New class: Bard

I’d love to see this class in the game as another cloth wearing one that can be a DPS and a healer. Both Monk and DH can tank but only Monk can heal.

Bard can be music based class with spells comming from music terms. It’s weapons should be instruments that should be 2 handers from drums, flutes to guitars.

It would be great RP addition to the game and could improve the variety of healers.

During the maldraxus maw assault there is a bard NPC, I forget its name. But it looked awesome when it was making music and dpsing from range simultaneously.

We strongly need a third mail class.
And another physical ranged class.
Like Artillerist!

While I have a Bard in FF14 myself, I can’t see one in this game.
Would feeld odd.

Imagine Orc Bard being just a guy playing in war drum while NE playing his flute. It would add a lot of flavor and make sense imo. It doesn’t have to be 1:1 FFXIV bard. It depends on implementation.

Wouldn’t feel right imo.

Still don’t need another Cloth class.
Or Plate.
And especially no additional Leather class.

Your Bard could wear mail (loads of robes to go with that type).
But I can’t see Blizzard gonna do that.
IF they ever added another class.

What’s wrong with Bard in your opinion? Technically Kodo raiders in Warcraft 3 can be seen as “bards” and there are more or less NPCs playing instruments. It could be a nice support casting class and I don’t see a problem with another cloth wearing class. I’d love to see another bow/gun wearing class but maybe without pet this time. Maybe do like with Warlocks and “extract” Marksman from Hunter class and make another ranged one that doesn’t have pet.

4th shaman spec would also feel natural since Ele is fire themed, Enha is air themed and Resto is water themed (baded on Ascendance forms and class mount from Legion). The only one that is missing Earth Element themed spec. Guardian Shaman feels right. It can be 2h shaman with recycled Rockbitter, Boulder Smash, Stoneskin and Stoneclaw Totems.

Other than this can be Necromancer class. It’s quite iconic to Warcraft 3. It can have 3 specs like DK Blood, Unholy and Frost. Where Blood can be implementation of Blood Mages (San’layn) and a healer, Frost - a lich themed Shadow/Frost caster that would be less mobile than Mage and Unholy - summoner using two skeletons - one meele and one ranged working similarly to the current Necrolords Priest legendary - more damage you deal when your skeleton mage is summoned - more damage you deal

That’s why I suggest Artillerist.
Can and should be mail, can place artillery devices (like a mix of totems and pets - immobile but active) which have increased performance if the user stands near them.

You already have the Necromancer baked into the Death Knight.

bards are usually more of a buff support class to themselves and others. but mostly others. in a group.

while it can definitely be fun to play a bard, i just cant see how it fits with today’s wow which is pretty much a solo game.

Would love a Bard class. All races have music in their culture. But I doubt it will happen

You could make someone else do the bard’s damage

for example the dance or magical music that enchances the sword of the partymember etc

then you would have a dps spec wo is doing damage by buffing someone else

buffing yourself (your own weapons) will make it work. but still not getting even close to the power of other classes. bard shines the most in groups. put a bard in a raid or arena losers become winners. but wow is no longer this type of game. wow is no longer a really ‘multi-player’ game. players play together, but there is no team work anymore.
bard would have worked REALLY well 14 years ago-wow.

i wanna play a Hobo-clown, it uses mail ofc, and it tosses blizzard made jokes to dmg enemy etc, awesome stuff!

if someone’s doing bard in 2021 it probably will be ffxiv first

Not sure a Bard class would fit in - Necromancer (basically a Lich variant) would be the obvious next choice for a new class - make it so that the Necromancer is both half alive and dead so can act in the real realm and spirit realm, drawing off one side to oppose the other, could be some interesting mechanics

Bard ? Nope, if you think it out it would be almost the same as Shaman so no point at all

Hmm, but then raids have 1 more mandatory class that they need to recruit for buffs. :frowning:

Depends how much raw dps the bard buff results into and if that replaces an entire dps or not. If its more then its mandatory. But thats for raids. Now imagine that for Dungeons. Because if one balanced for one then its either utterly broken or worthless for the other. However it would result into a “gimme a bard for logs” by quite a lot of peole automatically.

I’ve been playing bard on FF14. It works well as a leather wearer and ranged melee who can use songs as buffs.

They would work well with these 3 specs I think:

  1. Ranged melee weapon specialist bard (MM)
  2. Song specialist bard (using magic / songs to attack foes)
  3. Healer spec (using songs to heal / buff players)

Many people say it sucks but I’m currently lvl 45 and enjoying it. I’d recommend FF14 in general tbh. The house parties are awesome

In Allods online, Bards played a vital role of being dps/support class. While the idea of support existed in Allods before the bard, that class was the first that truly embodied it and defined it.

Basically, bards did decent damage (they were busted on release to get people to roll one), and they used songs to buff their allies and debuff enemies.

I absolutely think support classes have a place in WoW. It shouldn’t be just the trinity. Make it a fournity.

Tbh if you want that class just play ff14
