Nathanos pre-patch spoilers

What was their sole purpose of existing? Because I bet you don’t even know it.

Their leaders are both still alive, and Sylvanas got the most love out of any character in wow history by far. They still have their population and lands to rebuild unlike Night Elves.

Nathanos is confirmed dead by players who completed the quest. Sylvanas told them buh bye and she’s in Shadowlands doing her thing.

Their sole purpose was to serve Sylvanas and survive. They had nothing else after WoTLK.

They lost the only way to replace their ranks, Sylvanas’ valkyrs. They’re as good as dead now.

Which lands do they have that the Night elves don’t? How are they at any advantage comparing to the night elves?

and what happens when he dies? He goes to the maw, and who is waiting for him in there? Sylvanas. All part of her plan as always.

Their sole purpose was to serve Sylvanas and kill Arthas. Sylvanas wanted to kill herself after Arthas died, she never cared about the forsaken, she just used them for her own goals.

“Serving Sylvanas” isn’t what a race should be about. Don’t forget that it was Sylvanas who took the home away from the forsaken.

They still have all their zones?

Night Elves lost Ashenvale and Teldrassil and basically every town in Darkshore was destroyed and blighted, but they don’t need any towns anyway since they’re all dead.

They were destroyed during the Sundering anyway.

Again with the speculations. I remember night elf players also cried for months that Tyrande is gonna die and I said a million times she won’t.

They wouldn’t make him a freakin world boss if he wasn’t intended to die for good. He’s lost.

It’s not up to you to decide what a race should be about.

It was Blizzard tyvm. And if Sylvanas didn’t blight it, the Alliance would take it for themselves. It was gone either way.

Go stroll around Undercity to see what Tirisfal looks like now.

So, do you have any proof that she doesn’t? We’re only told that she is going to die to her “powers” if we don’t find a way to save her which hasn’t happened yet.

Yes they actually would, he’s a self insert and thinking logically, he’ll come back in SL.

And it’s not up to you to say that the sole purpose of a race should be serving someone that just uses them for their own goals.

Yea, and the only reason the Alliance attacked was because Sylvanas ordered the extermination of the Night Elves, and again it’s only a city and not everything.

A part of tirisfal is destroyed, Silverpine untouched. Meanwhile Ashenvale is a Horde zone, Darkshore is in a worse state than Tirisfal and we both know how it looks like in Teldrassil.

They have Darkshore left which is mostly destroyed. The forsaken have a partly destroyed Tirisfal left and an untouched Silverpine forest. More territory than the Night Elves.

Is Nathanos “death” actually relevant in any way? After all we know that all souls right now go into the Maw…and guess who’s waiting there?

I read some datamines that say otherwise. Plus they don’t wanna go to that length with the night elf story, I’m 100% sure. Don’t wanna go further with this, but she will be fine.

Eveb if he comes back in SL he is still lost. The Forsaken won’t get him back. He’s out of the picture anyway.

Seeing as I’ve played this race as it is for 15 years and I want to preserve it’s lore and identity, it’s very much my business to speak up.

It was a trade for your loss, that’s all it was. They destroyed Undercity because they took Teldrassil away.

Similar to how Vol’jin was sacrificed for Varian.
Only that Varian died a hero and Vol’jin … stabbed by a demon hue hue.

Fair enough. But don’t worry, this new Horde will give the Night elf their territories back, while Sylvanas and Nathanos are gone for good with 0 chances of returning.

You being sure doesn’t mean anything. In the Shadowlands beta, there are no signs of saving Tyrande.

If 4 years ago someone said that the Night Elves would lose all of their zones and all of their people in a pre patch, people would’ve thought that

either.

Says who? Most of our leaders are in the maw in Shadowlands. do you think they’re all gone?

And I’ve played Horde up until the point where I realized what it has become. I used to like the Horde that was lead by thrall, and I was really happy about Vol’jin becoming war chief just for him to be killed off later. Point is, the Horde is not supposed to be like Germany in WW2, yet they became like this in BfA.

It’s not a trade as the Night Elves lost everything to the Horde and the Horde lost 1 capital to themselves.

Says who? The Horde wants them all dead, why would they give up any territory, nobody could force them to do that.

Don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll redeem Sylvanas so she can get a seventh cinematic and a third expansion dedicated only to her where she can be the biggest mary sue and always get away with her crimes.

Okay. Clearly I have nothing more to tell you. I wish you a nice day, going to bash some Nathanos head now.

It could be punishment for failing to kill our good old favorite Loa of Death…?

What I’d like to see is how characters like Anduin, Jaina and Thrall (who all have powers within their own means) got captured whilst Tyrande was not.

