How about this - the original ui is oudated. Maybe the Dragonlends UI isnt perfect either.
My suggestion is that this lazy company should make a UI, which is the same across all versions of wow, and which is:
very easy to understand
as simple and clean as possible (no idiotic artwork)
still giving all the information one would want (but no tox bloat like damage meters)
keybinds would be already preset
and customization would be minimal (only for things like chat or smth), but not for bars or unitframes - so that everyone is on the same level when it comes to interacting with the game.
maybe even disable addons entirely
I might not even aesthetically like it myself if something like that would be created. But i would adjust to it because i then know everyone has the same UI. And then noone can blame anyone for doing something incorrectly because of different control interface.
I think this topic is very important, and has been ignored for 15 years. Because this company is run by monkeys who are so greedy they give an excuse like “we support addons” to not do a proper job themselves.
What!!! Most people use Questie you see by when they ask for quest it gives number.
What is addon to make WoW harder?
And defualt UI is best. That’s why I used Classic UI in Retail as long it worked!!!
In Era I use two addons In Retail I used 20 or so - which UI best???
tl;dr ui in wow sux, being able to change it without 656846354142 addons would be cool…
I understand whats this guy trying to say … few things upfront, #nochanges argument is absolute joke these days and I am not fan of how DF UI looks and if blizz actually cared they could easily implement simple check box to turn old/new UI on/off
UI in wow is absolute garbage and was for many years, it was OK for vanilla and TBC, OK-ish for wotlk but as the game was getting older it got only worse …
In 2008 we got wotlk … in 2008 a game that was crappy wow copy and game that is now dead (outside of like 1 pserver) came out and that game had almost fully customizable UI, you could shuffle bars around, frames, character icons, cast bars, onscreen messages …
What wow got in 2008 was side bars turning off every time you log out …
Its one of the thousand little nothings that slowly killed wow for me …
You want proper AH ? Get addon. Proper frames ? Get addon. Proper action bars/ability interface ? Get 18 addons. Proper bags? Addon …
Its absolute bethesda behaviour just expecting players to fix all the problems, why should I download trillion addons that keep breaking all the time and that blizz keeps breaking all the time, just to have basic functionality of a game thats being constantly upgraded and paid for …
I would understand getting addon for some obscure nonsense like instantly checking your tanking caps, but basic stuff like having your health bar on a place that you can actually see … absolute bs …
Also like 99,99999% of players use eight brazilian of different addons, without even needing them or knowing how to use them …
The number of people who dont really care about addons (like me, I got few but I barely have them setup or use them and if they die, they die) or outright purists (shoutout to mah boi besttaur Vanillataur) is absolutely miniscule …
So saying that wow UI is good or that it couldnt use changes is kinda silly …
