Not this week, I suppose they’re waiting to see if the previous RP server connections is stable. Currently the forums haven’t been joined yet, and to me it would be a bit pointless to do it if another server is joining it.
You’ll find this realm much less overwhelming with activity in chat channels. Sorry that the Defias cluster is overwhelming you. Perhaps consider leaving the Trade channel.
I wouldn’t know, I just assumed if the majority of players on our realms are non-RPers, then the economy would be worse without them… But I know even less about WoW economy than I do about IRL economy, and that’s saying something
SL is approaching in fast steps and it seems and its unfortunate to see that Blizzard hasn’t yet published any news on any server merges.
In a different WOW Community channel I have read that Blizzard has changed the algorithm on how to calculate the server population activity that you can see in the ingame realm list, following all the server merges.
Looks like we have officially reached the bottom
Argent Dawn: High
Darkmoon Faire: High
Defias Brotherhood: High
Earthen Ring: High
Ravenholdt: High
Scarshield Legion: High
Sporeggar: High
The Venture Co.: High
Moonglade: Low
The Shatar: Low
Steamwheedle Cartel: Low
Is anyone in here who believes that this is the outcome Blizzard was going for?
Hi, there is still time to see where the servers will end to look like after merges. As said in this original merge post (https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/new-realm-connections-are-underway/572562 ), it says on July 3. over the next 2-3 moths the merges are taking place. So up to October. My guess is it will take place on next week or the week after during maintenance, and the announcement came very late before it took place for DB et al. and DF et al.
Also I have a hunch that it may be that there will be another merge on DB & DF et al. The guild finder on DB doesn’t show yet the guilds of the other merged realms, which is strange and maybe due to merging is not complete.
The community is currently working on ic matters to get it working together better to some extent and I believe there will be even more work ahead after possibly having the second merge so soon.
ps.
I don’t claim that merge will take place as mentioned, it’s my personal view on it, which may be also wrong.
To clear things up a bit, as people can be a tad confused with who’s connected to who, here’s the current groupings.

I think it’ll be like last time connections were done, we’re last on the list (if we’re on it!)
Thanks for reworking my table. So you say last time server merges were done by Blizzard, it happened as the last batch overal? Wasn’t playing WoW at this time I am afraid
DMF/ER member here. Since the merge with the Defias gang there’s been explosion of boost spam on /Trade. It’s…noisy. I’m not seeing many new RP benefits at present.
I may be wrong, but for small(-ish) RP realms, getting merged seems to be a case of “damned if you do, and damned if you don’t”;
If we do, we get all those …annoying… non-RPers. They shouldn’t exist on RP realms, but like other undesirable creatures, they shamelessly weasel their way in.
If we don’t, we can kiss guild recruitment and new (role-)players goodbye…
I’m just going to say that these kind of statements are starting to get old. I could understand it if you had flocks of people actively trolling you, but as far as I know I don’t think that happens all too often now does it?
Alas, I could go on a full on sperg-out about this, but i’d probably just upset a lot of people.
I agree that they are usually not actively bothering us RPers, but I still don’t see a reason why there should be non-RPers on RP realms. I can arrive in Boralus (or whatever is the current “hot spot”), and the vast majority of players I see, are not RPers. On an RP realm.
As a full-time RPer, as I tag myself in the RP add-on, I have to choose between ignoring them, or IC trying to make sense of their (from an RPing point of view) nonsensical actions.
I may come off as either ignorant or a moody crybaby, but when there are designated RP servers, I don’t understand why there are non-RPers on them.
The realm connection announcement/update thread was unstickied about an hour ago, that leaves one to wonder whether this is it, at least until after Shadowlands launch.
Yeah… What with the lack of connections this week, the fact that the Americans only had a couple of connections and no message saying more were on the way, and that the European thread was apparently unstickied by an American Mod, it really doesn’t look good.
Hopefully we’ll actually be told what is going on when our own Mods are at work.
Indeed. If we don’t get connected we can pretty much guarantee that any players wanting to create a character on an RP server will avoid our low pop servers like the plague, not to mention those who will migrate to other servers for both RP and PVE progression.
I’m trying to be optimistic and hopeful, but things aren’t looking good.
I went here because of the low pop (medium before they changed). I wanted something smaller, with no overcrowded places, but it also meant I won’t be able to do walk up social RP when I’m bored in SW like I can on AD.
