So with Ion’s recent tweet about how the devs got together , and gave a huge chunk of the community what they want , I hope they know there is a Dark Ranger community too, silent people we are , but npc Red eyes got datamined alongside the blue , and it could be an easy solution for us Dark Ranger fans , with Velonara saying many of her brothers/sisters remained with the Horde , we can have 3 undead skin tones for belf restricted to the red eyes.
I mean High Elf , and Blood Elf can be found in the Void Elf starting area learning, now Velonara is in Orgrimmar basically saying many stayed with their kin The Forsaken/Sindorei.
Its a win win , no need to take a slot of an allied race , and the Dark Ranger class can be a Hunter RP with Red Eyes.
One last thing Void Elf can now choose to look uncorrupted and exactly like a Blood Elf, it would be nice to see Blood Elves looking like Dark Rangers or San’layn especially with the datamined ear adjustments

i don’t quite agree for one blood elves aren’t dead so why would we have dead skins unless they are exclusive to death knight
Orgrimar is a muddy hellhole without proper sanitation, thats how
That place is not good for the delicate skin of an Elf!

The playable dwarves are not wildhammers , but they will get them so think of it as a subrace.
Dark Rangers are present , and even more so now stating that some stayed with Sylvanas, and many chose the Horde

Aren’t elves of Quel’thalas well-known rangers who tend to live outside of walled cities?

And a badass one at that.
Surviving being gutted and still after that managed to free himself, his allies and fight trolls off long enough for Dar’khan to warp the whole group to safety.

and you still won’t be playing one they are simply discount blood elves maybe you’d get a true high elf when blizzard remembers it’s own lore and let those poor high elves at alleria’s stronghold to come home
heck one high elf even tells you that shes not a blood elf and its common mistake - take that ion
That part is utter trash though, if you stop and think it over.
Why would they immediatly turn on their kinsman who they haven’t seen in years and suddenly show up in Outland. And why how did they know what happened in Quel 'thalas or who those people were.
You’d think that seeing fellow ‘High Elves’ again, and with similar green eyes would trigger some other responses, but No, these are clearly bad guys and we must continue to cling on to these other Alliance guys we never met over the kin from home…And then argue with a random stranger how you’re ‘Not a Blood Elf’(how the what the why), and if she knows what a Blood Elf is, then how come she doesn’t feel any honor to the fallen or Quel’thalas itself.
Makes no sense whatseover
gotta remember that the elves that followed alleria did so despite the king’s wishes i believe so their basically rogue
These are not high elves they are freaking blood elves that played in void magic with fair skin
Also those void elves still can’t be blonde, whats with the limitations

Yep.
Alleria was a traitor back then as well, she disobeyed orders openly and went to god knows where, while her kingdom burnt. All because she loved a human.

to a lot of high elves i imagine their motivation is the same as the silver covenant they see the blood elves as traitors who sided with the horde gotta remember gul’dan attacked silvermoon before and our sworn enemy the amani trolls was with the horde
after all the Ranger General Windrunner of the covenant wants to “redeem” us i imagine keal’thas before he lost his mind would still not have seen joining the horde as a option
Amani were never with Horde. They are even hostile in Zandalar capital.
Zul’jin (also spelled Zuljin) was the Warlord of the Amani forest trolls and chieftain of the Amani tribe since before the Second War. Zul’jin was a fierce enemy of the high elves, with whom he shared many years of conflict. Zul’jin and the Amani tribe were allied with the orcish Horde for the duration of the Second War, but Zul’jin himself was captured near its end by Halduron Brightwing, in whose custody he lost an eye and an arm, which he never regenerated. Upon gaining his freedom, he went into hiding to rebuild his army and plan an attack on the remnants of the high elves, now known as blood elves, only to find them allied with the reformed Horde. He was killed by Azerothian adventurers who raided Zul’Aman during the invasion of Outland.
That should make High Elves happy xD
OG Horde and Thrall Horde are like different factions.

I’d imagine most Alliance High Elf fans would prefer that they’d be given their own seperate race slot for this reason but the in-game result is functionally the same and I’m grateful to have that much. The critics of High Elf fans often said “don’t give it to them Blizz, they’ll never be happy, they’ll just demmand more and more!” - I’m being careful to not fall into that category because I don’t want Blizz to regret giving us this much because I truly am very grateful.
Blizz has practical reasons for adding High Elf appearances this way and I understand it even if it’s not my personal ideal:
-
Some players seem to think that adding them as a seperate race would be “taking up a slot” and so get mad because they worry it would be replacing other potential races being added.
-
Some High Elf fans may have only rolled Blood Elves or Void Elves because playable blue-eyed, uncorrupted High Elves weren’t an option, so they’d get annoyed if High Elves were added as a seperate race option because it’d mean they’d need to re-roll or pay for a race change to get what they wanted originally.
-
Some people are concerned that High Elves might cause faction imbalance if only given to one faction.
If I was to make a suggestion to Blizz (not a demmand or complaint), I’d just suggest that they add some lore canon for what the blue-eyed blood/void elves are (e.g do they just look different or do they have a different backstory). Just a simple blink-and-you-miss-it line in a quest would probably be enough for most people. For example perhaps the uncorrupted Void Elves are members of the SIlver Covenant that chose to fight for the Void Elves rather than actually being touched by the void.
But yeah, to reiterate, I’m really happy for this update from Blizz, I’m just explaining for those who wanted High Elves added differently.

Dark spear trolls are the first race to respond and help against the Amani though. You can see them in Zul’Aman opening. They hated them as much as Elves did. Trolls are not the same.
