Yeaah man, it’s completely free, just pay 65 euro and it’s yours. Oh you get a 6 month sub as well? Sheesh, that’s truly a hot deal. I bet everyone will be busy playing wow for that 6 months. We just got so much quality content in 9.1, and it only took them what? 8 months? It’s not like they want to lock you in for a 6 month duration while they’ll be busy thinking about new ways on how to waste our time more efficiently in the next patch. The remaining players must provide the lost /played hours that they loose with the constantly declining numbers of active players. They gotta squeeze out everything from us.

Again, this and the Classic changes, just milking every ounce out of the cow as they possibly can. God damnit.

The mount special is just pure eye-candy. It’s such a high-quality mount regardless of personal taste. It’s straight-up Articuno when it does its special animation.
You have to appreciate what the developers are capable of making, even though the effort goes where it does.

It’s basically like, here’s 9.1, totally devoid of anything great, but hey, 6 months subs and you get one of the literally coolest mounts in the game, please buy it, please, please please?
No new content still 2022 by the way.
Like, come on. There has been some effort gone into this and it’s just another slap into the face of the player, heres another reskinned horse but hey if you give Bobby another 70 quid you can have super shiny Articuno bird.

This literally could have been a mount collector achievement, a reason to plough on, to make use of content, instead it’s a cash grab, just ugh, come on man.

What does it do that’s unique?
Is it really that terrible that they add 2 mounts a YEAR to the store, both of which, if you have a a 6month sub you get them for free? And just because you might not want to sub for 5 month, for a lot of people it is more convenient.
Granted sure, I agree, some of them, like the Cata mount, would’ve served better as a raid reward. But I don’t see how it hurts that they add 2 mounts per year, if they added one every 2 monhts, then I would be concerned but it’s 2.

Yeah I think we can all decode Blizzard’s business strategy here.
I mean, I can link Asmongold’s spiel – which I have never done before – and simply say that I agree 100% with him. That’s where we’re at.
Have you seen the Pokémon movie? The one with Lugia and the other legendary birds? And when they play the flute and they all get revived and break free and emerge in the sky in a fantastic show of majesty? That’s what it does that’s unique.

It bursts out like a pokemon coming out of a poke ball, Articuno is the best description I’ve seen. Theyve literally had to design this from the ground up.

It’s rare we don’t have a demo vid from wowhead when these things are discovered. So I wondered.
It’s not free because you are committing to the 6 months sub and then come the next patch cycle it’s a 40 quid charge. That’s not free.
If you buy 5 beers off me and I chuck in a 6th as the incentive, then I’m just suckering you in because you’ve just bought 5 beers instead of the 1 you might originally have.

Every time a new store mount gets released that guy creates an “im so outraged, its unbelivable” video. Idk if the store mount or asmon’s stupid video is more of a shameless cash grab, but i’d guess they’re on the same level.
Yeah it’s a bit out of nowhere. I think it was speculated that they’d present the next 6 months subscription mount closer to the ending of the current one (which was presented in February, so it would end in August). But they’re very upfront and early with this one. Seemingly that’s taken even Wowhead by surprise.

It’s the mentality behind it. Don’t you get it? It’s a game that is already monetized on multiple layers. You pay a box price for every expansion, and on top of that you pay a monthly fee. We waited 8 months for a new patch, and all we got for in-game rewards are recolors, among a few truly new mounts, but they are nowhere near as good as this. Look at this.
Completely new and unique skeleton, animations, effects, etc.
And you can come at me again with the argument that goes like this: but it’s free…
No it’s not. If you’d pay for subs for 6 months without a break then yes, it can be considered free. But most players will play for 2-3 months, and then they’ll go to play another game, especially since we got so little content in SL so far.
They want you to pay for the game for 6 months, even if you’ll stop playing halfway trough. And this is just a disgusting business strategy.
