That sounds like a good idea!
In my guild it is the balkans and polish players that are complete muppets.
Trying to solo patchwerk as melee, standing next to the tank on sapp, trying to solo abominations on KT as melee etc.
However we always do Raz first so if we fail we can just reset the raid.
People need to understand that the âhardâ part with this achivement is the fact that you are depending on 24 other players and their ability to get it (imagine that in the MMOiest part of a MMO: A raid!)
Having this as a personal achivement would be a joke, a meme, and only a person who wants a cookie for wiping properly would wear the title or see any worth in it.
Personal achivement? Are you joking? How often does a MT/OT die even in the worse PUG? How would a healer only spam healing himself have accomplished anything worth anything by just not giving a F about anybodybut himself? A DPS not engaging a fight to avoid mechanics? Is that achivements!?
We already have clowns dying in OS at the pull to get that lava achivement, do we really need more crap like that?
The reason why people want it, why it rewards a title/mount and why people feel a pressure is because thereâs more to it than just showing up.
If you always have a monkey dying around you then you are playing with the wrong group of people, or dont deserve to play with the right one.
I would have been 4000 rating, a pro fotball player and a IT billionare, but everybody around me were bad all the time and I just stayed in that environment
Yeah itâs literally an achievement. Have you not checked achievements at all? blind
It is only an achievement and it was like that back then too. I mean, you depend on your guild to not mess up and get tactics right to down bosses for gear.
These achievements specifically always made me eyeroll and not bother because of the sole reliance on others, and I only got it back in the day accidentally after being in a raid and just by chance no one died!
This post worries me⌠while I am extremely happy about this because i want the plagued proto drakeâŚ
This post also implies the possibility that wrath classic isnât going to be a permanent addition to world of warcraft âGood luck earning these rewards in the months to come!â
Please please please⌠i want to level my main and my alts on lich king for the remainder of my time with World of Warcraft, please leave it as its own option if you decide to release cataclysm.
Wotlk is the only expansion I ever want to play, and i could spend over 10 years on it with alts and such.
Please dont remove wrath of the lich king.
Why would it be permanent? They are talking about âcataclysmâ classic. So if it would be âpermanentâ you will be playing shadowlands and BFA in a few years.
I understand people who want the drakes to be permanently obtainable. It is stupid to remove the possibility entirely for latecomers (it was also stupid back in 2008).
I also understand people who want drakes to be removed, to preserve the prestige for earning something.
Isnât ilvl cap on the achievement without removing the drakes the solution to satisfy both camps?
Anyways, I am glad for this. Prestige or not, everyone should have the possibility to obtain the drakes, even players that joined later.
Just leaving it as is, is no extra work for blizzard and is therefore not associated with any cost. Capping the ilvl would be nice, but it probably costs ressources/money to implemend.^^
You are b******g about an achievement that is dependent on other people, not only you. Itâs mostly just pure luck that you happen to have a good guild and that nobody dies by accident (or a bug).
I donât care how someone got the drakes. All I care is that I put time and effort to have them. I earned them myself. Doesnât matter how or when. Itâs a reward for playing the game. Even if they stay in the game after Ulduar patch, you still need dedicated people to do all the achievements, and thatâs not an easy task to do.
Was not planning on replying any further in this thread, but plans can always change.
The so-called âb*****gâ is not purely towards this announcment, although it was triggered by it, but more to the direction Blizzard is taking WoW in general, making everything available for everyone. Obviously this is a simplification since itâs a wide topic, but most players who have been playing wow for 10+ years knows that the game has become significantly easier and simplified in the expansions following WotLK and even in WotLK itself.
What youâre saying here, that itâs just âpure luckâ that people happen to end up in good guilds, being able to do these things is just not true. You create your own luck in regards to these things based on how much effort you put into the game and what you prioritize on doing while playing it. To even argue to the fact that people donât end up getting it due to people âdying by accidentâ or by a bug is just nonsense, the point of the achievements are to pull together a solid enough group to be able to coordinate the achievements together, wich itself is the actual challenge. If you donât find yourself in a guild or context strong enough to accomplish these things in current content, either youâre in the wrong place or not up for the challenge itself. Especially since youâve been playing this game since WotLK began.
