Then I react to them with full support and I look forward to the changes that are coming.
Same with resto druid. I do not look forward to having to choose between verdant infusion and flourish, something we can have at the same time currently.
I don’t how to describe them
I like how they changed layout of talent tree and how they look visualy
Biggest issue with them right now is that blizzard is going for baseline abilities??
Puting what you have into talent tree so you have this illusion of choice
But we didn’t asked for that specifically
when we wanted back talents like that we wanted to make different playstyle…
Why would you put interupts, deff CDs and all that to a TREE and call it CHOICE?
There is little choice when i was playing with it on website
not interesting at all.
It needs a lot of work but poeple who play wow pay them for new interesting ideas to bring into the game.
If this will go live dragonflight is gonna be 3rd expansion with the same bad design for classes and it doesn’t matter how cool your talent tree looks
it’s the same thing in different clothes.
Or am i the only one who see that?
To get that dispel you’re getting some healing spells… i wouldn’t call it wasted, it’s not dmg related sure, but it could prove useful.
Now the kicker is that you’re getting that dispel… why? Because you’ve had it before?
Well if it’s more useful than extra dmg going on the other side of the tree, then it’s worth the payoff.
If it’s not worth it, don’t go for it. You’re paying a price for that extra utility and that’s fine.
If it’s a hard choice, then it has meaning and the devs did a good job splitting things in the tree.
It’s not an illusion of choice, it’s you choosing to get something or another thing.
Are you going for the dispel? Then you’re giving up extra damage.
The trees are working as intended, you can customize your build.
Do you need the dispel for PVP? What about the cyclone? You’ll have to give up on dmg to get them, it’s a tradeoff.
In these talent trees as shown, i can take options 1 or 2 from the talent tree and grab the 3rd one… several times.
We’re getting free talents here… you’re losing some stuff baseline to get them sure, but it’s your choice to do that. You can also get Convoke and Swarm at the same time… 2 separate covenant abilities in the same build.
Will they put in newer talents down the road? I’m sure they are… as well as switching some stuff up to make it easier/harder to combo.
I agree, people called out the covenant and legendary thing even before SL launch, and guess what, it happened exactly as people would expect. And it took blizzard 2 raid tiers to fix it.
And then they decided to add set bonuses and double legendaries, especially for pvp. People said “pls no, disable this, it will break the game”. And guess what happened? Exactly that.
What does that have to do with the new talents?
The Covenants were hard to switch, that was the whole issue.
With these talent trees we can switch as often as we’d like…
When i eat veggies and i drink alot of isotonic fluids like powerade i fart like crazy, it stinks like 3 month old boiled eggs inside vinegar.
I recommend a visit to the doctor in this case.
The price is too high that it will result in classes having no utility at all since the utility costs too much.
Utility is the fun thing with classes.
For example it was fun for Monks to get stun baseline so they actually can play with Ring of Peace as it is fun spell. Because it was unfun when you had to choose between RoP and Leg Sweep.
Of course people will choose what’s the best. The issue is when “what’s the best” feels bad. And that’s where my critique is. It feels bad to be prunned of utility you had baseline because it NOW competes against DPS stuff.
Do you maybe start to understand now?
The issue with talents is they’re unfun, because utility competes against DPS and you’ll lose a lot of baseline utility and fun spells.
I think the talents are off to a good start atleast.
I understand people are disappointed to see things we currently have baseline move to the tree but that was expected. Due to how the current talent system works there is no room for improving most abilities so instead it’s given when leveling up.
I am fine with removing some current baseline stuff but I agree that it shouldnt be just trying to get it all back through talent points without options to replace the current builds with something else. In BFA and shadowlands a lot of classes have remained the same and the only options for customization was through the borrowed systems.
We do see some new options for certain specs while others seem to not get many new choices.
The best way to solve this though is not to say it sucks but rather give constructive feedback.
Like move this talent to here instead, open a branch between these points so we don’t have to talent into something we can never use etc.
Give suggestions about old abilities or effects that could be a nice option for a talent.
I know for sure that I will be on top of the fury talents as soon as they are released and give feedback asap.
I have already gone through old abilities and effects from tier sets, artifacts, azerite and the covenant abilities and conduits.
