New troll roleplayer looking for guild, server and help

So I am new to RP and I’d like to make an Amani troll rogue, mainly developing him as a shadow hunter.

I am looking for a troll centered guild who hosts events and such.
I have never really roleplayed and I have to say I am a little frightened lol
English is not my first language and I’m not sure if I will be able to pull out the troll accent right lol

Also speaking about amani I am not sure if would be better creating a character using the zandalari or the darkspear model.
I feel like the amani are more savage and for that the darkspear model give me stronger primitive vibes, on the other hand aesthetically i think the zandalari model il more akin to the muscular amani depiction of Zul’jin and the other forest troll.
What do you guys think about the models? Which one is more generally accepted for roleplaying a forest troll?

Thanks all for your time!
Hop you have a great day

Honestly? I’d go for a darkspear model over a zandalari, I do that for my forest trolls.

As for a guild? I can suggest Shadows of the Empire on Argent Dawn;

Hey!

Great to see new roleplayers. For a server: Argent Dawn EU is your place to go.
When it comes to models: every forest troll RPer I’ve yet seen is choosing the Darkspear model, for the reasons you have mentioned.

And for guild: playing a non-horde troll will limit you when it comes to choices, but Shadow of the Empires is a lovely choice. They’re active daily with casual RP and around 3 events a week, but not overwhelmingly big. They are very friendly and patient with new RPers or those new to troll lore. Just whisper Zelujin or Dahti on Argent Dawn for more info. They also don’t have requirements when it comes to accents and so.

An alternative would be Hand of Zanchul on the same server, a mixed race / slavers guild. They too are active, but currently so big it might be harder for a new roleplayer to blend in, but it’s worth taking a look.

When you are very new to RP you might try and not aim for a too prestigious class such as Shadow Hunter though, maybe headhunter. Shadow Hunters are important in lore and extremely skilled and knowledgeable on Loa and such. They are hard to pull off even for experienced roleplayers!

Thank you all for your suggestions!

Be careful as well, how you do it. Remember, Amani are -enemies- of the Horde, so despite the bad blood between the two, Sassing a Blood Elf in Orgrimmar is not going to end well for you, the guards will come down on the Blood Elf’s side. Yep, Even the Darkspear ones, because they hate the Amani too.

Its an interesting choice to make, and I completely get that playing the ‘Outsider’ is an interesting concept, It’s one I love in RP myself to be honest, I’d just caution against making it -too- difficult, especially if new to RP, as you might face a lot of conflict. Like, my Character here, Brigante is almost entirely tolerant, there is only one race he hates. Amani.
He’s a Farstrider, he can’t help it, its part of who he is. If he sees an Amani in Orgrimmar he will turn in disgust away from them, and likely try to summon a guard to have them arrested.

So that’s the main thing to remember. You are not a Darkspear Troll. You do not have a rightful place in the Horde. Your Tribe, is at -war- with the Horde, and those green eyed pink skinned land-thiefs are -more- Horde than you ever will be, so you need to be -clever-.

Its doable, and like I say, playing the ‘Outsider’ can be fun, just be careful to remember that the Amani as a people, are not Horde, and that your ‘brudda Trolls’ ain’t gonna like you much.

Play it smart, and you should be fine…and heck, if people get too ‘in your face’ about it, you can always just lie and say you are a Revantusk, I mean they -are- Horde, and are physically the same as Amani, in fact they are an offshoot of the Amani, same as the Darkspear are from the Gurubashi. That’s how I’d play it “Nah mon, Ai nat be Amani! Revantusk be my tribe, aigh?” I mean what are they going to do, fly to the Hinterlands and check?

Just be wary of the pitfalls of openly admitting to being Amani, is what I would say, especially on Argent Dawn. The Blood Elf players, myself included, take the Blood Elf hatred of Amani -very- seriously

That aside! Welcome to the server, and hope you have fun!

Thank you a lot for your suggestion, I’ll definately be careful with that!
Maybe I RP as an Amani traitor who realized the leaders of his tribe were leading his kin to self destruction and tried to stop and convince them to join the horde without success of course. He is now member of the horde and dream of a day all troll tribes will be united.
What do you think? Seems easier to me right? Still some hostilities but that can make good RP and spice things up a little
Have fun, see you in Azeroth pink skinned

Thank you definitely checking that

Sure!, that actually makes a lot of sense, and would give a backstory and explanation as to why you are in the Horde: Your opinions differed from the rulers of the Amani and they kicked you out. You somehow managed to find some Horde who didn’t kill you on sight, and you expressed your intentions to join (I mean you could make a fascinating RP story out of that, your ‘first contact’ with the Horde). It would be an interesting time to play a character who believes in Troll Unity, now that the Zandalari are joining the Horde alongside the Darkspear, that could provide you with a lot of fun, and yeah, absolutely, hostilities are all about the IC RP fun everyone is getting out of things. Brigante would not be happy to see an Amani in ‘his’ Horde, but he would have to abide by the law, and tolerate it. Doesn’t mean he’d stop telling his ‘Amani’ jokes :stuck_out_tongue:

And yeah, I’d use the Darkspear Model, personally, make 'em green, and consider some height change item, Darkspear are apparently really small for Trolls, but hey, that’s just my opinion on it.

Not if I see you first… But yeah, whilst my character is avoiding Orgrimmar like the plague at the moment (long story) Have fun and probably see you out there. Do check on the AD forums, there are sometimes Campaigns running (One starts soon ‘Rumble in the Jungle’- How much more Troll could you get! ) and they are an -excellent- time to get noticed and to see guilds and go “Oooh, I like that concept”

See yeh around.

(P.S, I wouldn’t worry about your English, you write better English than most of the English teenagers I know!)
