The current expansion and its end-game content are the only thing that matters, whatever it is that you’re doing now is just a means to an end.

that isnt my question .i am lvl 10 .as a level 10 i have to start in dragon isle or someplace else ?

It doesn’t matter, it’s old content, and the story making sense is irrelevant.

Why does it matter where you start, you see a quest, just do it.

As of the pre patch, Dragonflight became the default leveling experience. Of course if you wish you can go to Chromie and choose the expansion you wish to level in up to level 60.

I would suggest going to the dragon isles, i think you would have the best leveling experience.

aah okay .because i was confused .in most guides it said something like get the battle of azeroth quest .so it is safe to start in dragonflight without any problem as lvl 10 ?

Ah I see your problem. See you want to pick the left faction, so you end up in stormwind

Well most guides are a bit outdated right now. Yes ever since parch 11.0 came out it was Blizzard’s intent that new players level in the Dragon Isles.

Does that work for a fresh made account? I thought I needed one max level character

I wish ffxiv would take the player to the latest expansion instead of working your way up from first to latest. aaaaaaa

As a new players you will automaticly be sent to the Dragon Isles and continue your adventure there. You will do this up to level 70. Once the new expansion is released you will be able to continue in The War Within expansion when you hit level 70.

Also if you have 1 level 70 character you can choose to level a second one in the Dragon Isles or pick one of the older expansions to level trough.

The guide is out of date, I had to help a newcomer yesterday as well to navigate his way through.

What guide did you read out of interest?

Your next character could choose a different timeline at level 10 if you wanted to vary your levelling journey. All new accounts/players/returning veterans have to go through Exile’s Reach and the Dragon Isles. This ensures you pick up dragon riding.

I’d start in Vanilla myself, but would that mean not getting dragonflying?

For me, the levelling experience of taking my first character from 10 to 110 through the older content really immersed me in the game and gave me a good feel for the history of the story. I also felt the same when I started playing GW2 this year as you start with original story. Starting new players in DF has a valid purpose but I’m not sure I’d have committed to the game in the way I did back in 2017.

Go with the flow, the Dragon Isles are probably the best place to start anyways, then you can go back to older expansions by talking to Chromie when you decide to make alts.
Oh, and welcome to Azeroth.

If you are a new player that is your only choice? If you got to max level you can pick what content to level in for your other characters.

on first character it was still showing bfa mission statement where you have to meet sylvanas windrunner for some mission but because of comments here i went with dragon isles .

Did the game direct you there?

Dragonflight & the Dragon Isles are since the most recent patch the content to level through when you start as a new player.

Most guides you’ll find online are outdated due to this change.

So yeah, Dragon Isles is the place to be. Good luck and have fun.
