Nerf 85-90 xp required asap

I’m not saying this for myself, but we want an active playerbase for MoP classic and we will not get that if the leveling experience is so rough. Please use the nerfed version

Crazy delusion from Blizzard thinking slower leveling makes the game better in any way

Perhaps an impopular opinion, but I don’t think the required xp is a problem. The main issues are zones being laggy to the point of being unplayable, bottleneck quests and certain respawn rates not working properly.

Personally, I had about four hours of gametime before work. Started questing in Jade Forest, gave up about 10 mins in and went RDF-spamming instead. 85-86 was done in about 3 hours (13 dungeon runs in total), and then I had the last hour to quest in Valley of the Four Winds, which somewhat worked to quest in (atleast as of today, we’ll see tomorrow). That hour gave me about 5-6 bars, while also starting my farm. It’s about the same rate as I remember leveling in previous expansions aswell.

In a few weeks, when the zones are not packed way over their capacity, and when we unlock flying for our alts, I think leveling will be a breeze.

Ye well 85-86 is the fastest one to do going from 89-90 is like doing 85-87 the amount of xp needed is crazy atleast when you are questing a full dungeon run including the first time quests is around 10% of your level at level 87 nvm at 89

Your looking at 4 hours per level after 87 and it’s ok if it was like old wow but many wow players are going to want to level alts also let’s not forget the fact that some people got level 90 in just a few hours from prepping things before mop even came out it’s not like world first would have been ruined from them increasing quest experience.

Each quest gives 0.5-1% of a level and a lot of the quests include killing 10-20 mobs they are not short quests.

Can’t speak about those levels yet. But my guild had our first two 5 man teams going into heroic dungeons about 2-3 hours ago, so it can’t be that bad considering 10+ of them hit max level day 1.

Yes because you can abuse things like pet battles and monkey runs because there is no instance lockout for leaving and joining again as a group which btw is not how most of the playerbase wants to play they want to do the storyline and a few dungeons a long the way you are talking from a sweaty tryhard point of view if they got 90 this fast and still online to continue doing dungeons.

You also used up your first 2 single use dungeon quests to do that first level fast which most of the playerbase will be doing it does not come back later on.

I honestly don’t see the issue with that. It’s a total of 5 levels. Let’s say that on your first playthrough 85-87 takes 6 hours of active gametime and 12 hours for 87-90. That’s 18 hours in total to go through the entire expansions leveling. This will certainly also be faster on our alts when we can fly at 85, and the zones are not as packed. I also read that there are very strong BoA weapons you can farm and send to your alts, which probably also will impact leveling speed.

I didn’t realize how good we had it in cata. I didn’t hit level 85 the first night of launch but I wasn’t stressed about it and finished it off by mid-day the day after. The only cancer zone was Deepholm. This MoP leveling is way worse and its compounded by lag.

Because the problem is everyone is not on an equal playing field people clearly want to level faster or you would not see the looking for group chat moving so fast that all you can read is monkey farm.

The quickest way to level right now is to not play the actual game and abuse dungeons I don’t know why you would think making a group of 5 people to chain kill monkeys or doing pet battles should reward more xp than doing the storyline I believe someone got lvl 90 in the first 5 hours.

Back when mop launched these things were not a problem people didn’t know about them and if the speed of lvling was not a problem people would not be going out of their way to level like this.

For me atleast and I’m sure many will agree that when an expansion launches I’m going to want to do the storyline and see the zones not sit at my pc for 7-8 hours doing repetitive dungeon farms and leaving the dungeon every 2-3 minutes to queue again.

Well that’s the problem when actual mop launched it was not fast levelling but everyone was questing and you had world pvp to take part in they didn’t even do something with the layers so that horde and alliance are 50-50 in the starting zone which is all about both factions crashing and fighting to make allies….

The quickest way to level right now is indeed monkey farm runs. But I fail to see why the fix would be to reduce the overall xp needed? If anything, nerf monkey runs and fix questing.

I agree that the lag issues and problematic bottleneck quests needs urgent attention by Blizzard. I also like to follow the storyline when doing new content (well, not new but untouched for a long time).

No1 said to nerf xp needed it’s the fact quests are not giving enough xp and it’s too late for that people are already level 90 and been abusing it blizzard just need to make it so you can level fast how you choose at this point because there is no world pvp going on and the actual storyline gives around 30% of a level you need to complete almost every quest in the zones.

Buff quests untill they are stronger than monkey runs.

The one time dungeons quests which I completed today at lvl 87 give around 470k xp each x2 the amount needed to level up to 88 was around 18m 960k

Not true. My friends level this way while complaining about the “lack of community” and how “players optimize the fun out of the game” and they don’t even see the irony. Never have they complained that leveling is inherently slow, but they do complain about lag

It’s literally the title of the thread, lol.

Ye it’s not my thread we both agreed you can level fast by abusing stuff outside of questing I have always kept it about questing vs doing this.

The lag is really bad in the first zone but let’s be honest it’s because they don’t want to fall behind it still is clearly about leveling as fast as possible which was my arguement to begin with you would still be able to complete the storyline even if they buffed quests by 100% the lack of world pvp is also a problem.

I quested through the lag and got out of it after around 1 hour I did not play launch hours as I knew it would be like this it always is at start of expansions.

They mentioned they made all those changes to currencies and stuff so that some of them can be sent over too, in order for people to play different characters and classes conveniently. Yet they left this one in.

Buy a boost! Lol.

I can confirm. I am playing on a dead server, the experience is very smooth and pleasant. I am now level 88 after a full day of playing