These rewards are not rewards for merely playing the game, these are rewards for doing the challenges under current content. So should all similar achievement rewards be, even though they are not. Saying that itâs challenging to do these achievements when Ulduar has released when youâre Ulduar geared is just provoking as itâs not even very difficult to achieve with Naxxramas gear.
Like I mentioned earlier, I do not have all of the achievements, currently a work in progress. If they were to remove the rewards when Ulduar releases, I will not be dissapointed in Blizzard but myself for not achieving them, and so should you if you donât.
Good luck.
Best regards
Hampilicious
True ⌠evidenced by the fact that raid difficulty has pretty much only gone up each expansion, to the point where a single phase of a raid boss and even trash mobs in dungeons have more mechanics (that also often wipe you out if not managed) than bosses prior to LK.
Or that the version of the hard modes that weâre getting made even the most try hard classic players struggle like crazy on PTR.
Good decision, only people who build their ego entirely on video game achievements are gonna be mad.
Great change.
P.S. If you are mad at this change I suggest touching some grass. Peace.
Let me tell you something which you do not like to hear.
Nowadays, in retail, you will see more plagued/black proto drakes flying around than Ulduar/ICC ones.
But why? Werenât they orignally removed and the others stayed in?
Correct, but its because they have VALUE.
Nobody wants to ride the Ulduar/ICC drakes in retail bc every boosted green geared character can solofarm them.
Blizzard was right to remove the Naxxramas meta achiev drakes back then, and should have also done so with the Ulduar and ICC ones. The reason they did not, is because already back in 2008 the two-hour weekend Monicas and Peters flodded the forum.
What matters for this company is that the 2h weekend Monicas and Peters pay the same monthly fee as all those real players, who ultimately make the game.
Those are exactly those players youâve lost between back in original WotLK and today. And you are doing a perfect job here to repeat history.
Congrats.
This really isnât enough. Undying/Immortal should be individual achievements. I donât understand why theyâre not. Major fail from Blizzard as always!
Would be too easy then, would it not?
Keeping the achievs is fine aslong itâs somewhat of a challenge.
I dislike FFXIV but one thing they do good is scaling. Just keep old dungeon achievements and only make it count if you wear for example max 4450GS/cap of 226 ilvl items. This way you still need to pay attention without face rolling the entire thing.
You can do the same with all other FOS that got removed just to keep it challenging. It should be fairly easy to inplant a orb of some kind at the start of AQ for example to downscale you to 60 and adjust your talents/spells to a lvl 60 character. Your lvl 80 gear this way cant be equiped so you are forced to get a decent lvl 60 set, which makes old content viable.
Just bring back all of it including Scarab Lord, Armani War bear etc and make it how it actually was when you wanted to obtain it.
But ye noway Blizzard is capabele of doing this properly. Timewalking for example is a joke in retail also way easier than it supposed to be.
Then introduce something like âAhead of the Curveâ for those who have earned some achievements such as Immortal in Naxx P1 like me.
I donât really see why aslong itâs exactly the same challenge.
People should stop getting attached to some pixels to feel elite.
Itâs pretty bad to remove interesting things from the game.
Just keep it as it is but keep it exactly as challenging as it supposed to be. People can do it at their own pace or either find a group with like minded people later on. It will still be just as challenging aslong Blizzard does proper scaling.
There will still be people that wonât ever get it.
What I dislike is that things are ââeasierââ to get, this is bad game design and should never happen.
The biggest challenge is getting 25 people with the same mindset to get Black & Plague Proto at this point that isnât so special. What it does is forcing people to play in a guild or look for dedicated mindlike people etc since pugging is gonna have a bad time.
It wonât change the difficuly if you keep the achievements as challenging as it was with adding for example a Ilvl cap of 226/item.
