True enough.
Same was true for the Orcs before WC3.
And lets not forget that it was also true for both Othmar Garithos and Daelin Proudmoore, only in hindsight was more added to their characters, to make them look less one dimensional and more relatable characters that were antagonists, but not without their reasons.
I still think it was a big miss that Daelin’s death, while Jaina stood aside, didn’t cause more of an uproar within the Alliance.
Since he was one of the original commanders in the Alliance of Lordaeron during the second war.
The Forsaken murdering Garithos and feeding his corpse to ghouls after promising the New Alliance their kingdom back didn’t cause a reaction either, go figure lol.
eh the Amani are weak they forfeited their home to their clearly superior evolved trolls the blood elves their mistake was thinking they was fabulous enough to win the troll wars with some tiny help from the humans we was able to crush this weaklings and secure our domination of the region
They were not villain bat in the novel, their moties were laid clear that they want to reclaim their home. We were allowed to play them and Zul’Jin is to this day iconic hero.
There is difference between really crude narration, and when you see their actions in motion. And Amani really didn’t do anythining wrong and yet were contantly framed as the evil guys.
While elves constantly still some nasty sheet and notonly get away from that but her whitewashed.
This is why I was annoyed that Zul was made to be blood slug worshipper, he was a perfect person to call out the terrible double standarts.
“Hex Lord Malacrass - Witch Doctor responsible for the imprisonment of the Loa in Amani warriors.” “Hex Lord Malacrass has done the unthinkable and sealed the essences of several mighty troll animal gods in their strongest champions … keeping the darkest one for himself.”
Because it was idiotic narration just to put Amani under the sword again, and show them as a threat. But Amani werealways concerned about their territories only. And you have entire context in the Cataclysm trailer which is showing their plight.
But blizzard never wants to to show it because it would make elves and humans look bad. Blizzard has colonialist mentality when it comes to troll depiction, I can see how balant it is and call it out.
I’m not denying that they put this NPC, but I know why they put it and it was really gross move.
Amani were done dirty. You should pray for nelves to not get such a treatment.
They also started as savages that attack everything that moves.
