Need clarification on pvp system for 9th

Hey there,
So all my mates and I are really looking forward to release of the pvp system. We love wpvp (not camping) and BGs in a somewhat fair and even matchup.
That’s why there is still a big concern left unclear:
Will the system allow full premades vs pug groups or will it be the updated SoD system?
No real pvp player enjoyed the 5min afk games against pug groups… and when going vs other premades, the team that lost first battles would immediately give up. That wasn’t actual pvp
Please give us premade vs premade and max 5man queues in pug games.

Anyone wanting the old system (with today’s min/max mindset) is not a real PvP player but merely wants to rush to fast and easy rewards for PvE without actually having to engage in real PvP.
Let the PvP players actually enjoy BGs again please

Real pvpers want the dungeon finder like queue gone and replaced with premade only with a RBG rating system for rewards instead.

While I agree with you, that would be awesome. There needs to be an option for players to queue into a BG alone or with 1-2 friends
RBGs would be lovely but that won’t happen

There is world pvp for that. There are no dungeons designed for fewer than 5 people and no raid designed for fewer than 20. Why does there have to be BGs for fewer than 10?

Group quests, dungeons and raids should teach you that you should group up for success, no reason for solo content to exist in a social game like wow, especially classic.

If I know blizzard well enough, they will let premades stomp pugs 100%

and those people will rather stay as a spirit than group up to avoid bots & leeches. More than 90% of premades are really bad and can easily lose to a decent premade, at least if it is free of afkers, bots & people queuing up with full greens.

Well then there shouldn’t be BiS PvE rewards for it, should there? I really don’t wanna go to AV either, but I have to for my epic offhand and pvp blue set bonus. So of course I will run from boss to boss and report anyone fighting in the field of grief for, well, griefing. I don’t intent to ever target an enemy player in AV until exalted. It is what it is, I don’t want to be there any more then you want me to be there. That is, at all.

Oh Nicolay u poor lost soul.
It’s a game… if you despise content and you still do it for hours in a recreational activity then there’s something seriously messed up with you.
It’s understandable to put in effort that you would dislike in real life achievements from time to time. But to do it in a video game that is supposed to be a change from irl responsibilities is just mentally ill :joy:
Must be the new generation that doesn’t get anything done in life outside of pixel achievements :pensive:

Yes. I’m sure everyoe will love the RMT Andy Warriors charging at them with BIS gear + consumables and ofc epic mount.

I was excited for PvP at first but looking at how things now I’m not even gonna bother.

I guess I really triggered you. Sorry. See you in AV

Im a physician… Ill people always trigger me, even if all help is lost :confounded:

It will be the same as ERA and yes if BG is big enough you can premade IN a PUG, like it or not. Premades CAN be a life saver for a Pug Alterac valley (for the win) or indeed a nightmare (when an idiot runs it and we lose). You see there are two tactics in AV -
1 - Sole Pug tactic (to win).
2 - Premade tactic (for the win).

They are kind of similar with one major difference the premade SHOULD be bringing in the necessary players to tank the final boss AND dwarves as such the BG is over quickly for the win. The premade group usually leads the raid and as a pugger you let them because 8/10 times and if the premade group is good leads to a win.

The 100% PUG group may well and usually has to kill a few dwarves (outside) BEFORE attacking the boss. Of course there will always be those within the pug (even if you have led 100’s and are at rank 13), that think you have to take every base and tower to reduce the dwarves at the end - when you are ranking to 14 this is too slow and tiresome a tactic. Full PUG groups in AV are often farcical depending on whether people are prepared to listen (how long is a piece of string).

A GOOD RUN organised premade is a JOY to have aboard in AV for the WIN - a BAD ONE deems the PUG tactic has to then take over (time wasted) and premaders dont even know what it is, nor can accept they fooked up (it will always be the fault of the puggers for them wiping the raid, rather than BADLY RUN and BADLY GROUPED PREMADERS). Its like in a movie where a general is hopeless and a soldier has to take over but he wont allow it…usually IN CASE the soldier goes onto win…! The Vanity of premaders…yawn yawn. So if you are going to lead a PREMADE group into AV PLEASE MAKE SURE you know what you are doing and are grouped with the right players to do the job… if you are good then i will be the first to cheer you on. In AV TANKS MAKE THE CALL TO GO ON THE BOSS… if they feel they can handle it that is <— this is where the wipe happens usually a lesser experienced tank biting off more than they can chew. Understand tanks on the final boss its basically ALL ON YOUR CALL…and no one ELSE should be making that call…! This is one of my favourite parts, tanks debating in chat whether they can handle it or not - if you’re sure big guy lol…! DOHHHHHH…! As the echo of memory in my brain reminds me to highlight - IF IN DOUBT WEED THEM ADD DWARVES DOWN (rem to do this you need the GY near the boss (mark a dwarf with skull nuke skull and onto the next one)… LESS IS MORE…!

AB is a whole other kettle of fish --! You can have a small premade group amidst a PUG OR a full pug group against a full premade group (pointless, tiresome and infuriating usually). etc etc.

WG will NOT see a mix within a pug of premaders obviously BUT you might well get a PUG group V a premade which is again and oftentimes pointless and should never happen IMO in either AB or WG.

PS IM a pugger through and through and DONT ask me to heal…!

Cant wait for AV, i will 100% defend every single game to make enemy factions life more annoying and i will have friends to do it with me.

If you ever needed proof that defenders in AV have the same motivation as open world gankers…

Your logic is very flawed little one…
Without a few defenders in AV it’s pure luck whoever wins.
Most AV wins are solely due to having a few people with brain actually interested in pvp, defending and therefore delaying the enemy faction.

Nicolay is right here and his POV is a perfect example of the real issue, which is Blizzard’s fault.

Op, if you wanted PvP to be truly just “people who want to PvP” there has to be zero rewards. That includes items, ranks, ratings, titles, accolades, mounts, anything that any game (wow or not) throws in. If it has those? People will want them and people will get them. People also seek the path of least resistance as that’s just our human nature and sooner or later we will have it streamlined and optimal. What does that look like? Well it looks like RMT, bots, boosts, premades, AV rushing, door skipping etc etc etc

With that in mind good game design would/should be catered to the issue at hand, especially in these modern times. What I mean by that is that the game and it’s systems must be designed to affectively protect the player from themselves and/or maintain the spirit or integrity of something (in this case PvP) by not designing it poorly…or redesigning it when it’s designed poorly.

People queueing AV and rushing passed opposite faction to kill and end the BG as fast as possible isn’t the players fault. It’s Blizzard’s design, granted it was designed 20 years ago but we are long passed “no changes” so it’s down to them to change it.

I do not disagree. I grinded (ground?) AV to exalted 2 times now, so I have some vague idea how it works. I know it is conductive to victory to have ~5 people stay back and hinder enemy pulls of the general. I was pointing out the motivation, to make it as “annoying” as possible for the enemy, not to help the 30 people at the enemy base to a quick win.
Edit: I am happy those people are there to “annoy” the enemy. I just find it… distasteful as to why they do it.

If you wanted pve to be truly just “people who want to pve” there should also be no rewards from it

(I hadn’t seen the response just before my post)
