An Idea I have been toying with it a potential neutral summit or conference, between the various Thalassian Factions, Sin’dorei, Quel’dorei and Ren’dorei, In an attempt to open a dialogue of potential reconciliation.
Of course, we all know that will never happen! But we see lots of cases of schisms attempting to be resolved in real life, such as the Council of Nicaea, which, again tend to not resolve the issue.
But I do believe it would bean interesting style of event where a debates, sometimes getting heated, would ensue, Each justified why they could or could not reconcile with the other. Its a chance for both rifts and bonds to form as well as to see family members and friends separated due to politics and philosophy.
The idea is very rough, its just a thought as of yet, no firm plans, I am however interested on what the lovely folk of Argent Dawn think?
It would likely need to be held in a neutral place of significance to each faction, Hall of the Guardian under Dalaran perhaps? Good place for a large meeting.
Again, just an idea, probably won’t work, but I think it’d be fun!
It is absolutely a lovely concept. However with the coming expansions (Namely I think it was the second of the three) there will be some uuuh stuff in connection to something like this. So having something ‘too early’ might lead to some future issues with the individual RP and the meeting might have to be voided (No pun intended).
As a former Velf main and Officer of the Umbral Vanguard, I really appreciate this interest-check, as for RP, it could lead to some interesting interaction or development, but please consider the whole “Return to Quel’thalas” stuff that will be revealed in the future expansion!
There are already many who work side by side regardless of faction in bigger Campaigns and such, and it’s always fun to witness the friction between the Velfs and the Blood elves just as an example… Or even the Helf’s and Belfs, and expect such to occur and just have fun with it!
As for the reconciliation, I am unsure how that will pan out in the expansion coming, or if there even will be any, but having stuff too premature might just lead to awkwardness in the future.
TL;DR: Feel free to run the meets! Just respect that there will be a future Canon regarding all this! I would 10/10 attend if I am available on my Ren’do former Lord-Captain!
I’d certainly be interested! Although Dariami makes a good point. Perhaps it could serve as a loose union meant to unite the elves (that didn’t get a fancy tree of late) leading up to the Midnight expansion. Either way it could serve as a nice platform to bring RPers together and (knowing elves) get into some magic mumbo jumbo adventures.
Although I can’t make any claims of having the time to host anything, I would totally attend.
The coming expansion was exactly why I thought of this idea, I do see your concerns and they are valid. I think its not Early however, that expansion is 3-4 years away, No point waiting on blizz to release stuff when we can have fun now no? WE have no idea what that expansion will exactly contain and might not contain anything of relevance, i think its still too early to tell.
The idea I’m running with is less an Official conference per se, More figures that do not represent the leadership of each respective faction, but speak for the whole, I don’t want to portray it as an official parlay or peace talk as such, its a dialogue, the outcome of such a discussion is by no means official and does not rep[resent the official stance of each government.
It could in fact lean into the expansion, Even if there’s no reconciliation, we could say IC “Well we tried that before and it didn’t work, guess there’s no reconciliation” and if there is in said expac, “Well why didn’t it work before!”
I think there’s no point not doing stuff because Blizzard “Might” do something similar in 3 years. Life’s short, lets have some fun in game now

Indeed! Us Short King Elves need a tree or something, They are already taller and now they need yet another huge tree, How can you be on the elf council and not have a big tree, its outrageous, its unfair!
I think that’s something that would come along with it, the dialogue is just the excuse to bring people together, the idea isn’t to fix the discord between the three Thalassian Factions, but to at least make them see each other as not total enemies, they all grew up in the High Home, they have that common ground, recent ( and that is extremely recent for an elf) history aside.
Be great to see you there, should it not be a totally bad idea in the end, I’m hoping you all will keep picking holes in it, as if it cant withstand critique, there’s no leg it can stand on as a concept!
Sign me up as interested in this! Would be good to dust off Delyrien again after a few years and get into some arguments- I mean, discussions.
I think this is a good point. There’s no point twiddling our thumbs about it hoping that something might happen in Midnight, especially if the summit is going to be very open ended (never really agreeing on an alliance, etc.)
There used to be the regular Conclave of Quel’Thalas that would happen, they were nearly always well attended and were popular.
Could be worth reaching out to Itharie and seeing if she’d maybe be able to help in some way
There’s plenty of us all who’ve attended past ones who could help with what was done in the past, but the experts would be the ones who hosted it previously, the rp it created before with ic meet ups before getting an official invitation helped to create a bit of an exclusive buzz about it (and the listening to gossip while queuing to go into the Hall of Blood was always a bit of a bonus).

I remember the Conclaves! I was part of them on my old guild, do need to get in touch with Itharie for sure, If they hold another Conclave, could be an interesting backdrop for discussion during said Conclave.
I think putting together a group of those who are interested in helping organizing (Group on discord, not a server itself, god knows I’m in enough of those!) to better organize. It wouldn’t be for a few months yet, got a few plans to do first, Server Event wise.
