[N-RP] SPOILERS | Voice of the Emperor - Arathi Hallowfall Guild đŸ”„

They seem to have more of a problem with necromancy than being undead, truth be told. There’s folks of all factions in the isles, and I sincerely doubt they’d be given any more scrutiny than other outsiders such as warlocks and void elves.

Faerin takes in a few undead NPCs in the Nerubian Zone’s storyline, and the sidequest you mention of void elves proving themselves in Hallowfall also touches up on demon hunters, death knights, warlocks, proving that their stance on them is exactly the same as it is for void elves.

Again, your guild, your rules, but if you are trying to accurately represent the faction as it stands in-game, they haven’t told any particular playable outsider races or classes to scamper off.

Good luck!

I plan to make an Arathi at some point, though once the initial hype for the expansion has died down and we’ve seen where the currently locked campaign quests take the overall narrative of the Arathi themselves.

You make a fair point, it may be worth taking them on a case-by-case basis. I do want to accurately represent the faction. We know from a conversation between Faerin and Anduin that people like Void Elves and Undead would not be accepted back home in Arathi, so some may still hold reservations, but their general existential desperation does seem to show them not turning away or snubbing anyone, so it may be worth relaxing the rules on that, if so I’ll cross the bridge if and when any Undead wish to join

Thank you, when you do make your Arathi, please consider joining the Voice.

I think you folks should also add “Inquisitor” as a rank, considering there is a BfA title from the Witch-questline that can be used for that IC. And it fits the theme.

Also, color me interested. Could I (for example) be part of it as a LFD Paladin? Or is “Outsiders” still limited to Humans and Elves?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe there are Inquisitors in the Hallowfall Expedition? Maybe they need some, with all those ominous sounding totally-not-cultists wandering Mereldar.

Still, I’d be hesitant until we’ve got proof they exist.

Fair and vaild point. Just mentioning it beforehand.

An Inquisitor tho could also serve as a Judge in case of social conflicts between citizens. Which is part of an Inquisitors job basically.

Honestly works just as well as an initiative some enterprising individuals set up themselves considering the introduction of the shadow cult hiding among them, even if the place lacks NPCs called ‘inquisitor’ walking around

I do appreciate this portrayal being so accurate so far, and I would love to meet them in Hallowfall whenever we actually manage to Argently get there

This is my current position, I appreciate the suggestion on an Inquisitor role, but I feel like that risks conflating them with real world religious organisations, or other universe. As Kyrené says, something akin to it may be necessary to root out the Cult of Night, but I shall be sticking with ranks presented in game for now.

Besides, the expansion just started!

Maybe we’ll see an “Inquisitor” in the future, or even in a couple expacs when we visit the Arathi Empire’s homeland!

It does seem pretty inevitable that we’re going to end up there sooner or later, which is exciting.

We’re half-way there already with one quest explicitly named Sacred Flame Inquisition, even if it is merely the name of a quest.

Haha yeah, I suppose so

I’ll consider joining once I’ve leveled up my alchemist Arathi. Good luck and happy recruiting!

Having joined the first event with these fine folk, it was an interesting experience and quite a mutual culture shock.

A Knight of Arathor, but from Stromgarde???

And they were Arathi from the Arathi Empire but not from Stromgarde or the Arathi Highlands?!?!

10/10 would join in fending of a Nerubian assaukt again!

The Skirmish at Light’s Redoubt

High Priest Lumenius left an urgent notice in Mereldar, requesting aid at Light’s Redoubt in response to troubling scout reports of a spike in Nerubian activity at the lost Livia’s Patience.

In response to the call to arms, a host of Lamplighters, Stalwarts, Clergy and even some Outsiders appeared to assist in the defence of the Lamplighter’s headquarters and the first line of defence in the west against Nerubian incursions.

The reports were proven correct as harassers from Azj-Kahet assaulted the outpost. Ranged Stalwarts and a Lamplighter were sent to the stop of the Dawntower to man the ballistae and fend off flying swarmers, Lamplighters, Stalwarts, Outsiders and Clergy defending the base of the Dawntower from burrowers, and the majority of the Arathi host crossing the bridge to trigger the Nerubian ambush early and draw them into the outpost, where all might descend upon the wretched creatures.

The night culminated in a grand battle against a Nerubian Lord in which the Arathi used their numbers and tactics to surround and overwhelm the gargantuan monster.

Moments later a distress flare fired in Livia’s Patience caused the Arathi to rush to the aid of whoever still lived down there. The Arathi discovered outsiders and survivors of Dalaran who had been captured by Nerubians but had made an escape, with the aid of some friendly Lamplighters and others.

The Arathi escorted the beleaguered escapees to Mereldar and assisted them in settling in.

An absolutely brilliant first event and way to kick off the guild, thank you so much to everyone who came, including the 18 guild members who attended and the collaborators from Dalaran who fused the end of their own event with ours.

The next event will be held on the following Tuesday, 17th of September.
