I would say not at all. Keep theese “fresh”. At the same time Blizz should work harder to reduce bots and goldsellers.
I think you guys are overreacting. They did say at least 90 days. So could be extended. There are obviously flaws with never allowing transfers to the server that you guys are not accounting for. Just enjoy the 3 months of a more authentic Wrath experience than the other servers could even dream of. And then see what happens. Classic should be about the journey rather than the destination anyways. That’s what I believe.
No, now is the time to speak up and address our concerns so it can be altered before it happens, you say 3 months of more authentic wrath experience, don’t fresh realms open at the start of pre-patch? so it’s more of a “fresh pre-patch server” then flood gates will open at the start of wrath and all the dual war glaive GDKP lovers can join.
For a month or two then it will be the same as any other realm, the botters will level then farm and sell gold for a lot more than it costs elsewhere, and the worst thing? People will buy it so the botters make money.
If only Blizzard would permaban anyone selling gold and anyone buying it.
Established servers will have alot more availability on items from gems to boe’s. Come Ulduar release things won’t be as bad but you will still be at more of a disadvantage than your counterparts playing on current realms.
Those who seek to pvp on these new realms will have far less opportunities if kept within the same bg group.
It’s simply too late on those old servers. On new ones it will take time to get even close to as bad as it is now, and blizzard also knows alot more of the tricks of the gold sellers, etc.
The thing is also, that people, who didn’t cheat directly, also profited from this garbage botting by hosting gdkp runs. And they of course knew exactly what they were doing, it’s not like anyone believes that some dude farmed dire maul east in classic to buy a bow as a warrior for 300k gold.
Another thing I wanna add is that the botting in vanilla was as bad as it is in tbc, because the old instances like DMT dropped more gold for bots than the current tbc dungeons that are being farmed. It simply can’t get as bad in 2 months as it is now in tbc. This RMT thing has been going on since forever. A reset and the knowledge/data blizzard has now regarding this cheating will be a big deal, and maybe they also forbid gdkps.
A lot less time than most people think.
I would like to bet on that. It took about 3 days for gold sellers to start up in the first 2019 Classic.
The new realms will be as well policed as the current ones. ie Badly. They will not ban GDKP.
I know you are being an optimist but you should really hope for the best but expect the worst.
Exactly. It is so bad, and it has been unmoderated so long, that a fresh server will simply reduce this problem for a really long time. And there are also additionally alot of gold sinks in wotlk, which will also slow it down. Basically, the inflation on a fresh wotlk server is probably never gonna even be half as high as in tbc, especially if they are smart and nerf stuff like raw gold from mobs in all instances, etc. What is most important though is that gdkp/boosting services have to stop period, else it’s always gonna be a terrible experience
Keep on dreaming. Gold sellers and their bots will flock to the FRESH realms like flies to a newly passed cow pie. It’s more probably going to reduce the botting on the old realms while all the botters are busy levelling on the fresh.
Nice to finally escape a dead server.
rerolling was always an option
Yes and they get banned easier, because it’s easy for blizzard to detect rmt in one realm without any transfers etc, because it’s probably clearer for them where that gold originated and follow the path of it. Yeah, I guess alot of gold farmers will play on this fresh to sell it, but it still won’t even come close to as bad as tbc is atm
Keep on dreaming.
As I said. It’s more probably going to reduce the botting on the old realms while all the botters are busy levelling on the fresh.
And I press X on Blizz doing anything at all against goldsellers.
Being able to transfer to a fresh server kinda of defeats the purpose?
Fresh is nice and all but come on Blizz, 90 days is short time.
Never allow people to transfer to this new fresh server. Not even with gold cap, because those weird people will just distribute their botted 200k gold from gdkp/websites on 10 characters and transfer everything over.
So you and many other isolationists propose SoM-like experience. You know how well SoM does currently? It is dying due to majority playing on progression servers among other SoM specific reasons.
You want unlimited isolation from people coming to fresh server, but do you want it to be completely isolated? I think no and any of fresh believers want to be able to jump the ship as soon as bypassers will start leaving in drowes when FRESH hype wave dies out.
No one would want to stay because catching up with progress on dying realm without stronger guilds is different story just ask Classic Era players how they downgraded from Naxx raiding guilds into
bring able to raid BWL at best scenario in May 2021.
This will be most bitter when progression realms would be ending their path with many guilds finishing ICC 25 HM or Halion HM and their players leaving the project forever/untill new Wrath SoM or (Green Jesus forgive me!) new better retail expansion.
I don’t know where you are getting this from, I am getting mine from what happened at the start of Classic.
In my opinion it will be worse, mark my words. One week from launch you will see posts like “New realms are full of Bots and Gold sellers”.
Maybe the neurons of their classic dev team will connect finally and they do a bot captcha every 2-3 hours in the game outside raids/arena followed by making the authenticator mandatory to play, so they can detect hotspots of bots easily. Who cares, if they lose a few malding alu-hat wearers who wanna hide their info in the process.
Bots and gold buyers are inevitable but do you really think fresh realms will be as bloated with botted gold as classic that has had almost 3 years to get to this point?
Let me remind you that multiple BRD rogues were running 24/7 across multiple realms literally printing gold, that’s just one example
Fewer gold sellers and bots aren’t even a huge draw for a fresh realm for me, I used to get upset about these things but then I remembered we are playing a game and not real life
No RDF means the world will be alive, no mage/paladin boosters or blizzard boost, no shortage of people for dungeon groups. The MM in MMORPG.
People selling/trading their greens with each other, new guilds beginning to form, new friendships and drama.
Gathering professions are actually worthwhile as they haven’t been completely saturated by bots yet and hoarded by profession kit makers.
There’s no one with 50k gold ready to buy everything on day 1, no army of death knights for those people that want to main one with a chance of getting a raid spot, no one has 5+ alts with professions ready to go
Fresh realms won’t be a utopia without issues but they will be an improvement over existing realms for me
none of this stuff you wish for existed even when they launched classic for the first time … people will just minmax zerg everywhere and wait for wotlk … those few roleplaying casuals who will need 90 days to get even to outland are completely untouched by bots and gdkps even in current state …
