So I saw SL is giving Trolls a sandy skin as a customization option, which would mean those trolls are sand trolls (skin colour is basically the only thing that differs between tribes). But Darkspear are jungle trolls?
Im all for new customization options but I’m curious how they’re going to explain Darkspear trolls suddenly recruiting from/(or breeding with?) various other enemy tribes.
What trolls really need are shoes… or more toes * shudders*
Darkspear are Jungle trolls, they originate from Stranglethorn and the Gurubashi.
Maybe the Horde has recruited some sand trolls, but not been given their own race?

Im expecting more skin colours than just sandy though, and as it just a customizarion option and not a new race, they will all be Darkspear and it just doesnt make sense.
They will all be trolls sand, darskpear, whatever, and then there are zandalari.
Also i saw (blizzcon?) giving more option than just sand skin, and promised even more customization ti be revealed later, for all core races.

No, they will all be Darkspear. The original troll race are Darkspear trolls.
And yes, as I said, I expect more than just sand skin. Which means sand trolls, ice trolls, dark trolls etc. all of which are part of enemy tribes.
Ice trolls would require it’s own model.
Sand trolls works with the regular trolls because they used to be jungle trolls themselves.

Dark trolls seems to be extinct, at least the only Dark troll tribe/clan we know of. The ShadowTooth Clan have gone extinct and only their speaker remains (She’s with the other speakers Close to the Harbor in Dazar’alor).
Forest trolls are part of the Horde with the Revantusk tribe in the Hinterlands, and they would requre their own model as well due to them being beefcakes.

We recruited the Zandalaris.
The Zandalari recruited the lesser tribes during Cataclysm.
The Darkspear trolls will be able to be Sandtrolls and perhaps Darktrolls? Same as Dwarves will be able to be Wildhammer and Tauren Grimtotem.
I believe it will be something similar to Mag’har orcs.

There will be that new isle as starter area, this one prolly makes more sense for the new added customizations, I wager…
As I remember all new players will land in this starter area in any case and I have seen all starters too often to start there anyway…
And there can always been other for instance trolls that have been adopted or having a non darkspear parent … I am too much looking forward to the new customizations to care too much
