Like the DF UI would as an option under features?
My UI looks nothing like the DF one. I really dislike the portraits in DF, every addon I tried to change it with didnât work and kicked up loads of errors.
keep playing retail then:-)
And thereâs the core of your argument.
I dislike a lot of UI addons which simply means I wonât use them.
The same would apply here.
It might entice more players to play if it was an option though since they wouldnât need to get used to 2 different UIs. But I guess thatâs not important or anything.
Wow! I 100% agree with Dottie on this!
⌠but the classic UI addon did not work in Retail - last I played - BfA I think. I bet no longer works.
⌠the UI in question wasnât a thing before Dragonflight. I have no idea what on earth you experienced in BfA but itâs not whatâs being talked about here.
And obviously, if itâs not an option to enable or disable at whim itâs a no-go, but as an option akin to the gear manager or talent preview? Absolutely.
I had addon - Classic UI to use with Retail. Works no more since in SL (maybe, maybe BfA donât remember) bar in bottom was remade. I never tried Dragonsflight.
I like options. As longs as I have options to not use modern UI, modern models, modern Quest helper etc.
I like Vanilla.
But Dottie doesnt want me to have this option.
He rather i have lots of addons and errors all day for a UI that looks bad.
There isnât an option in DF to choose to use the interface or not. You have no choice, and it will be the same if they bought it to wrath.
You can make the addons yourself look like Dragonflight but you wonât, wrath addons have hardly any errors. I want my interface to look the way I want it, stop trying to think for other people, youâre not good at it.
Is true. I tried friends Dragonsflight. UI not good. Bags so tiny, bling so much. Classic UI much better and in Dragonsflight no UI addons work no more. Donât implement this!
No. Edit mode is trash.
It removed the ability to freely: - move the chat window.
- resize the chat window.
- move raid frames.
- Edit: I forgot, changing the amount of rows on the raid frames.
- move player frames, target frames and focus frames.
Bring those freedoms back otherwise Edit Mode is not worth it.
Almost everything else it does can be done faster and without removing access to 99% of your interface interactions with Dominos or Bartender4.
I beg to differ.
Stop projecting. Youre not good at it either.
Are u sure we talking about the same game?
Again, i would like to disagree and ask the question - What. Are. You. TALKING. ABOUT?
Yes
Edit mode obscuring and disabling actions with the entire UI while Iâm just trying to move ONE thing.
Asking too many unnecessary confirmations, holding my hand as if moving a frame one centimeter to the right was a âlife or deathâ choice that I will regret forever. Just. Let. Me. Drag. The. Frame.
The super funny part about this complaint is that this is something you cannot possible do in classic without addons.
The even funnier part is that you are wrong. With 0 addons you can drag ALL of the frames I mentioned in my first message (otherwise I wouldnât have made that specific list, duh), without any extra clicks or confirmation, in Classic. An ability that has been there for over a decade and lost in 10.0 for the abomination Dragonflight now has.
Incredible how a 2019 game has more quality of life than a 2022 game.
Furthermore, addons such as BlizzMove allow me to freely drag many other frames that Edit Mode doesnât cover, like any menu window.
This is amazing. Playing wow for years and years, i never knew you can drag bars and rearrange UI in classic wow WTIHOUT any addons⌠please tell how. I cant find this option myself⌠apart from raidframes.
Also, i would like to bring up an important topic. Most people dont use addons and a lot use addons that make the game harder to play.
You complain that someone in raid isnt as quick as you`d like??? Well thats cuz everyone has a different UI.
Maybe the default UI should be good / simple / clear / functional enough so that casual people are NOT handicapped by playing without addons?
He never mentioned bars though. everything he did mention can be changed without addons. Just to refresh your memory the claim was
Nothing about the bars.
I think you are wrong most people use some addons, even if its not that many.
A easier solution is to just remove the api that allowes people to make UI addons, force everyone to use the original one its about as logical as forcing the horrible looking retail one on people.
Maybe just maybe the original UI is more than clear and functional enough for casual players to actually get what they want out of this game, even semi hard core players can use it without to much problem so stop pretending like its horrible.
Ok, so? Because in this tread we are talking about the entire UI. Not just the parts Mr Way mentioned.
I dont get it. So whats ur claim? That most dont use addons or DO use addons?
Yes, that would be a solution that brings everyone on the same level when interacting with the game. Objectively better than having wastly different level of interracttion because of default trash UI and having 9837698267 addons.
I agree. I just would hate having to click spells with mouse. And new people do not know you can bind keys somewhere in the interface.
Thats why i would LIKE to have a default UI that is what i suggested before (without addons).
Most people use addons in classic.
Keybinds have existed since day 1 no need to click any spells.
Unlike back in the day most people have seen a UI that looks close to wows UI somewhere before and would naturally know that they can rebind keys (and there even is a small hint in that you have a bar full of keybinds from when you first log in).
Seeing as you went for the bringing in the mythical creature known as a new player into it I will also do that, you dont want to overload a new player with options that they have no way of knowing if its better or worse. Is it objectively better to have all your bars in the top left corner where you wont see them as much than have them all clustered bellow your character? No nether of those are objectively better than the other. Having less options like that lets a new player just come into the game and learn the game before they look towards UI options.
But lets be real there arent many new players really nether in classic or in retail. Most people know that they can use addons to change their UI to be a way that they like it. Even if they are new there is so much information about wow out there that a person who have never seen a UI that is close to the old school wow UI can just google âhow to change keybinds in wow classicâ and find a detailed guide to how you do it within seconds.
