEN upgrade it.

THAT would be fair.
