What annoys me more is the âattitudeâ or general consent that itâs ok for bigger guilds to dictate when someone can or cannot drop the head(s); which denies the buff for other guilds that might start their raids much earlier, which is a breach of the EULA.
Small or big, all guilds have equal rights to have the buff for their progression runs.
Yes, if your not handing it in for buff for progression purposes, it has little value to offer. Thereâs a big difference in âneed to haveâ and ânice to haveâ; most cases fall in the latter.
Itâs more like a social issue, where it can become a thing for a guild to try and blacklist another just because the head was popped at a time not agreed upon by the coalition on the realmâs discord or something like that.
Thatâs probably what that Driu meant by âdictatingâ. As in telling others what to do, instead of coming to a mutual agreement or accepting it if an agreement canât be reached.
Iâm not even sure how the other guilds can retaliate to begin with. At worst, theyâll blacklist the âpariahâ guild in terms of enchants/rare recipes, but thatâs about it.
Well, thereâs a lot more one can do. If the coalition is big enough, one can even quite effectively âfreeze outâ a guild from any kind of pug content, including 5-man.
Itâs basically schoolyard bullying of an outsider for breaking the perceived social norm of the âpopular groupâ.
Assuming weâre talking about a consolidated raiding guild, thatâs not rly a big threat IMO. I for one rarely step into dungeons anymore with my main outside of guild runs.
Well, alts are a thing for many, so theyâd be punished for wearing the same guild tag, and afaik many guilds struggle to maintain the same players for an extended period of time to raid with.
So if thereâs the need to keep recruiting new people, then this would be heavily affected by such a blacklisting.
I do wonder, whatâs the point of these buffs? Yes, they are powerful, but itâs a pain to obtain them and they donât persist after death. Must suck to wait hours to get them only to lose them in the first wipe.
A handful of tryhards trying to dictate when a guild can or canât hand in their head
If they want to have a realm discord to make comments about those who disregard their wishes itâs only really themselves who are reading it - the grownups who come to Classic for fun really donât care
And it is a fairly useless buff unless you have raids on seamless farm - in which case you will always be in a position to collect your own buffs
Itâs a ridiculous and reasonably new âthingâ that will die a death all by itself
