New Player need help!

I’m playing wow and having a great time, but for some reason, I can’t find a group for deadmines dungeon, only freehold appears on the dungeon finder so my question is how can I find a group or will deadmines be available when I hit a certain level

Welcome to the game :slight_smile:
The new player experience was redesigned with the current expansion so your first character will be tied to leveling through the previous expansion, Battle for Azeroth. This includes the dungeon finder tool, so on your first character and until you reach level 50 with it, you will only be able to see dungeons in the finder from the BfA expansion, Freehold being the first one and subsequent ones showing up at later levels.
If you have your heart set on Deadmines, there’s 2 things you can do:

  • level this character to level 50 and start a new one which chooses to level in Azeroth (Cataclysm era)
  • try and find a group outisde of the dungeon finder, either in the “Premade Groups” section of the finder tool or in the zonechat for Westfall

Not many people are playing through these older dungeons outside of the dungeon finder tool, so the second point above will probably not be super helpful.

After the level squish that came with Shadowlands, all previous expansions now overlap in the level 10-50 range, however as mentioned above, new players are not given any choice here and are always tied to BfA as their expansion to level through on their first character (including the dungeon finder tool). This has been a bit of a controversial choice, so hopefully this will change at some point on the future, but for now I’m afraid the above 2 options are the only ones.

I have heard that it is possible to work around this (bad, IMO) limitation by going to BfA, going through the tour of Boralus, and then going back to Chomie, when choice of expansion will be open without hitting 50. There is a post here somewhere about it.
