I mostly do HC raids with my dk, but I have a 619ish ret alt. Even though i’m not topping the meters I’m really close to my 630+ teammates. In our runs the top dps always shaman, warlock and paladin. A meele class that can fight from range, has insane amount of defense, utility, cc and movement speed should not be able to do this much damage. The fact that there is not much of a difference between a 620 and a 630 is indeed an issue.
Tell me what your rets dmg compares to when fighting in melee range and at 10+ yards range.

Because it IS strong defence in PvE and lets not forget that WoG and Flash is strong there aswell. Only the mana on WoG is the issue here for both Ret and Prot (as 2 resource costs doesnt make sense)
It IS decent mobility in PvE. Still slower then instant however.
The range we got solves little in PvE however as Ret still wants to be in melee as much as possible.
How many GCD can we fit in that range when needing to move outside something til we are back in melee range? Was there a lack of ranged attacks prior DF rework in a PvE context?
