Let’s say they sold a $10.000 dollar in-game title.
Some people would buy that just to feel special.
But that would obviously be objectionable, because it’s clear at that point that Blizzard are taking advantage of people’s attachment to the game to get their money.
A $90 mount is not as objectionable, but it still is. It’s an absurd amount of money for a digital item in a premium cost game with a running subscription. It really is just Blizzard taking advantage of people’s attachment to the game to take more money from them than what’s reasonable.
I see it honestly like this, I spend the money on a game I like to play, rather than some recurring 60 euro sport package… or even god forbid 80 euro packages for streaming or TV.
Well they arent really running a charity or the UN’s Human rights and ethics commision now eh? In theory they can charge like 50 000 000 for some pixel in-game. While its doubtful if its a sound business strategy but are there any laws broken by it?
To be sure. I’m on a quiet server, and I can see 10 on my screen right now at £60 a pop. I bet their shop sales have exploded, and it’s exceeded everything they’re selling.
