Do you think my current card could handle it then as is or? I will have to replace it at some point, it’s not going to last forever but it’s done fantastic so far.
On low settings yeah, rest of your pc is brilliant with 32gb ram and ann i7- 7700k. If anything you’d want to tune ya PC abit to get more power, out of what you have. Can’t see that struggling 3x lower settings in SL.
Buying cards now is a pretty bad move to be honest, some cards are selling 50% less then what people paid start of year. I’ve never known a price drop that bad in the last 15 years. Intel have just released incredible cards, with the biggest yesr on year jump in over a decade. So gonna be an absolute ton of people upgrading, and selling on their cards very soon. Markets gonna be flooded with old cards, and price will drop so much.
Realistically if you dont spend £200+, you wont be getting much of an upgrade and not worth it.
I would not recommend buying it second hand I would recommend buying it new unused, reasoning behind this is if it’s second hand that means it’s used before so shorter life span and in some cases reports of ppls second hand graphics cards dying early.
I can go to £300 tops really. I have never paid crazy prices for a card.
i have AMD Ryzen 9 and i run 5 wow clients on Ultra 10/10
The 1660 super is ya best bet then, 35% more fps for £200. Came out a year ago, and brand new.
Or a 2060 is 60% better, came out a year ago and brand new for £300. If you want to spend the full budget.
Waiting till start of next year, will get you more of an upgrade for cheaper if you can wait though.
I can’t cope with Shadowlands on low for the main window - that will suck.
u got a 3080 yet ? i got mine yesterday .
I would really prefer AMD though, just going off past experiences.
I can’t afford that
I see what you mean now…
Wouldn’t recommend new amd cards to be honest. The 5700xt was absolutely tragic for the first year. I’ve had nothing but issues with mine. Black screens/screen tearing/aggressive downclocking (card running at 60% performace lol). It’s been an absolute nightmare to be honest. It’s some what fixed now, still getting issues though (100% amd software fault).
5600xt for £250 (+50% fps), or 5700xt for £350 is your AMD options. Highly don’t recommend either though. I’ve been AMD for the last 6 years and I’m done with them personally.
No way you can run every game at 4k 60fps with that. I’d like to see it run games like total war or bannerlord at 4k 60fps.
Wait for the new NVIDIA cards, they are taking a huge leap from the last set of cards, and are going to be very efficient at low prices.
dipends on prossesor and motherboard . Amd has gameing motherboards for whats boots capasity with grafic cards addunal 30% .
The funny thing is my old computer is 8 years old and it runs wow still on 80+ fps lolz
Engine changes yes, but if Shadowlands have more GPU heavier zones than Dazar’alor and Boralus then you will need the expansion to test.
As for the GPU - it’s not worth upgrading RX480 to anything below GTX 1080 Ti/RTX 2070 Super/RTX 3070. Maybe RX 5700XT if the price is good.
Your loss I have been using their technology for more then 10 years had no issues or problems I guess different experiences.
They are probably used so half the price id assume.