Some classes are probably gonna lose some stuff though.
Like druids currently have an insane amount of utility.
- The utility you speak of is trash in raids and generally instances. How many times did you decurse as a druid? How many cyclones did you cast? Yeah… that’s right.
- For PVP you’re expected to not take all your dmg talents for utility that is worth it. Want cyclone? Go and get it.
Oh please, you’re getting more active abilities. Did you even try to make a build? Show it here what you’re gaining and what you’re losing versus live.
And no, what counts as live are your baseline and talents, not tier, not covenants, not conduits and the like, since you’d be expected to lose those going into another expac.
I did say in depth why it sucks.
Stuff like
- Hibernate
- Dispel
- Stampeding Roar
- Frenzied Regen
- Barkskin
Etc.
Should be baseline.
They’re (mostly) now and them being put into talent tree and split that far between each other leads to them being indirectly prunned and classes less fun because they will have less utility as people will ignore utility in favor of DPS.
So they should really think about it more and not put fun utility spells to compete against DPS / Healing increases.
I don’t know, thousands? ten thousands? A lot. I don’t count it. I have decurse bound to each party member, so I don’t have to click them.
How often do I clone? A lot as well, generally I clone like 5 times in 2 minutes while in combat. Sometimes more.
Exactly. Not only you gain no new utility, you just lose it, but you also lose bunch of borrowed power now. It’s horrible.
I like this option, i really hope they can sort this out. Whats better than like adding your dos spec something from other specs talents. I know top setup build is there for those who want it but still its like other custom option for your toon. Now only thing we need is that there is no so huge cap with top setup against custom selected talents
What are you talking about? What are you decursing/cycloning in PVE? Don’t lie, you’re not wasting dps on cycloning 5 times in 2 minutes, where is that even necessary?
You’re gaining class power through the new talent trees, by making a lot of that borrowed power yours permanently.
Like i said before, make a feral spec and show the image here.
Show what you’re losing and what you’re gaining. Put your complaint in an exact list to see the difference.
It’s cool on paper. It’s less fun when you see them put stuff like Summon Succubus, Summon Felhunter etc. in spellbook, split far from each other, so you have to either drop one, or lose dps while trying to pick them etc.
The theory is good, I like it. The practice is so bad, that it’d be better not to do them at all.
I also hope they fix it, but the only chance they fix it is that they realize how bad it is currently. And it’s very bad when you have spend so many points losing dps & important stuff just to pick niche utility spell.
There is no way anybody ever picks Hibernate. Yet it’s fun spell. You can even Hibernate somebody using Soulshape, it’s such a cool interaction. Very good if you can use it well, but when you can, you’d not drop anything to do so, since it’s easily counterable. Is it more fun when you don’t have interactions like that? No.
I’m not playing PvE. You asked me how many times I decursed, I answered. Don’t ask question if you don’t want to receive an answer.
It is. In PvP disabling healer or DPS is extremely crucial in correct moments, generally well-tied to DRs. I actually have footages of me playing Druid so I can count it.
OK, I checked it now and I cloned 8 times in 2 minutes in a first random recorded match I found.
Which results in me playing pruned version of Shadowlands class I had.
That line was on PVE…
For PVP ofc you’re cycloning often, it’s a powerful spell, go get it!
You’re gaining double talents from some rows… and double covenants at the same time.
You’re getting more than what you have in Shadowlands.
You are obliged by law to point and laugh at people who post comments like this … it doesnt even have to be blizz related … we should know by now after more than two decades of gaming that “its not final product” usually leads to disappointment …
PS: Nothing against you personally mate I would quote anyone making such a comment xD … its just that …
Rude.

Why should I limit myself to PvE? These talents apply for PvP too.
Yes, unconstructive shilling is a plague in modern society. Companies try to look for feedback, and shills try to silence the feedback in hopes that companies will improve the product. But without feedback, they don’t know how.
You’re not, that was specifically for PVE.
You answering to a PVE question that you cyclone 5 times in 2 minutes, in PVP, is irrelevant.
For PVP you should go and get it, what… you never heal in PVP? Those points are useful there.
So, you sacrifice something to get something, deal with it, that’s the point of talent trees.
