Alright boys and girls! Im in need for help. I dont want want to whine or anything, or any of that play what you want, cus thats is the problem, ironically.
I want to start on era again, and cant make up my mind about what to play. In original classic i played a mage and loved it! In tbc i rerolled shaman and loved it! In wotlk I went back to the mage with a warrior and loved it! Cata was the shamans turn again with mage, warrior and rogue alts. Mop, wod, legion was the same. As you can see, Mage, shaman, rogue and warrior have been my go to classes, and currently maining warrior in wotlk(sagde times).
I want to play either mage, warrior, shaman or rogue in era, so can you guys please grant me your wisdom in my quest to find the class to play in era?
I love the warrior mechanics, to charge in and do massive dmg. I love the sneaky and duchbag feeling about rogue, and I love the controll a mage has. But I also hate the lack of mobility warrior lack(kited by mage etc lol), i hate the endless SS spamming as a rogue, and I hate the frostbolt spam to 60 as a mage. The shaman at 60 isnt that much of xp for me, but then again, im aasigned to healing for the most part. Even thou the WF critts is jucy with gear! As you can see, I love and hate thing about all classes. Please, open my minds guys, please! I mainly want to pvp, and chill out with some randoms raid if I get to 60 lol.
Dottie! Glad to see you here, then the subject is taken serious.
Thats a good point, but I think im going Horde this time - since I lvled my mage as Alliance back in the days.
Shaman is a good choice yes, but im not completly sure yet sadly. Big 2h with the RNG WF critts seems insanly fun!
I might havr to find a class that is fairly good with low tier gear, since I dont think I will get full tier 2 any time soon.
Both rogues and warriors and shamans to some extent are weapon based, so getting a good weapon or two is the priority. I think on my shaman I used a staff to start with.
Warriors and Enhancement Shamans primary stat is strength. Rogues is Agility.
Do you want to / have to heal? If yes then you have only one choice.
Warrior will be difficult to level and will be gear dependant.
Rogue will also be difficult to level.
Mage will be easier to level if you get into groups.
I would recommend the shaman - good utility, needed in raids, all 3 specs are very different from each other so you can choose what is the most fun.
Yea, Warrior and Rogues is the weapon that is the big deal. I see alot are recomending going dagger and shield as a shaman, duo to fast attacks and use mostly Earth Shock and melee the mob down to just heal up in between for max uptime.
Nimelia, I dont mind healing, but I would prefer to dps. Im not gonna focus on raiding so much, since Im a dad gamer with, not limited time, but litimed time prioritized to wow.
So I might have to do some digging and figure out what class is decently good in low tier gear, pvp focused.
Also, the warrior and rogue lvling grind is not that bad, just have to get a good weapon and your set for melting faces. Like the axe from SFK/rfk, the sword from BFD and WC etc.
I thought shamans need to go for a slow weapon to maximise the shock damage and the damage reduction from a shield is far out-weighed by the damage of a 2 hander, even a staff.
Im talking about at lower lvles. I see alot of shamana running around with dagger and shield.
I just need to figure out what class can put up a fight even with out “bis gear”, not looking for the fotm class, but a class that can stand up for then selves even at lower tiers. My aim is to pvp as much as possible and it will mostly be solo. So a rogue, mage, hunter, warlock would be a solid pick I guess. Gaaah, I dunno <]
Every guide I see tells you to use a staff at low levels for Enhancement. The only time I see the need for a shield is when you are a bit of a higher level for Elemental.
