Just found this gem from Ion Hazzikostas from Monday:
I think that when people see login queues to an extreme extent, or in some cases aren’t even able to get in queue because the queue is full — which is a phenomenon that has never been seen in WoW before, but may well be seen on those two servers — they will move. The problem will solve itself. There are enough servers out there to support the number of people who want to play.

I for one don’t mind the high queue. Yes, its annoying at first glance that you can’t play right away, but as so many times in the past, we all know it’ll be sorted out sooner or later.
But try to look at it from another point of view; Classic has so far been a tremendous success, something blizzard has been denying for so many years that it would ever be. It also shows that so many people like the origins of the game. Sure there are a whole bunch of people just checking it out and leaving after a few weeks, but the interest of classic is undeniable.
This could have a huge impact in the long run of the development of future patches and even expansion packs.

Whilst this clarity does help. It doesn’t help when you really have no where else to go. The only safe havens at this very moment are Hydraxian (RP), Skullflame and Ten Storms (PvP) as these are currently “Medium”
There’s no PvE servers to go to. Nethergarde is classed as “high” and currently doesn’t have a queue, but that won’t hold.
you can label them BROKEN all we care. we want issue to be fixed, not labeled.

Give out free transfers and some new servers. It won’t stabilize in any other way!!! I understand you are a company and this has a loss but we are paying customers. In the end we are paying you!
Things will only get worse. There are lots of people that havent even started yet!!

Well this is a step in the right direction I guess
blizzerd plz make your realms with a max account join slots so we can always come in and play as we have a slot on that realm what can come a full realm on realm account slots. so we can always play the game what we love so much
Good thing, but it doesn’t really solve the actual problem here, which is the insanely long queue times.
New servers are also nice, but I believe that most people have already established guilds and communities on those full servers and they don’t want to star over on new servers.
Maybe allow players to migrate to those new servers for free for limited time?
edit. Gehennas for example currently has (devilish) 666 min. queue. I would
switch servers on a moments notice, but all my friends are already playing on Gehennas and they don’t want to start over on a new server. So I either suck it up and wait for 11 hours or go and play alone on a new server.
It’s crazy. Over 100k players are waiting for their que atm.
Better add like 10 more servers for EU (and plenty for NA, I assume), grant us free transfer from all the current realms (exept for those that has not hit ‘high population’ yet) and perhaps some sort of compensation for those that actually stayed hours to get into their server.
I’m sure it’ll die down and mabye half of the playerbase will quit Classic, but they should leave satisfied, not annoyed and frustrated because of the queues.
