New customization options for blood elves and void elves

Where is our Dark Blue and Dark Purple glowy eyes Blizzard? You only think about high elf kids.

So we just have Blood Elves now on the Alliance, I want to die.

I like how this thread became the new high elf thread.

Well, I think it was a good move by Blizzard, as that should please most.

Now just looking forward to see what they come up with for the Night Elves…

I can expect some people will moan because it’s not called “high elves” xD.

This is entirely incorrect. The Devs explained how the eye colour works in As CDev’s 3, how did you miss that? It explicitly states that most Blood Elves would never have seen a fel crystal, let alone drained from one however the -Reason- they have green eyes, is due to exposure to Fel Energies. Nothing to do with draining Mana from living creatures at all. They went on to say that a High Elf who went to Outlands (So, the Allerian Expedition) would in Lore have fel green eyes due to exposure to Fel Energy. Those Elves were High Elves, they never learned how to drain from living creatures, and never did.

They said it is -exposure- not draining it, not a result of draining mana from living creatures.

If it were one or two you might be right, not whole classes of mobs.

It doesn’t matter, because the lore states you are not right. Sorry, but that is just how it is. It is exposure to Fel Energy that turns any Thalassian Elf’s eyes Green, it is nothing to do with draining mana. Blizz have stated this.

Is wrong. ‘lol’.

Some already have lol
This was the best option Blizzard could do though, imo. Adding another elf as an Allied race would be too much. I’d rather want that empty race slot to go to something that’s unique and new!

Well I think this is the best option aswell. Can’t please everybody but I think this comes close.

Ahaha, I couldn’t be bothered reading through 268 posts lol.

You can never satisfy everyone.

Can we have white or blonde hair for velfs please thank you .

People really need to learn lore first and comment after. This entire comment section must be purge… or well, most of it.

Interesting view. Please, specify.

You are wrong and nothing in the CDev comment says this:

The situation regarding blood elf eyes is, in fact, extremely similar to that of the green skin of [orcs]: just being around heavy use of fel magic turned the eyes of the blood elves green. You could be the most pious of priests or most outdoorsy of you were around fel energies, and your eyes would turn green. Like the orcs’ skin color, such an effect would take a very long time to wear off. Fel magic works a bit like radiation in this sense; it permeates the area and seeps into anything in the vicinity. Anything near a source of fel magic shows signs of slight corruption, it just so happens that high elves and orcs manifest it in a very visual way.

It is an explanation why even the classes you wouldn’t associate with it and avoided drawing from living things - unlike the majority who did actively do it, had their eye colour change. It does not claim that passive exposure was the exclusive cause of fel eyes. There was a very heavy use of fel in Quel’thalas, so much so that even those who’d stand away from it usually would be exposed to it and have their eyes turn green, hence the radiation effect. Drawing mana from living things also turns the eyes green as it’s a form of fel magic. More so than that, the High Elves in Allerian Stronghold have blue eyes.

And unlike rando miscoloured NPCs, these guys all consistently have blue eyes, as do all Silver Covenant elves, much like how every single elf in Quel’thalas has green eyes.

It doesn’t matter, because the lore states you are not right. Sorry, but that is just how it is. It is exposure to Fel Energy that turns any Thalassian Elf’s eyes Green, it is nothing to do with draining mana. Blizz have stated this.

You are bringing up a distinction without difference - drawing mana from an untainted object wouldn’t turn your eyes green. Drawing mana from a living thing, ergo, withdrawing a part of its life force creates spent life and spent life is fel. Fel turns the eyes green for high elves. Hence why it was opposed by what would become the modern High Elves. It is another source of corruption. You would also get green eyes even if you didn’t do it, but were in the proximity of those who did it heavily, like I said in my first post.

^ This again lol.

Go home Brigante you’re drunk :’)

Specify what lol? It’s all up there. Check it for yourself. I am not gonna bother over all that, I am just glad blizzard is finally adding things that they should have added.

Because you don’t like somebodies views please be respectful to it and keep it civil

will those different eye colours be usable on DKs?

Tell him that, he insulted me/my guild even though I am correct lore wise.

My deepest thanks Blizzard, it was the best compromise for both sides. Though there are many things i still want for the Void Elves, this is a good start.
