The boost nerf I can understand even though I don’t agree with it from a personal stand point.
The dungeon farming though is such a bad move it doesn’t even make sense.
Trying to argue that this in any way will reduce RMT is the worst take I have ever heard. The dungeon farming is a great way for people to farm gold in a different kind of way than riding around open world running from node to node or camping different mob spawns. It’s something that for certain people(myself being one of them) is FUN!
Secondly if this is in any way aimed at reducing RMT, while they don’t improve their battle against bots, it’s just even worse. The only reason I see for this nerf is to make people who don’t bot being more keen to buy the wow tokens, which is total bull.
And for anyone who don’t think there will be dungeon farming by bots with this change, just wait until you’re 70 and do /who botanica and look at all the bot rogues that will be in there for days at end.
This nerf is just bad. I HIGHLY disprove of it and think it will, for a lot of players, kill the longevity of the game when it comes to TBC.
Then again Blizzard isn’t really known for being in touch with their player base lately.
Smh.

Sorry, but no.
It’s boring having a char with double 300 professions, nearly full BiS gear, rare recipes, epic mount… And with all that your best way to make gold is the level a mage, keep it in green gear and solo dungeons.
This crap is WAY overdue being removed. Mages especially have routinely broken every god damn economy in WoW on every single classic release, they make it impossible to keep up financially… They just simply nerfed it in the wrong way.

Players playing mages and dungeon farming is a drop in the ocean compared to bots my dude. Cry all you want, until they fix the bot issue farming dungeons is not going to have an impact.

How is using your abilities to kill mobs exploiting? Either you misunderstand what I’m talking about or you’re clearly the salty one. And as said above, the real exploiters are botters and people using hacks(though this is a far lesser issue compared to botting).
If you’re that naive to think this will reduce “exploitative” farming, again, just do /who Botanica on hitting 70
Or /who Steamvaults or mana tombs.
Killing dungeon farming will have barely any impact on the economy as long as botting keeps on being as rampant as it is.

if you think nerfing boosting/dungeon farming is really gonna kill bots you are delusional. as long as people buy gold/there is money to make, people will bot and or farm gold with the most abusable meta. you maybe wont see bots at slave pens as much or spam for boosts but good luck finding a single herb/node in the open world now, atleast thats what im expecting where botters will go.

I’m glad all the iranians can no longer boost to sell gold. Very good change.

While I can agree that organized boosting is bad, and I am against RMT in any form, that’s not really what I’m bringing up in this topic. So the change you’re talking about is not really relevant to this discussion.
you can still farm 10 mobs per 10 mobs, you no longer can farm 300 mobs per 300 mobs

But where is the fun in that
pulling off these gigantic pulls is a fun challenge and you get a lot of gold/xp for it
rip
i don’t know, i never did that
some boosters are just addicted to being “the hero” for lazy peoples, addicted to recognition
they are not all from third world
ofc it’s fun coz xp and gold right?
Also, but mostly its because one wrong move and you die usually.

you can ignore the danger with Zanza yo!?
My reason to why it’s fun is much what Liverstab is bringing up, it’s a fine line to thread for the reward. It takes practice, there’s many ways to improve, there’s many different ways of doing it(some farms, not all).
The thrill of finding a better strat than some video guide that got you started from, shaving off minutes slowly but surely reducing your clear times from 25 to 20 to 15 etc. It’s just a great feeling, even if the gold wouldn’t be great.
Dungeon farming is the most fun and engaging way to farm gold.
Right now one of my favorite farms is farming DMT on my hunter (not selling, just doing the run because it’s fun) since it’s a fairly new run for me. I’ve gone from first clearing it in about 30 min to now being down to 13min 50sec current record. It is by far not the most profitable farm I have, but it is FUN.
There’s no other avenue in wow that offers this type of challenge.
Speed running comes closest to it but doesn’t really scratch that itch.
And I think it’s a sad state of affairs if this gets shut down for RMT reasons when botting is not being addressed properly. The priority should be reversed, if at all.
How were paladin farms fixed?
lol they killed spellcleave along with it, but they didnt do anything to fix lock farming at all. Locks have the best farms in TBC
Most of the bots are mages. Try again.
And majority of bots are open world farming. Whats the point to “fix” one that hurts actual players aswell (nonboosters too) and leave the others reign free.
