New main df?

Hi all,

As title stated: looking for a new class to main for DF, what do u guys think would be fun to play?
I kinda like the tankiness of pally and Dk, but the fact that they are so slow… kinda bothers me… right now I’m lvling a rogue that is at lvl 35 ish, it’s fun, but hard to fight 2/3/4 mobs at same time… so don’t know how that’s gonna turn out…
What I’m looking for is kinda a fast paced class, I think mostly dps and Mayb with a tank off spec (isn’t necessary tho) ranged or melee both fine with me… so;

  • fast paced
  • can handle some mobs
  • melee or ranged dps
  • I don’t heal so that’s not a plus for me.
  • fun rotation, (not too hard, since I don’t have hours to play anymore)

I know all of this screams warrior, but I hope someone can give me some other insights…

Fire mage would be a perfect fit for this with its fast-paced combustion rotation and ability to pull lots of stuff when you have burst up, but the rotation can get complex. Especially if you are new to it.

Maybe you’ll like demon hunter? It seems to tick these boxes, unless you find that rotation too easy. It’s hard to judge what’d be a fun but not too complex rotation to you.

No class performs properly until level 50+, arguably 60. Don’t use level 35 as a guide to how it will be at endgame - check Icy Veins or similar for the strengths and weaknesses of each spec :smile_cat:

Maybe consider monk. Lot of buttons to press, some thinking needed about which ones when, lots of in-combat movement options and footspeed in general.

i don’t understand why people cannot decide this choice for themselves.

isn’t that more fun?

picking a class yourself means you may actually stick to it and avoid this problem in the future.

DH or Monk.

Both have tank spec are fast and can handle large mob groups.

Demon hunter sounds like it might be for you, high mobility and it has a tank spec.
But it’s also super simple, while that can be fun for some it can also be boring for others.

Not sure either but can’t make that decision without trying out the new talent trees first.

Yup, I’m currently at 1 main, 5 alts after playing around with the trees on wowhead, which is not realistic :neutral_face: I’d love to decide but it’s just not possible atm.

They’re tho.
Tanks with more mobility: DH, Monk, Druid, Warrior
So pretty much only leaves DK below them
Once that pretty horse is done running you are wheelchair

I’ve been having a lot of fun with holy paladin recently so I think I might continue with that. Definitely going to try the new class out as well!

And keep a Gnome on standby of course.

Considering to give a try to Paladin. Never played melee, but Paladin seems good with self healing and potential to cover 3 roles, but I woul mainly go for holy since I love to heal. How would you describe or compare with any other healer or class?

I think the OP wrote “fast paced” class, not fast as speed related. And prot pally is indeed a fast paced spec. I can’t have a second without pressing buttons.
