Since t.he idea by Blizzard to release a new Hard Core server was announced, it got me thinking…… (it happens from time to time )
1-60 is pretty tough but wouldn’t you like to play through all of the expansions needing the same amount of exp as it was during the live expansions? This would allow all race/class currently on offer as well as Pally/Shaman in both factions.
I’d certainly love this, as I missed a couple of the expansions due to ill health and I’d love to experience going through them levelling up properly instead of the break neck levelling speeds of today. I was of course guilty of levelling too fast 18 years ago but as I’ve aged my prioritise change and I love enjoying all of the content these days instead of racing. It was only today (thanks to the VoiceOver add-on) that I learnt that the Kul Tiren were near Orgrimmar, I though they weren’t introduced until BFA……… oops!! That’s 18yrs of game play to realise that!!…
Anyway, I’d just love them to collate all of the game and let us experience it as it was intended. Maybe this is already a thing with an add-on? If it is, please let me know!!
You don’t level through retail in the way the expansions came out. The thing I’m suggesting is that we level through each expansion in real terms as it was intended when the expansions released. So vanilla would take ~7 days+ (no lifeing it), then you’ll naturally progress through tBC and spend a long time there, as they’ll be no exp boost and it would take you as long as it did when tBC was released…. Then WotLK again taking real time (no speeding through the content via dungeons in a few hours)…. Etc……
So basically, no catch up mechanics, no Chromie time…. It would take you months of effort to get to max level, instead of a couple of days via dungeon spam. It would be a lot of work, especially for Hardcore players!! but reaching max level would be an amazing feeling. You could earn a special name plate for your character for the specific class that you levelled as long as you didn’t die whilst getting to max level. Personally, I think this journey would not be for everyone, but to me it would be epic!
I guess something similar could happen if classic HC is a success and they bring it to retail, though quite how it would function is beyond me
One good thing we can see from HC realms is that if a game mode is incredibly popular, Blizz is willing to put some work into making it official on their end, so who knows what the future holds!
I basically agree with your idea. On the other hand, the following extensions have not been designed with this in mind, so I don’t think the result will be great. I think Blizzard should focus on a Classic+, building the game from the ground up horizontally and not vertically as before. These expansions need to be designed with the spirit of classic, the difficulty and immersion of classic, and with a view to adding content, not replacing previous ones. This content could and should be available in Hardcore and Normal versions.
I hope it happens one day, but it seems too good to be true, maybe that’s asking too much of Blizzard.
It looks as though you’re trolling and look for someone to argue with. Not here I’m afraid, I won’t give negative attention. I will however suggest that if you are troubled and in need of help due to low mood, then may I suggest trying contacting the Samaritans: samaritans. org
I suggest this as you seem to be following my posts and being over dramatic and seeking attention. I hope that you find happiness soon.
