[N-RP] SPOILERS | Voice of the Emperor - Arathi Hallowfall Guild 🔥

You all knew it was coming.

We are seekers of light,
We are the holders of the eternal brazier of our emperor,
The Flame’s light guides us wherever we stride,
We are the stars that guide through the never-ending night.
My life for the Empire.
My life for the emperor.

The Voice of the Emperor

:fire: Lore Context:

Some ~2800 years ago an expedition of Arathi Humans and Quel’thalas High Elves traveled east beyond the Eastern Kingdoms into the treacherous and forbidden Storming Sea. Presumed dead and forgotten to history, these people founded their own land within the Storming Sea, carrying on the name of the Arathi Empire and electing Emperors who receive divine visions.
Less than a decade ago, an Expedition of this Empire set out in a fleet of airships in pursuit of the Emperor’s vision of a holy star under the earth, of Beledar. The expedition arrived at this area which they called Hallowfall but crash-landed and found themselves beset by Nerubians, vile Kobyss, and Void creatures, with no way home.

:fire: TWW Content:

Following the arrival of the Alliance and Horde, after years of fending for themselves in the most treacherous conditions imaginable, the Arathi Hallowfall now enjoy a new breath of hope. Trade has been revitalised with the Earthen, opened with the surface, and a counter-offensive has begun in the south.
But the Prior of the Sacred Flame fell as its leader sought to create a necromantic army from the honoured dead, the last of the expedition’s mages perished before he could make a portal back to Arathor, and traitors abound throughout Hallowfall, Xal’atath worshippers who call themselves the Cult of Night.

Ranks

High Priest: Attempting to fill the shoes of the fallen Prioress, High Priest Lumenius returned to Mereldar and began orchestrating efforts under General Steelstrike, forming the Voice of the Emperor and acting as a compass for it.

Leader: Expedition Leads, be they Military, Ecclesiastical, Civilian, or otherwise, are invited to fulfil the role of commander and disciplinarian for the Voice.

Honoured: Heroes that have distinguished themselves, deserving of great respect and special privileges, these will be recommended for commendation and promotion when we finally find our way home.

Specialist Role, Lamplighter: Brave paladins and warriors who protect the innocent and push back to darkness, ensuring the Sacred Flame and the Towers keep burning, ensuring the Expedition does not get overrun.

Clergy: Following a Hierarchy of Prelate (Leader), Monk, Acolyte, and Lay, the Clergy are essential to the Expedition, keeping faith and hope alive so that the people do not give in to despair. Their duties include the making of holy wine, the burning of the honoured dead, delivering sermons to the people, and healing the wounded.

Stalwart: Following a Hierarchy of Captain (Leader), Stalwart, Sentry, and Reserve, the soldiers are the backbone of the Expedition, fighting by whatever means necessary to survive and to protect their families. Aeroknights may join as Specialist roles.

Civilian: These are the traders, farmers, and otherwise, who keep the entire Expedition fed and provided for, and with the new rise of trade for the Hallowfall Arathi, traders will find a lucrative new career in which they will receive great respect, and perhaps see the outsider world.

Converts / Outsiders: The Arathi Hallowfall are welcoming of all the aid they could possibly get, and factions of heroic, friendly outsiders who have already distinguished themselves as champions are just what the doctor ordered. As a result, the Voice in Mereldar will welcome Outsiders who wish to assist, and offer a probationary position as Converts to the Sacred Flame and Empire for Outsiders who wish to see the light and join more fully.

The Voice of the Emperor is a catch-all Arathi Hallowfall guild welcoming Arathi Hallowfall players of Elf and Human Races and all classes barring Death Knight, Warlock, or Mage (though the latter exist, the last of the expedition has perished, though he did mention that some at the Prior practice conjuration, so a mage character may be a magic-curious priest for now).
Outsiders will be welcome to join the ranks, either with long-term intent or short-term.
The guild will endeavour to assist the Violet Vanguard in settling into the area and seeks to form a strong alliance and intimate relationship with the people.
Events will follow both tried and true WoW-style DM events including styles of gritty survival, adventure, or festivities, and there will also be more TTRPG-style long-run campaigns to focus on character development and choice.

