New talent trees doesn't actually look very good

Its a big step to bring back talent trees and takes balls to finally get rid of borrowed power. This is one thing i’m looking forward too the most, i might actually get to use my brain in picking talents instead of going to a site and picking the cookie cutter spec.

Yes yes i know it might be bad but for once i’m giving Activision a thumbs up for trying to fix a major issue after listening to players and putting the work in … AND i won’t judge after seeing a few pictures and instead wait and see.

No it is not, you have 21 possible combination.

By illusion of choice, what is meant is most ‘choices’ are considered redundant because they are inferior, and no sensible person would pick them-- or so they say.

That applies to both the new and old system.

I’m sure one can pick more things with the new talents. Most people would see it as more wrong ways to play, but for others it is actually more choice.

+1 stamina is not different way to play, in current system we have more active abilities.

according the known first draft of the druid tree, you will be prunned of many of the current base abilities and you will have to pick them as talents (the square talents).

so some talents will be mandatory to be picked if you want to perform, lets say, as a tank you will have to go iron fur, but also skull bash and taunt, this already locks plenty of talents early in 3 paths.

it will be cleared once we know how many talets we got, how many filler talents the tree will have (what matter are the toolkit spells basicly)

so the faster they get first draft out, the faster we can see what base abilities were lost and are not tallents and the paths we can make with the talents that will be given to us.

EDIT:
" In the pre-patch at Level 60, you will have a total of 51 talent points for your class tree and your specialization tree, split up as 26 in your class and 25 in your spec tree.

Upon reaching maximum level (70) in Dragonflight, you will have 61 total talent points to spend, with 31 in your class tree and 30 in your spec tree."

what we all can agree is it will be a breath of fresh air regarless of how limiting or freeing it will be

Whilst I agree this is a good win I think the real winners are us all when we move into the following expac and we don’t lose half our powers in one fel swoop like we did with Artifact, Corruptions, Azerite Powers and Covenant abilities.

Also when it comes to balancing, they won’t have three new systems to add to the mix every expac which takes two years to balance (only to be thrown out when it’s finally somewhat batanced).

In the Druid one u can see already that we are missing the 25 Row Completly and than we have to choose from 5 Octagons = 10 Talents = 5 Abilitys and w e have to specialize into Baselines too so we cant get all 5 Octagons that means we already gonna start with less Buttons into the expansion

Great feeling  cant wait to Play DH/BM sleeper Rotation on every Class/Specc

ITS NOT TO EARLY TO TELL  u can already see that we are losing abilitys! or do u think they make the other 5 Talents Baseline in the Druid Tree? we are losing 5 Talents!

Little help for some people here.

Constructive feedback is when you give feedback about something that was properly tested and you think its working/not working properly, enjoyable/not enjoyable and you tell why.

Whining is when you look at a picture before alpha testing even begins and claim that it will be a failure.

I see a lot of the latter here, OP included. If you want to make sure that your “feedback”, based on barely more than nothing, is ignored, you are doing it correctly.

But u already can see that we are missing Talents alot of Talents

u are epic fail

Pot meets kettle?

That’s what Holinka said. So take it up with him, if he spoiled it for you too soon, and you’d rather find out it’s bad later.

Yes, Blizzard could be lying.

no, they used to give like 2-4 active spells at max, and other were passive abilities, while you also had spellbook
they never worked as a replacement to spellbook and baseline spells

No, I based it on multiple interviews and clarification from blizzard, mostly Holinka.
So just remember, I know better than you what I am basing that on, so it’d be idiotic for you to be telling me something you’re clueless about and I know better.

Why do you think I just derive it from a picture? I explicitely stated multiple things I derive it from and it wasn’t just the picture.
And yes, some systems can be failure from when they’re announced (like permanent choices of covenants) and it was obvious. This is obvious too.

Just because you were unable to get more information that the picture, doesn’t mean I am. There are simply people, who know more than you.

It is a hard job, but someone has to do it :man_shrugging:

I meant that it’s too early to say whether or not the pruning is going to affect us negatively, or whether or not the trees are good enough for us to not even notice it.

If you feel you can tell, good for you, but I can’t tell anything from a screenshot with no access to the tree itself.

Some of those could be baseline, they didn’t get rid of the Spellbook you know.

I see Wild Charge in the Druid tree, idk what you’re talking about.

Right in the center, the 3rd ability is Wild Charge, if the icon is the same.
Also i see Renewal from the 25th row the same, lower down the tree, in the middle on the right side before the last ability.

What i don’t see is Tiger Dash, it could be baked into Dash now… or it could be just for some specs, or gone altogether.

It’s a new expac, we get new abilities and might lose some, first time changing expacs for you? It ALWAYS happens, however the trees might look like.

always happen ah yes

the brig boy legion class change pruning was a first time thing i call it now its another pruning to make the game more beginner friendly for newcomer wich is okay since DH/BM/Arms is designed for it

Every bloody expac has changes in the talent trees and abilities.

Every single one.

So tell me, what do you see yourself losing for what class/spec now? Based on what’s known.

Give me a list of what you lost.
