New customization options for blood elves and void elves

Good to see that there are discussions like that going on at Blizzard. It’s vital for an active development like a constantly ongoing MMO.

The void elves need the hair options and colours to make this change to skin options worth it, otherwise they actually look stranger and less high elfy then before. With normal skin and void hair they look like weird abominations.

It does seem they are much more receptive to discussions in the community at the moment. Lets hope this continues

doubt it Daros people are already asking for void elves to be paladins and such so nope better just delete the void elves they was obviously a mistake

They were, but now that they already exist it’s not likely they’ll be removed.

More likely, they will add Void Elf Paladins and just say it’s like playing a Lightforged Shadow Priest.

Uhm… we kinda are already
Not really different than what N’Zoth did the Quel’dorei caste of the Kaldorei, making them draconic/snake like abominations, Naga…
We took the more tentacled rute
Not complaning tho’
It would be foolish to deny our weird abomination status… heck, Heritage! Be a proud freak!!!

haha perhaps but come on u would be dissapointed if we only got skins and not hair too.

The delusions.

You’re not butchering a class and two races just to fulfill your ultimate fantasy here.

More dissapointed by the fact, can’t really wear my heritage armour, because my purple locks and tentacles cliping thrugh the neck colar and cape…

Why so mad?

I got over my irritation over these changes after about 7 hours or so after I saw the Wowhead post so don’t worry about me.

I’m more in a state of…constant eye rolling at these outrageous demands from people who are trying to co-opt the Void Elf narrative and dilute what little difference there is between the two groups. Customization is one thing because you’ll all still ultimately be Void Elves with everything that entails.

…But to go from there to Paladins is just so far beyond the pale when that class is anathema to everything a Void Elf is.

you speak like the lore matters dainara but gems like this “My team believes that continuity exists to enhance a story, not to tie the hands of creators” - Sean Copeland, Historian Supervisor shows that the lore is dead

Really though.

We should have vulpera paladins.

Except Void Elf Paladins would not only shatter continuity but the whole darned racial narrative. The two cannot coexist because of how volatile the reaction would be.

Again, Alleria literally cannot touch her Paladin husband anymore. That is a perfect example of how absurd this request is.

you underestimate the writing team’s power to retcon their retcons …

Only Aleria who munched a naaru and her hubbie who was lightforged by another produced this reaction
As a priest you should kknow, no volatile reaction around, or else all the disc priests would have exploded by now… :smirk:

On the other hand, Void-forged Paladins sounds void elfish… not that I want any Paladin Velves
Elven Paladin is a siliy thing to begin with

And yet, Lightforged can play Shadow Priest, and Void Elves can play Holy.

It’s almost like a big theme of th Turalyon-Alleria storyline was their progression from the conflict between Light and Shadow to the birth of the fully-powered Netherlight Crucible which… has incredible power because it mixes Void and Light.

I think you might just not care that much about the lore.

True. But until the day they decide to bastardize the foundation of what makes a Paladin a Paladin and a Void elf a Void Elf I will continue to point out the absolutely ridiculous notion of merging the two.

heh i remember when D&D introduced Aribeth de Tylmarande in neverwinter nights 1 as a Paladin of Tyr or was it Torm “first elven paladin in that ruleset in a video game” only for us to find out that she was a traitor

I would argue that wow’s paladin is far removed from the classical fantasy paladin already there is a severe lack of the faith component or battling for one’s god/goddess

They are never going to introduce a shadow priest LFD or holy priest void elf. They literally do not exist in any part of the game, except if a player goes that way.

And it is a forced mechanic of wow classes. They gave priest to void elf because they have to have access to shadow priest, its the most thematic thing void elves can be. But it also means they have to give them the impossible spec as well, because its tied to the class.

Void Elves simply should not get paladins. Make the next class void themed. Why not. Light has a dedicated class, but void only has one spec of a class. Lets call this class Voidadin for argument sake, who preferably wears mail. Do not give this class to blood elves. Make the void/light scheme more interesting.