Why: Hallowfall is an absolutely beautiful area and the Arathi are a cool and fascinating culture which I believe will be built on greatly in the future. I believe some people may be inclined to make them witch-burning zealots or psychotic, fascist crusaders, which is simply not how they’re presented in the game at all, and so in an effort to see their actual in-game representation done accurately, the Voice of the Emperor has formed.

Rules are basic, no ERP, keep IC and OOC separate, avoid making other players uncomfortable, or ruining the reputation of the guild.

Whisper or mail Lumenius for more information, check out the Discord, check out the AA, and/or apply through Guild Finder.

Thank you all, and may the Light of the Sacred Flame guide you.

This looks interesting, maybe I’ll hit you up on my human once I’ve done all the story content on Shadow!

Sounds great, look forward to it.

Someone whose name begins with V sent me in game mail and I, like a fool, accidentally misclicked Delete instead of Reply, so if you see this, I apologise. In answer to your question, that would still be appropriate as an Outsider.

Hey, this looks amazing, will the guild be cross faction allowing Belfs (current Belfs interested in what happened to their kin who disappeared) and those who will rp Quel’dorei who went down with the humans from Horde side?

We did.
And yet we love it.

I wonder if some scarlet enthusiasts will try to hijack them lol.
anyway, good luck with this endeavor, Light be with you

This sounds absolutely wonderful! I’ve been hoping to see Hallowfall groups popping up since making the idea for mine a few months ago.

Unfortunately I’m already in a guild, but I’d love to work with you guys somehow when things get going!

May Beledar guide this guild to greatness!

Thank you all for the kind messages, we’re getting some decent interest drumming up. If anyone is considering making any Arathi alts, feel free to contact me, I’ll be happy to help in any way I can

The guild will be Cross-Faction, yes, the Arathi don’t seem to have any reservations regarding the two factions and obviously don’t share any of the negative history.

Dunno about that, they have a bad history with trolls :stuck_out_tongue:

But yeah, for the most part thats ancient history so the Arathi bieng anti-Horde when Quel’thalas is a part of it wouldn’t make sense.

Haha yeah

Mind, the Arathi seem to regard those times as legends, which I suppose makes sense. They’ve only had stories passed down from the original expedition, no Forest Trolls or ruins or continued civilisation and records to remind them of it. They notably don’t seem to have any regard for a difference between people of Elven or Human descent in their society, they are simply all Arathis.

I can only wish you the best of luck.

Will be interesting to possibly interact with you guys, especially when it comes to the clearly Naaru ship type thing called Beledar.

Thank you for the kind words, I look forward to roleplaying with the Order of Oronaar. Beledar definitely looks Naaru in nature, doesn’t it? It reminds me of a giant version of the Light’s Heart.

Also thanks to Withers of the Gilnean Infantry for helping me get the appropriate character on forums.

This is the guild leader character.

fantastic idea, are you lot planing to also interact with other local zone factions rps? Earthen from ringing deeps for instance, etc.

Yes, we’ll be looking to forge friendships with the Earthen, so may do brief excursions into other zones.

Looking good! Hope this goes somewhere for you guys!

Thanks, I’ve always had positive experiences roleplaying with the Dwarves of the Morodnir so hopefully our guilds will be able to interact in the future.

I’ve had questions regarding races and classes for Outsiders.

Everyone is welcome as Outsiders, barring Undead, including Death Knights, due to their shadowy nature and the troubles the Hallowfall Arathi are having with risen dead.

Void Elves are precariously accepted on the condition they can prove themselves, due to the Arathi Hallowfall seemingly being more liberal due to desperation in needing all the help they can get. Nevertheless, this is more exception. Void Elves who are roleplayed as normal High Elves are obviously fine.
