New Classes - Warden, Necro and Dark Ranger

Ok, well you’re just a troll considering you didn’t read or properly respond to anything I said. I responded to your comments and gave proper, educated responses. But if you want to ignore them, that’s fine. I’ve learned you only get defensive like this when you can’t back up your point.

Honestly don’t even know why I bothered arguing with you considering your holier-than-thou attitude, so I’ll just put you on ignore.

It’s literally every argument with him, 20% substance and all other is just attempt to insult and disregard your opinion

Would love to have a Rifleman subclass or at least hero talent tree.

Guns are underrepresented and we dwarves love our boomsticks. Humans, gnomes, Goblins, orcs, worgen and tauren are shown to use them quite a lot as well.

But the players? They get the middle finger. Why Volley has only arrows for example? Or why talents which are mandatory for ST damage like Windrunner’s Legacy shoot only arrows?

Come on Blizz, start showing Hunter guns a bit love. We need a Rifleman, talent tree, subclass, whatever ASAP.

Heck, I would be satisfied with a few new graphic updates as well.

According to who? Because IMO more choices certainly improve the game.

Not all content is for everyone, not all classes/subclasses (or whatever) is for everyone as well.

With that logic, we don’t need Priests since we have Paladins, or we don’t need Demon Hunters since we have Warlocks. A caster using Death magic would be a welcoming addition to the game for many players. I mean, heck, if people liked Evokers, Necromancers are going to rock.

Consider this:
When new class drops they must

  1. Create a unique identity for this class

  2. Make 2-4 specs with different gameplay

  3. Balance it while keeping in mind PvE and PvP.

Each new patch they need to tune every class, make up tier sets for each class, balance PvP for each class, balance PvE for each class.

And this baggage is getting bigger and bigger

Affli

To be honest, necromancers would overlap with warlocks and dks HARD, we even have shadow caster priest, so what exactly will be big selling point for necromancer?
Pet gameplay is covered by udk, demo and bm hunters, dot gameplay assassination, affli and sp, what exactly new necromancers will bring on the table? We even have kel tuzad fantasy - frost mage

No…

Warlocks use Chaos magic, not Death magic, they draw their abilities from ab entire different plane of existence.

Dks are the Paladin equivalent of Death, so no overlap with them as well.

I would argue that one more wouldn’t break the game. Since more than 1 or 2 bring pet gameplay already, one more won’t hard. Btw, you can make each pet subclass unique. I will abstain from giving very specific examples though as it would be meaningless and it would take way to much work to describe in full how each one of them should be designed.

Same argument with pet gameplay, read above.

Kel thuzad is a lich. Pretty sure this would have been represented better by a necromancer. A frost mage is closer to Jaina than Kel.

As to what new they could bring, well… Many new things but to explain further I would need to write another walltext and this reply is already long enough.

Tinkerer, i want tinkerer. Favored by gnome, dwarven, goblin and vulpera. All the clever races.

Warlocks use shadow, chaos, fire as of game mechanic, as of lore: we see spells such as life and soulsteal, soulburn, soul rot (covenant ability and it won’t be visually reworked by next patch which is very fitting) ulthahesh in hindsight is Shadowlands artifact. I’ll remind you that dreadlords originate from death realm and legion used every powerful magic not just fel, scourge was legion’s project.

For reason unknown because every other new class brought something new and necromancer mustn’t because reasons.

His skillset is frost magic, frost nova is his signature, most of his mechanics in naxx is frost spells and necromancy reflected only in add spawn. Look at his hots skillset.

well you see mr dwarf your boomsticks are lame thats why the superior bow and arrow will always have the best visuals

jokes aside marksman is pretty much rifleman with another name

Yeah man but that’s why I play MM for life. It’s the closest thing we have to a rifleman, but still. MM talent choices have too much “arrow” in it, which ruins my class fantasy.

I would argue the same goes for Jaina?

It can bring something new like the DH brought something to the game despite the fact
there were people who thought it wouldn’t bring anything new to the table because we already had Warlock. I mean, if I detail class and subclass concepts would you admit it can bring something new? Or this discussion would quickly turn into a argument on why my class/subclass ideas suck?

Yeah on that I agree, but still the main source of a Warlock’s magic is fel, aka magic from the realm of Chaos. If nothing else, a necromancer could have more than just Death magic using the same reasoning (like what type of mage they were before they became a necromancer). But the main source of the majority of their spells should be Death themed.

wardens are not mages tho

Maybe? it’s mish mash.
Come to think of it, he had death and decay as his ultimate spell in warcraft 3, and it functioned very similialry to how it functions in wow for dks.
Only that it was friendly fire. Mostly jaina’s iconic spells are blizzard and summon water elemental and kel’tuzad had ice nova and death and decay

The first thing that comes in mind is something akin to flesh crafting from maldraxxus (how it would function i’m not really sure), but dh i think were very obvious: they are agile and have wings so glide and double jump, they sacrificed their vision to see magic so eagle vision from assassin’s creed.
For necromancer you need to make up something really new tho, because current status of necromancers as we know them is basically cult of the damned mages, super evil ex scourge members.

Well yeah, but lorewise it must be applied to warlocks too tbh, because many of the warlocks were former mages and shamans, but it seems by default players are learning only warlock part of art and unless you headcannon it never learned anything before. Which is not very palpable for some races but i headcannon for my character that my inscription and book summon is part of arcane magic that my char knows XD.

Except they are. Necromancers are not defined by simple “Oh I have a staff”.

The very word “necro” is all you ever need to justify an Unholy DK.

And that’s your problem right there. Blizzard fundamentally disagree with you and have pretty much cemented the “necromancer” as the Death Knight Unholy specialization. I mean I really could not dumb it down any further…

“Death Knight…” “Unholy…” “Master of disease and raising the undead…”

Blood DK’s laugh and point at themselves saying “Hello??!!” before saying to the healer “you just keep those scrub DPS alive. especially that sponge like mage”

They could have used “Sharpshooter” until someone decided that was offensive a few years back so a more sanitized version was needed, lo, “Marksman”

Me reading your specs I just cant help but think;

Starshaper Skirmisher; sounds like an Outlaw rogue / Survival Hunter
Starcaller Arcanist; Sounds like a boomie
Soulblade Duelist; Sounds like a sublety rogue
Deathbringer; Sounds like an unholy-DK

Like the spells might be called “Arcane strike” rather than “Raptor strike” or “Celestial wrath” rather than “Moonfire”, or just wearing plate rather than leather/mail or cloth instead of leather… But all in all, it seems we already have these specs, just with different names and animations no?

do we ? ooh how sweet of you to think so  haha

Are you?
You are being needlessly aggressive while being needlessly worked up about things that will almost certainly never make it into the game.
So let OP have his discussion with people who wish to engage.

Personally I’ve always liked the idea of necromancers in WoW. But I believe it has been split up into both warlock and DK thus leaving little room for an innovative kit.

they also could have picked stuff like “ranger” or maybe inspired by the dwarfs like “mountaineer”
