Naxxramas Opening Time and Scourge Invasion Adjustments

What a f*in meme.

Inc official message from Blizz. " The Dark Portal opens 31. December at midnight CET. See you soon in Outland."

Classic Naxx will probably have an even lower lifetime than it did on retail. But way more will be able to destroy it because of the warrior / WB meta.

Releasing Naxx so early to feed some more money to your stock holders and Activision leadership… Too early between AQ and Naxx -_- We have cleared AQ from first week, and we still did not see some parts from gear that should drop… bad luck on drops yeah… but such short time is d*ck move anyway.

  • Releasing at the start of december… how many normal guilds will raid and work properly during Christmas Time? This is attack at the communities in base… just dumb decision.
If Invasion was opened for whole december => Naxx in January… that would lessen strain on many social guilds that are into raiding… many “hc players” from those guilds will try to flee to “HC guilds” that will raid even during Christmas time.
1 week Shadowlands… next week Naxx… screwed one raid time, why not the whole month? Moneygrubbers… want to finish the year on high note -_-

I sent that message… wrong character to use for Classic topic… -_-

Looks like you taking some wild guesses here. Classic retail was played by a very small amount back then and if you missed it has been naxx on ps every year since Nost shut down 2016. And guess what, these people will raid naxx until tbc comes out. The bigger servers will have a much longer lifetime than 2006 since they will do alt raids as well.

Why would Christmas times be that bad? Afaik we having a pandemic right now everywhere in the world and most people will stay home, which meaning Christmas and New Year’s Eve (Thursday) will be the most problematic day for raiders that scheduled this day. So guilds cant move a raid when people are suppose to be home and even less people will work during these times? And if you are super casual I don’t think people will cry that they miss one raid ID this week.

That’s the beauty of RNG, some items may not drop for you at all. If we had to wait for everyone to see everything drop we would probably not see Naxx for a few years.

We have been farming C’thun significantly longer than people had in vanilla at Naxx release. The same goes for Ragnaros and Nefarian. People generally have better gear now than world first guilds had back in vanilla.

I completely agree with you, I have a warlock and a warrior and have done almost every AQ40 reset, I’m still rocking basically 2/3 BWLZG/AQ20 gear and tier 2.5 pieces since that’s guaranteed drop.
Everything else is just such low drop rate that such a short AQ40 cycle will leave alot of people wanting to do AQ40 but there’s nowhere to go for it.

AQ doesn’t go anywhere. You can still keep farming it for any items you still want.

So, is the plan still to give us the patch tomorrow? Or will we have to wait until after the 8 hour maintenance on wednesday?

Can’t Wait!

You’re already overgeared for naxx anyway, relax.

Not sure why you think TBC releasing at midnight would be an issue. It almost certainly will be released at midnight. Literally every WoW expansion ever has unlocked at midnight European time. It happened last week if you weren’t aware.

Midnight releases in WoW are pretty fun imo.

Couldn’t care less for fake world firsts, but would be nice on occasion to perhaps rotate between who benefits from the most convenient launch times between the EU and US. Seems EU gets the short straw each time.

Traditionally Weds/Thurs are the priority raid day for many guilds and yes, it’s easy to say “Just change your raid day” but that in practice isn’t as straight forward as that for all.

We will still get a raid in this reset so it’s not the end of the world by any stretch of the imagination, but would be nice from time to time to benefit from a better launch time.

So, it is now over 175 hours since the NPCs on Earthshaker said 300 zones were defended, but invasions are still spawning. How long can we actually expect the invasions to continue?

Would like to have an official response on that. On Razorgore it was supposed to end yesterday (Sunday 20th of Dec), since 300 battles were completed the previous Sunday. Monday afternoon and invasions keep spwaning. Does this mean that we go till the 31st ?
