New Player - No one takes me to raid party

Hey all,

Im a new player. Started about a month ago and Im at a point where I need to do Heroic Amirdrassil in order to progress my gear. The trouble is that no one acceepts my request to join their parties. I have tried for this entire week and no one accepts me. I have 462 ilvl since I upgraded my gear to its max limits. What can I do to progress at this point?

I’d assumed there was sarcasm involved, but anyway, good luck to OP on their adventures too.

I’ll echo what Saneko said, see if you can find a pleasant raiding guild on your server. There are also communities as an option. Both can be found on these forums if you scroll down a bit at the main forum page with all the different sections. That way you can see which ones are recruiting, and whether something seems like a good fit

Nothing, struggle to find a group/guild or pay for boost and stop telling people you’re a new player.
Learn mechanics really good and start doing your own groups after 2-3 seasons of that you will be able to join a proper guild.
Sorry that this is the case- we all hate it, yet we’re the guards to our own happiness.
Welcome to world of elitismcraft.

They don’t accept me into the group either.

Elitist toxic raid Pauls.

Either

OR

Make your own group, be your own raid team leader. You don’t need to just join groups. If you can’t find any willing to take you, make the group that takes people like you.

Be your own change.

Making friends and finding a supportive guild can make a world of difference. While the game developers may encourage players to focus on enjoying the game with others rather than just their class, unfortunately not everyone in the community shares this mindset. It’s disheartening to feel like you’re at the mercy of strangers who don’t care about your experience. It’s important to remember that optimal DPS or rotation knowledge isn’t necessary, especially for content that’s been out for a while.

You’re gonna need to join a guild for that most likely.

Getting into heroic pugs is nigh impossible unless you’ve already done it, which usually requires a guild or at least a community.

So late in the season there are 4 ways I think.

  1. Either you join any type of community guild. (Easiest and best solution)

  2. You make your own group in group finder, so you get one 9/9 run, and can then get accepted to pugs. Only accept advanced players, so you don’t need to lead.

  3. You buy a 9/9 heroic boost (yes, game sucks for that), and hope someone invites you without checking your logs

  4. Play M+ until 3k Rio and 480 ilvl, so pugs leaders think you’re good enough despite lack of xp. Else you can also just lie about xp too.

Find a progressing guild. Pug raids are usually created for fast reclear/farm, which means usually a requirement of having AOTC (you already beat Heroic). And 462ilvl is too low, with M+ spamming you should be somewhere 475-480 at this point.

And ofc usual meme in this situation

OP, you got a plethora of options, LFG Premades ain’t the only one where they typically take people with the achievement and what not

There’s plenty of communities and guilds around that are willing to help out new comers.

Because the community is full of gate keeping scum that just get the most sensational rock on over putting barriers to entry on just about anything.

In short they want to see Curve.

If you don’t intend on running with a guild, you may be able to get a place in an alt run or something. But again, they will probably want to see Curve.

Two options:

  1. Run your own group
  2. Join a guild

I guess, as you are a new player, option 1 is not an option for you, so I would probably join the guild. It is really easy

It’s because people tend to take the path of least resistance and just invite people that have cleared the content that they want to play and are way beyond the Ilvl that drops there.

Same concept goes for M+ where you will see partyleaders invite 3k players to +18 keys with 480+ ilvl.

That has nothing to do with gatekeeping or people being intentionally toxic towards new players or anything like that.

If OP would be in the same situation as the raidleaders he is applying to, he wouldn’t even be taking himself to the raid, instead he would invite a 7/9 mythic, 3,3k rio player as everyone else does.

It’s just a simple principle of open market competition. If 483ilvl with AOTC and 462ilvl without it apply, pretty much obvious who will be invited.

Dictionary

gate·keep·ing

[ˈɥeÉȘtkiːpÉȘƋ]

NOUN

  1. the activity of controlling, and usually limiting, general access to something:

“Wal-Mart’s cultural gatekeeping has served to narrow the mainstream for entertainment offerings”

While that’s all well and good, and I respect that individuals have the right to compose their groups however they see fit, the OP is being pushed away from content and this isn’t right. Someone should give the lad a fair chance. Do you really need a full group of AOTC players to do heroic? Not really no.

If finding a guild doesn’t appeal to you, try joining a community that does raids.

Dungeon Dojo for example has a very good reputation

I’ve also seen others recommend No Pressure

I believe Scared of Dungeons also do raid events

It’s not right. But this is how game designed, with open competition and no help for newcomers, enabling gatekeeping and this kind of toxicity. All complains to Bliz.
