New Instance Limit in WoW Classic

Normally I would be doing Maraudon now for several hours. But I can’t because in about 14 hours I will be doing dungeons with my guild. And possibly get my alt boosted some time before or after that, which is all within the 24 hour window.

I sincerely hope you do not use the argument that you have not seen enough people hit this cap to do something about it. You have to realize that we are actively trying to avoid reaching it in case it locks us out for something important. Sure you can always plan a bit ahead, but sometimes people are spontaneous and it would be a shame to miss out on an event with your friends or guild mates because you are locked.

There are so many many reasons why this 30 instance cap is a bad and unfair addition to the game. Just go ahead and read through all the comments in this thread or any other on these forums. If anything this cap has made me more aware of the limitations imposed upon players and wonder why we have a 5 instance per hour cap to begin with? What purpose does it serve? My brother who plays Classic and retail told me they can do 10 instances per hour on retail. Why is that?

At least give us some kind of feedback here. You don’t have to make a new thread and provide us with pages of information. Just communicate, discuss and argue with us. What are your thoughts behind this limiting cap? Yes, we know it was to combat bots but clearly we can rule that argument out as bots can easily circumvent this while legitimate players can not. Why? Because bots will have several characters across different realms for a wider market to sell gold to. This means that once they hit the 24h cap on a realm they can simply switch to one of their others and keep the bots running there and cycle it like that. Most legitimate players are only playing on a single realm where they do everything. If anything this cap would encourage people to make new characters on different realms and considering the current situation with realms being locked and layers implemented is that something you want? Can you not see how these changes affect the game and players in it?

It has been 5 days now since you posted this thread and we have yet to see any blue comment here despite the comments soon reaching a thousand. This is currently the 3rd most commented thread ever on the WoW Classic EU forums and deserves attention accordingly. Please acknowledge your mistake and correct it.

Asinine change.
Developers / game directors are out of touch.
What a sad sad state of affairs, all this will do long term is drive people away from the game.

Dungeons didnt have a limit for some time in vanilla, it came later, i remember doing many runs in diremaul and reset it back then, just killing the first pack of lashers inside DME again and again, got me a few epics doing that, the 5 instance limit an hour came a little later after that.

So far i havent been locked out for a day, but when ever anyone is asking for help for a dungeon for any reason, im not going to be joining as easy anymore, not that it happened often, but probably wont help anyone as often anymore because of this limit, if you have a problem with cheaters / bots hire more people to search for them.

don’t have kids ==> problem solved.

you and I are normal.

The people complaining are a mixture of folk with odd shiff patterns (which would translate to a block of days off/on work), genuinely disabled people, whom would not necessarily be online for considerable amounts of time (due to the nature of normal life tasks taking longer to complete work around) and the unemployed.

These are the people I think for when looking at the instance restriction, which promotes playing in the world as opposed to an instanced/lobby style game.

Blizzard are clearly trying to invigorate the MMO aspect of classic (it’s not about bots really).

This change mainly affects the work-shy types, which treat unimployment as a lifestyle choice. Simply content to play a video game for an entire day.

Don’t consider yourself odd for playing the life game, which is far better than flushing ones only chance at actually living a productive, meaningful and loving life.

Remember this is and always will be just a game, which holds no comparison to life itself. btw you sound like an awesome parent!

You are basically encouraging players to not play the game. It is absolutely insane that I go to bed and sleep for a proper 8 hours, only to wake up and find myself instance locked from last night’s dungeons and then having to wait a FULL DAY to actually play the game?? what were you thinking?

Good to see things being done against botting. but i come to problem with this limitation. a.t.m. i’m doing lots of arena runs and its hard to see how many i have done already.
will there be something were i can see how many if done within 24 hours?

Also this limitation makes it almost imposible for some items to get.
Like the epic dagger from mara.
Will there be an increase in drop change for bis items?

Terrible and lazy attempt to fix botting. 30 instances goes by pretty fast, if you play or farm on a couple chars during the day. Kinda sucky to find out you cant really play your account/char for the rest of the evening because of this BS. If it actually did anything to hurt botter’s for more than 10mins i’d support it… but it wont. Hire the guys making the bot software and get some original ideas for a change.

you guys can’t see the truth behind this xD

Before the change?
1A- gold sellers could use 5x accounts(65€ per month) and bot 24/7 in dungeons to get gold
2A- power level boosters & max character sellers? was able to have 1account to boost 24/7 with it

After the change “limit”
1B-the gold seller will need to use 20account to be able to bot 24/7 which mean he pays 260euro
2B-those power level boosters will need multi accounts to do that 24/7 and those who max char to sell will be slower so they will pay subs formore accounts to use the full time.

so basically more accounts to be used by black market dealers which mean More SUBS and if…if once blizzard suddenly ban them? few days after they pay the monthly fee on all accounts? they will need to re-pay that much amount Again to replace all those accounts & that’s more income to blizz than before.

That’s a perfect change for more money into blizzard pockets.
Blizzard did not decide on eliminating bots! they just decided on milking more cash out of those bots!

In general, I suggest that Blizzard consider the following ways to combat universal evil in the WOW

  1. No more than 100 kill mobs a day, otherwise you suddenly have something farm.
  2. No more than 3 hours in the game per day, permoban to everyone who spent more, this is clearly RMT. A normal person cannot have free time, this is fantastic.
  3. The ban on being in a radius of 100m around the lowlvl characters level 60 ( the capital does not count).
  4. The ban on having more than one character. And then they’ll spawn twinks for the prof.
    Where does it fit?

Yes, what is really petty, ban everyone who has more than 300g in his pocket. After all, 300g is enough for RT, but more is already luxury and RMT.

Im speaking for wow community: 32 per day and we are satisfied i did the math

Bots just switch servers every 5-6 hours and theres no limit. Not like they usually have all their bots on single server.

switch? they already have 24/7 available bots on every server
don’t underestimate the world of bots!

I dont like this why always the whiners need to change the game? So dumb… instead of whining just go to retail and dont bother in changing classic!

Was the community this toxic and whiner back in 2004-2006?
