Ok so they banned input broadcating software so this guy made this free software… says it’s fine and follows rules. So any customer support person can tell me if “focus follows mouse” is allowed? (I think not but what do I know?)
Sounds like software making multiboxing easier, thus bannable.
He doesn’t even really explain why this is complient, big red flag.
While “Focus Follows Mouse” is not input broadcasting, it is automated input. No action / keypress is taken to switch the focus.
Guess time will tell if people get banned for it or not. Personally, I hope they get banned for it.
I did find this though:
proc GetFocusFollowMouse {} {
twapi::get_system_parameters_info SPI_GETACTIVEWINDOWTRACKING
}
From their sourcecode
Documentation:
To me, this is “botting” because a background software automatically takes an action on the game - but who am I to decide that?
Yes it seems very off… and as it’s free people could risk their accounts using it.
It’s not the only one either - this one is pay to use:
What are “input hooks”?
After a 10 second look at their github, it looks like custom code that you can define that is executed whenever you switch windows. I would potentially categorize that as botting as well, especially if the list of automated actions can contain a keypress or similar. However, I don’t have time to check that.
If I really felt the need to multibox, I’d just alt-tab
Both need keybinds - I guess that’s how they sell it as legal. Hardware boxing hasn’t been banned and that will have many pcs reacting to one keyboard.
This guy is hardware boxing… seems the change hasn’t affected him one bit
Focus follows mouse is an accessibility option built into Windows (and standard behaviour in some other operating systems). On its own, it shouldn’t be something that would get you banned.
But I imagine that this would be something that would get you banned.
With all the complaints about how multiboxing hasn’t really stopped 5+ account node farming I guess they will be taking another look into it soon enough.
just perma ban him, period. Blizzard need to take actions NOW
So long as Blizzard say multiboxing is okay there will be those boxers that can pay for everything with gold… doesn’t cost them anything.
Why would they quit if they don’t have to? They are making gold as before.
We need limits on tokens, make them useable only for gametime - not pets mounts and other Blizzard products/services.
Madness right here
You may use the in-game Shop to purchase a maximum of 20 Tokens per week
Your Blizzard account can only have one type of Token and:
a maximum of 20 Tokens purchased with money in your inventory at one time, or
a maximum of 10 Tokens purchased with gold in your inventory at one time
Pretty sure that would fall under botting? Or am I wrong?
They argue that nothing happens without a keypress and it round robins each window from a hotkey (so no more casting together)… I guess they will tell themselves anything at this point.
I’m not an expert on the ToS but my impression is that the only automation allowed is through in-game macros. Anything else would be seen as botting.
But like I said I’m not an expert so I could be wrong.
This is how they explain it:
Jmb isnt sending anything to the game. Your keyboard is doing that. Jmb is just swapping windows. Blizz cant say anything about what key you set to be able to swap windows.
Many people use keyboards that are capable of doing things that could get us banned… for instance people using
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/gse-gnome-sequencer-enhanced-advanced-macros
On the lazy macros page they talk about setting ms delays and autofiring a mouse or keyboard. They have been doing that for a long time using a one button macro.
just ban them all or deal with it blizz
They need to be clear. Allow it or don’t.
With messages like this they will continue to push the line.
There are these druids in Maldraxxus farming the herbs and never giving me a chance to pick up the herbs! I SAW THEM PICK UP THE HERBS ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!!
AND THEY DO IT IN PLACES WHERE YOU GOT NO DANGER OF ENEMIES!
SCUM! ALL OF THEM!
Now that I think about it, they are probably botting at the same time, their trajectories were tooooooo clean.
Before you ask, yes I reported them… Since day 1…sigh…