Apparently Tyrande fought her attackers off, atleast her powers were good enough for that I guess

Jaina commands a battleship and is known for teleportation spells and Anduin mass-resses everyone + plus Holy Light against Undead is super effective, yet neither could get themselves to safety, yet Tyrande can.

Plot device, me thinks.

Well, I guess her powers have to be useful for something if she has to die later because of them, but she ends up in the maw anyway as she goes there.

Eww no ;<

Nay, never, my characters die with the real Horde…, warcriminals to some, warheroes to others.

That’s one of the reasons I’ll probably dust off my Mag’har Hunter. Their race lore is kinda weird, their leader is shallow, but have two major perks: little exposure and unapologetic warmongering.
Also, I’m getting the impression they’ll get some relevance once the upcoming expansion hits and we are down to hunt Evul Light.
In the meantime, I’ll take the upcoming continuation of BfA (also known as “How Sylvanas character went to sh!t”), and gloss over it as some lucid dream about vampires, winged smurfs, and goo people.

Ps: Might feel invested in the whole Bwonsamdi thing for some time, but wouldn’t put my money on it. All of it seems like Valsharah 2.0 with some troll cameo in side dungeon.

For those who arguing about the Real Horde, just a quick reminder, that Nathanos looks like a human. He does not looks like an orc, or even forsaken.

Vol’jin will become LOA soon. Demigod. While our favorite High King is gone.

It does not seems so. Teldrassil (2 locations) will never going to be back. Azshara, Night Elves location, that was transformed to the Horde Flag on the map, also will always be Horde.
Ashenvale probably also will stay at least 50 % occupied by the Horde, because Silwerwing sentinels were destroyed by the Horde, and all the cities were destroyed there also. Blizzard favorite Warsong orcs will never going to leave this place.

Finally Darkshores. Sometimes ago, trolls were trying to take this land. Night Elves managed to defeat them. It was the fist ever Night Elves victory when fighting against the Horde.

But those trolls have returned and took even more bigger part of the Darkshores in BfA.
We know that Night Elves have won the Warfront, but I’ll bet there will be a quest that will state that some trolls and Horde camps are still active in Darkshores, killing of Night Elves.

btw Elaria forgot to mentioned, that a lot of the Night Elves also became traitors and joined the Horde. How many forsakens are on the Alliance side?

I think the reason why Night Elves went to Nordrassil, was to give all Night Elves lands to the Horde. While Night Elves will retake 2 neutral locations Nordrassil + Moonglade (since now trolls and humans can be druids, and Cenarius circle is useless).

They lost the only way to replace their ranks, Sylvanas’ valkyrs.

Just a reminder. Valkyrs have appeared in Cata. Before Cata Forsaken were awakening in starting quests in Classic.

There will be also Argent crusaders helping.

I hope blizzard stops killing val’kyrs. After all what Sylvanas did to them they deserve a moment of hope IMO. #free_the_dark_val’kyr

Sylvanas could ensure some special treatment for him.

To escape again? :stuck_out_tongue:

Finally we can get the game story… in the game. Hopefully.

Well, what if his “death” and arrival in the Maw would end up being a “waking call” for Sylvanas? [fanfic territory] And somewhere down the like we get him as someone who remembers the best about Sylvanas, and starts to care about the forsaken like Sylvanas once did. And we end up with some forsaken going into the future with Nathanos and the horde, and some, clinging to their past lives and convincing Calia to lead them to the alliance

I hope the number of “twists” will be moderate and we get coherent and logical-ish elements of the story.

Nah, as an alliance (mostly) player I would rather prefer if the developers use the time we spend in shadowlands to “reset” their approach to factions and ask themselves and the community “what made this alliance vs. horde concept work originally and when it went wrong”.

Ironically, the forsaken now are just like the living lordaeronian refugees: can not come back to homeland and somewhat well greeted by the others.

Thrall literally states that the horde is not the horde without the forsaken
so the forsaken are not quite rejects or outcasts on the horde territories.

The forsaken are masters to endure and adapt. They will find a way into the future. And I do not think they need others to tell them where their future should be. [ninja edit: others - outsiders. Like Calia #give_calia_back_to_alliance]

The story of val’kyr is a strange one. So we might keep them around in the future. If the devs will want to continue the plot line about Genn freeing Eyir. Maybe that would be enough to ask for a favour. Maybe she could help to undo the pact that bounds the val’kyr. There are some caveats with this possibility, like, that Greymane would not lift a finger to do something that is not for the alliance, unless the devs force him to act out of character, but the story certainly has a way to keep val’kyrs should the devs make that choice.
