Has any of these new connections been connected twice? I.e. has any cluster been merged and the resulting cluster merged again with something else?

Darkmoon Faire and Earthen Ring, both RP servers, are already part of a connected realm. According to the Bluepost, the following Servers are in Maintenance soon:
Darkmoon Faire, Defias Brotherhood, Earthen Ring, Ravenholdt, Scarshield Legion, Sporeggar, The Venture Co
So I assume that they will merge again, which gives me the conclusion that multiple merges are possible.
My server(Darkspear) will have a 9 hour maintenance this wedneday, together with some none connected realms. There hasn’t been an anouncement though that my server will be merged. Is this Blizzard’s way of letting you know? If so %$#^&@#$%^ Blizzard.

Hello, DMF/ER person here. We’d hoped to be merged with you Moonglade et al guys. It seems like that would have been a good match, especially for the RP. Nevertheless, fingers crossed, and let’s all sit tight for now.

No, I mean in these new connections they’ve been doing recently. If in this whole batch they connected things once, and then again, then there is precedent. If they haven’t, it looks less likely.
Making an RP-supercluster would honestly make sense. It could need a good old free transfer away from it to a normal server if it happens, so we can ease the load on the cluster by removing some non-RPers. Either that or BlizzVision needs to invest in some new hardware.

But what happens if you have a full set of characters on one server, and several others on the one it merges with? I mean, they take two or more servers and make them into one, right?
It might be a dumb question I am asking here because I’ve no idea what they’re actually doing and only going by what merger means to me.

if you have a DMF char,and an ER char ,you wont see them together,it connects both servers to the same “room”

Nope–it works exactly like it does now, but instead of having Moonglade, The Sha’tar and Steamwheedle Cartel to choose from on our cluster, we wound have several more attached.
So from our perspective, nothing would really happen except an increase in population.

When you’ve played on and off, on multiple different servers, for 15 years, it’s not difficult to reach that limit. I’ve already deleted several ancient chars I would’ve liked to kept in order to make more RP chars (even if most of them are unlikely to ever actually be used).
