Requisition and bounty quests are hell. They only give 50 rep or so, yet they take huge amounts of time to complete, and they are boring. I am no longer doing them on purpose - I just arrive in Nazjatar, pick up all quests, then do quests with clear objectives and if some of the requisition / bounty quests complete as well, fine, but if they do not (and mostly they do not), then I leave them uncompleted and they vanish the next day. To hell with running for 30 minutes for 50 rep.
Zone layout is very annoying. I don’t know who on the dev team thinks it is interesting to have “complex” terrain, but that has to stop, it is not interesting. Seriously, it’s like they have a competition of who can create the most layered terrain because in their view layered is good and it just is NOT good. It is annoying. Having no clear paths is annoying. Seeing a rare somewhere above or below you (or even on the same level) and not having the slightest clue as to how to get to it is annoying. Stop doing this. “Complex” terrain does not make me want to explore. It just makes me say “to hell with it”.
There are too many mobs. Mobs have tons of HP. Worse, in multiple places mobs do not effing appear until you ride into them. Thanks, phasing. Masterfully done.
Half of the quests are either bugged or have long spawn times for things that are competed for.
The mix of world quests and daily quests is bad, it does not work. What was the big idea? You want world quests - fine, let’s do world quests, you want daily quests - OK, let’s go back to them, but why have a mix? Just why? This seems like a change for the sake of change. There is ZERO novelty here, it feels stupid.
Mechagon is mostly fine. Not terribly great, but whatever. But Nazjatar… Nazjatar is perhaps the worst zone they ever created. Very annoying, uninteresting, unrewarding. (And that’s where they put Azshara. Damn.)
I like the zone tbh and none of the quests so far were difficult to complete. I don’t know where people are coming with these complaints but perhaps some people just got unlucky with the rare kills and whatever.
Any way i agree with you about almost all. I hope the bugs will be solved soon™.
just the monbs around… yes these are many but with a 387 hunter i have easy life to kill the.
I died just falling from above (like on argus)
Lol that’s the way your suppose to do bounty and req quests, you can grind them out later if you want to.
Zone design is amazing complex and the mobs being hard is great. People are moaning when there is still so much to learn, I got stuff in my bags that does something but I dunno what yet.
I really like the zone. Both the aesthetics and the lore surrounding it.
Some quests are perhaps abit out of the way and requires me to do more than just walk to spot A and press my AOE button for 5 minutes - but I like that. Makes the zone feel less like it’s on rails and I have to actually be aware of my surroundings and navigate the terrain.
Edit: I will agree that the zone suffers somewhat from some phasing-issues, but I expect that to be fixed.
Feels like that was their intention almost.
Guess that’s how they differentiate “hardcores” from “casuals” - meaning you’re willing to waste your whole day on navigating across badly designed zone for abysmal reward each and every day, which will allow you to get flying a couple of days earlier.
Nothing actually challenging, like some hardcore aoe grind or tough bosses á la mage tower… Just sheer willingness to sink the ridiculous amount of time (and nerves) into it
That’s the thing - I don’t want to. Because, as I said, these bounty / requisition quests are (a) boring, (b) tedious, and ( c) unrewarding. The complaint is not that there are bounty / requisition quests, the complaint is that they are utterly uninteresting - and the larger complaint of the post is that most of Nazjatar is not very good, and the majority of things are broken in some way.
But you are supposed to get lost and wander around in open world MMO, like WOW is. People forgot this. You are supposed to look for your objectives for long and along that journey get killed by a big bad elite mob, or get lost.
How do people not get it? This is core aspect of an RPG, especially open world one.
Everybody got used to linear streamlines way of playing wow.
Everything you described in Nazjatar is exactly how it should be. Long, tedious, hard, complex, dangerous, it’s all part of the journey, which we all forgot to have.
It’s just I want to done asap asap asap QQ no flying QQ JELLY WQS OMG cant do ti in 10 sec, OMG WHERE ARE BOUNTIES cant be done in 5 min, etc.
Learn to slow your pace and enjoy the game. Trust me, you will like it. If no, it’s not the game for you, until they implement flying.
I would have gladly gotten lost and would have gladly wandered around if this was actually interesting. But it isn’t. It just isn’t.
You walk around, you see a gold star of a rare, it is close to you but there is no clear path to it. And what? Are you feeling excited that you have to figure out the path? With the terrain being done as a seeming competition between the devs of who can make it more unnecessarily complex it might take you 10 minutes to get to the rare. And with the mobs being numerous and bulky, it will take you even longer. By the time you arrive, the rare is going to be dead. So, what’s there to be excited about? You see a star and what? You just ignore it.
Or let’s take requisition quests. Hey, hero, please pick up ten sea flowers. OK, you try picking them up. Suppose that’s not the first time you see those flowers so you know roughly where to find them. Then what? You pick up one or two and then there’s no more, they don’t spawn often. So you do other quests and try to keep tabs on those damn flowers. Pick up one or two more. Still 6-7 more to go. Now what? Camp the area? That’s supposed to be fun?
Didn’t we have precisely that debate about how making quest objectives spawn slowly does not make the quest interesting, it makes the quest tedious - in vanilla / TBC? With the result that quest objectives now spawn fast, making quests sane? What, we are now going back on this? For what reason? Who asked for this?
Nazjatar is a weird mishmash of bogus garbage with many of “ideas” being mistakes of the past. It’s like WoW is now developed by the new guys who have no previous experience with WoW and don’t know what was already tried, what worked and what didn’t work. They just muck around blindly and end up creating an incoherent picture and repeating previous mistakes.
RPG feel? There’s no RPG feel in Nazjatar. There’s just boring incompetence. Invoking the term “RPG” with respect to Nazjatar is similar to how they were selling warfronts as “RTS-like experience”. How much RTS was in warfronts? Nearly zero. Same for how much RPG is in Nazjatar.
The take-away point: if flying did not require questing in Nazjatar, I would have stopped going there. The End.
Well at the end of the day this is personal preference and as such cannot be right or wrong. I find it interesting, you do not, so it’s pointless to argue. But since you are inclined to make dedicated topic about how you dislike it, I made one where I said why I like it.
Note that the reason you find it borring is probably because game is almost 15 years old. Back then we enoyed more playing in Westfall than in Nazjatar, even though game wise Nazjatar is far super in every aspect. But it all always comes down to same issue - people want to reinvoke the same feeling they had 15 years ago, which is impossible, since your brain is already wired differently.
