New healer in pvp - wtf

ìnstall silent shuffle addon

Q and do your thing, the way u want it

Half of the time the warlocks setup ports in the starting room. Is the healer supposed to AFK in the starting room just in case the lock does an awful port?

I play RDruid and I actually see this happen so often, I’m in CC or pushing in cause we have the advantage and I can say cyclone the enemy healer and suddenly a 50% HP warlock with all my hots on him just ports away to the starting room and dies cause not only did he port for no reason he later even lines me while 2 melees are on him.

Healers shouldn’t be standing on his port, especially when they place it in the worst place possible. Also healers need to sometimes move in to say bash / cyclone the enemy healer. Learn to port and learn where to port warlocks please.

Just stay in range dont have to stay on port, position yourself as good as possible and expect lock to use port when get attacked. Most likely lock ported with 50% hp cos enemy popped burst cds, great job, lock saved healers mana and def cds.
Obviously there are new players and locks do mistakes also, but as healer try keep an eye on locks portal position, so can react when lock get attacked, cos portal, gates are locks defence. Too far from port use gates cos gates often are next to portal, if no cd on it.
I may not be the best player to explain ins and outs and I may be wrong about something.

They often put it in awful places.

In mugambala I’ve seen warlocks place it in the starting room in a 3 melee lobby. Bro, place it at the edge on the upper level. Not anywhere else.

edit: I was just now in a shuffle in the legion arena, idk what it’s even called.

Warlock puts his port in the starting room.

He fears melee DPS into the starting room.

He ports into the melee DPS and dies.

Next round:

He puts it in the starting room and has moved to the opening when he gets attacked.

He ports to his port that is right next to him.

Dies again.

Bro.

Locks have to learn also, no doubt about it.
Higher rating better players, less mistakes from all parties. Its waste of nerves to be angry on new players, cos tons to learn about wow.

These aren’t new players.

Ha ha, then I dunno what locks you got there. I can tell you there are tons of bought accounts also, or in premades boosted players. I had situations where I just don’t understand what my teammate is doing, not expecting moves from player with his account exp.

This warlock I mentioned here:

Has achieved duelist multiple times.

I went 6-0 but I do feel bad for the enemy healer for having him those 2 first rounds. I gripped him away from the exit so they weren’t right on top of his port at least when he was on my team.

this isn’t about a 1 time situation

I literally have the same exact arguement shade is doing with you a month ago on another post

but you can’t fill a bottle with holes on the bottom

Ok. I shall.

He should stay mid, on your drawing, between the Warlock and the port. Even if you are close by too, you moved there to avoid the Warlock (you said so), and you are moving to avoid the fear. So, just by staying here in the middle, in the Warlock’s line of sight, he is protected from being feared by you because if you remain there yourself rather than evade the lock ny going behind pillars, you get feared. Also, he has Grounding, Earthgrab, Lasso, Hex and Static Field totem at his disposal to claim mid field while keeping you at bay with your Chastise fear for a while, enough that if you spend all your globals and energy going through his entire kit just to land one fear, someone may die.

That’s how.

Also, if he is to get CC’ed eventually, then better be CC’ed close (or closer at least) to where the warlock will end up so that he can heal him. Going behind that pillar just to end up caught there is super feed when he could let himself be caught middle, fear sending him back towards the port actually, while fear would send him away from it on your drawing due to your relative positions (fear path isn’t random).

You are also wrong on that because something seems to elude you: the other DPS on your team. It’s a full melee lobby aside from the Warlock. If you run WITHIN LINK RANGE of your already CC’ed healer (who can therefore not avoid CC), what happens ? He can get gouged. Stunned. DR of those. DR warrior fear. But if the Warlock can port away from the CC’ed healer and the melees, said melees have to choose between chasing or securing more CC, and because port renders the Warlock immune to snares for 4s he can run around safely around whatever pillar he ported to, even if they do reconnect, and end up in healer LoS and close to range after the post port kiting and if the healer remained close enough to be caught in the port area and not two maps away.

Phew. Clear ?

My man, do you know that he can link from range, with the other DPS? He doesn’t have to be there himself. It has a 40 yard range. It is most definitely not the play to run the opposite direction from the shaman and then port even further away.

If someone is in a fear and gets gouged off, or anything else, he cannot use any spell because he is in CC … I thought that was clear enough…

So… from what im reading here i should not play healer in shuffles then ? Good to know

Tbh as someone who dabbled a bit (but only in disc) I found healing 2s infinitely more fun than healing shuffles but maybe that’s me. I’d much prefer a 2v2 shuffle to heal than 3s. I’m probably in a minority though and the queues would probably suck.

As someone who plays every role, but still playing the game super casually, I’d agree that as a healer, regular 2s and 3s are far more enjoyable than shuffle. As dps idm either bracket really, but barely ever tried shuffle as a dps due to que times, So can’t really comment to much on that compared to regular arenas.

I think this is the case for alot of newer or more casual healers, so I’d most certainly recommend starting out in 2s over shuffle when you’re trying to get the hang of healing pvp

For a healer in shuff higher you get more enjoyable it becomes
When ppl know when n how to press shuff becomes fast n nice way to play the game
