Never use PvP in PvE again

That’s cool, does it also mean i dont have to do pvp to get my bis trinkets anymore? Please say yes

Yes, this gear is the possible solution, the other i’ve mused (which is fair less popular) is simply prevent players from playing with people outside a certain range of their rating/ilevel.

WoW ranked is a competitive arena, to me it makes absolutely no sense why someone who walks around in the best pvp gear should be in a position to enter the ranked arena at the bottom end to help their mate out, when the whole premise of the gear progression in pvp is the bracket you play at reflects the gear you end up with. So logically these people shouldn’t be allowed to set foot into the low brackets unless they;ve tanked their rating.

And if theyve tanked their rating, their gear power should drop back down to reflect that.

The WoD gear is a better solution however, much less punitive and free, but if that doesn’t work I seriously hope blizz would consider some of the above because in an arena where other players are directly responsible for my rating (rise or fall) and it;s competitive AND I have no choice in whom I face, it makes no sense that people from a different league are allowed to come up against me and smash me down, causing my rating to behave as if i;ve “taken a loss against a player from my current bracket”.
If losses against these people didn’t smash my rating, I wouldn’t give a toss. But it does. You only need two in a row to undo a few good matches of work. Not a problem for those who win majority of games almost perfect, for those of us more average, it really hurts and means over an entire evening of 2s play of several hours, you can still end up with only +20 rating or so, if that, because you W/L for the session is made negative solely by the prescence of these boosters, were the games with them not counter, you’d have 60/40 or something similar, but with them included, it’s the opposite, so your net play session is negative or barely positive. It’s proper annoying.

Most likely because PvP trinkets would be considerably lower in ilvl than PvE trinkets which would, theoretically, be worse at the same ilvl. So even worse PvE trinkets would be better than the “BiS” PvP trinket.

All i needed to know, into the trash bin the trinket goes!

That’d pretty much invalidate the existence of gear overall then, wouldn’t it?

If it follow WoD faithfully it’d be like outside of pvp the “BIS” pvp trinket stops at 200ilevel…even a much worse optimised trinket of a better ilevel will outperform it therefore.

I don’t see how, unless the sole purpose of gear in pvp is believed to be to allow you to stomp.

I see gear as a reflection of effort, a reward. So you get it for that alone.
You wanna use that gear to go ham in raodm BGs without rank? go nuts.
You wanna use it to deck world content? go ahead.
You wanna use it to troll newbies in the entry level to arena? No. Because you are directly intefering with their ability to progress fairly in doing so, so I would disallow it.

i hardly think preventing people from squaring up to “newbs” in the ranked arena solely makes the gear pointless. You can still stomp newbs in unraked and skirmishes for giggles. You just cna’t do it when those newbies are under the impression that their losses and wins mean something about their skill level as opposed to whether some pvp glad has decided to use them as a punching bag “for lols”

I hope that makes sense. I’m well aware it’s an unpopular opinion.

Ah alright, I thought you want to restrict random BGs as well. So pretty much every PvP content. This would invalidate gear imo.

Did you see the cheat death trinket dropping in raid?

Nononono, just ranked content where your gear progression is solely contingent on winning (and the assumed basis of those wins being a fair reflection of the skill/gear level of those in the match)
In unranked, even then, progression is earned even when you lose because honor doesn’t require winning to be earned. Yes wins get more, but you still progress.
In ranked if you do not win games, you do not progress, so the glad trolling the entry bracket is directly impairing other people’s ability to progress by being there- they aren’t just slowing it down, they are outright preventing it. You get enough of them doing it, and the entire premise of the progression at that level is totally turned on it’s head (as we have now. I hear it’s fine once you hit 1.8 or so, but below that it’s an absolute mess and the effort required far exceeds that it has required at the start of the season, many averageish players are simply stuck in limbo)

Damn, i specifically aimed pvp to get that 220 gear since I did no raiding and it was impossible to gear up. Also haste + vers gear is perfect for my tank spec. Truly worst possible thing they could do

Well, I guess if janky BS is what it takes to keep PvP gear best in PvP then that’s how it’s going to have to be… :expressionless:

That’s not really sure, depends on max ilvl.

Wait, so what is being lowered? I’m seeing conflicting messages about what is being lowered.

Is PVP gear getting an ilvl drop when outside of arena’s and BGs?
And is PVE gear getting an ilvl drop when in arena’s and BGs?

I thought the only change was going to be the one where a PVPer steps outside of an arena or BG their gear drops by up to 50 ilvls per piece.

great now can we remove noobs and idiots queueing
bgs brawls to afk
no objectives no node caps
just ally getting free wins at the 59 random bg bracket
and at lvl 60 too

the comment of a troll who doesnt are about winning=enjoy the gaem
yes i will enjoy bgs once they are made afk/noob proof

We don’t really know. Could be that pvp gear be 255/259 in arena/bgs(same as mythic) or higher.

I see.

I will say that I am looking forward to when buying rated PVP boosts is no longer the way to progress in PVE.

Technically it looks like PvP gear will be ilvl 200 baseline and then increased in PvP. Not the other way around. But the result is the same though

I assume that’s the intent of the change too, but I can’t really know. At least on ptr vendor there are no items like the one in the OP.

Separating PvP and PvE gear will again be the most stupid idea.

And PvP only stats (e.g. resilience, pvp power, versatile bonus, etc.) are just as stupid and have been proved not working again and again.

There is no such thing as PvP or PvE gear. Nobody want to carry multiple sets that do exactly the same thing.

Let gear just be gear.
